I stopped in the Platt Park location today (3/18/25) to drop my mountain bike off for a tune and ask a question about the rear suspension. After a nice gentleman (not sure of his name) brought me upstairs to check my bike in, a fascinating yet extremely disappointing experience occurred. Maurice, the bike tech upstairs, was extremely annoyed from the second the other employee and I arrived upstairs, stating he was busy, 'so this better be quick.' He proceeded to exude annoyance, arrogance, and disdain at the fact a customer was there. Then Maurice, unprompted, started making fun of the fact my bike brand (Specialized). Every single moment of the conversation was just another jab or snide remark that I was there... in a bike shop... to drop my bike for a tune. I guess they don't like money? Then he said I had 5 minutes to tell him exactly what I needed before he had to go to a meeting. I just said I needed a tune. As he was clearly annoyed and rushing to collect my information, he was being so rude I told him nevermind, I'll just find another shop or come back another time they weren't so busy. He couldn't have gotten my bike down from the stand fast enough nor have been happier to have potential customer leave. Maurice, go touch grass. And for the shop owners, good luck staying in business with an employee like this. I'll be going to another shop despite you being a block from my house. Highly recommend AVOIDING this shop at all costs.

Fantastic day trip from Denver for curious kids…read more My sister-in-law took the kids and me to Dinosaur Ridge for a picnic lunch, visit and ramble. It was a great way to spend a few hours outdoors and away from screens. There are ample picnic tables outside the visitor's center. Parking can be a little more limited, but you can park on the road outside and walk in. We did go into the visitor's center ($5/pp). There was a very nice volunteer there who talked to my son with enthusiasm and patience. The center is pretty small, but there were enough things for my son to examine and think about. He's 9 and well beyond his dinosaur obsessive days, but he was still curious about thing things he saw. The younger kids enjoyed digging for fossils in the sandbox outside. We also hiked along the walk way that spans between the visitor's center and the Red Rocks area. The walk is pretty level, and there are labeled areas that show dinosaur tracks and fossils. The views are also stunning of the whole Denver area basin. I'd happily return.

You can also do the bus tour (it looked popular!) there is a gift shop and exhibit area. There are also several picnic tables here if you want to do lunch before the ridge. There is a parking lot or street parking. It was fun to see the Dino prints and Dino bones! You also get a nice view of the valleys and mountains around you at the top! Worth the stop, especially with kiddos! They would find this cool!

Leading up to our rental day, communication…read morewas great and Jessica was incredibly helpful matching our abilities and biking background with Denver local trails. The day of the ride, Jessica and Chris were waiting for us in the Staunton State Park Visitor's Center, and we spent 30ish minutes making sure our two bikes were properly fitted to each of us. Their process was very thorough- taking our weight into account to adjust the front and rear suspension, watching us pedal around the parking lot, and even installing SPD pedals for me. They also equipped us with a spare tube for my tire, mini bike pump, a bottle of water, and a snack. Before we left, we shared our trail plan for the day, and Jessica's incredible depth of knowledge gave us the insider tips and let us know what to expect and special spots we should stop at that we hadn't known about. Chris stayed with us for a little bit at the beginning of the trail, offering us tips to adjust our breathing for the elevation (we're coming from Michigan) and what to expect on the trail. At the end of the day, we'd considered the whole experience to be wholly worthwhile. The only drawback is that since we had less time than we'd have liked to adapt to Denver elevation, this seemed like the first time we'd seriously considered ebikes. I hope it's something they're able to offer in the future. Otherwise, please check out this business if you're looking for an MTB rental company. We look forward to seeing them again the next time we're in Denver.

My bike sat in the garage until I was able to ride again in March. I pulled the bike out and the rear wheel wouldn't spin. I took it to the shop who did the work (C3 outside of Golden)- the tore it apart and found the hub seal had failed (their words). he tried to rebuild it but couldn't, it was totally corroded. He told me they'd send it to Shimano to warranty but that they doubted they would?! He said it would be at least a few weeks, and Shimano would blame the user for not maintaining it properly. I have had great service in the past at Pedal bike shop so took it to them - with the receipt from the purchase in july. They kept the bike and were doing the same thing as C3. They were denied but fought with Shimano on my behalf and they finally agreed to warranty the hub because the seal had indeed failed. They did the work and I got my bike back. A week after getting my bike, I got a call from the mechanic at C3 who told me - as expected - that Shimano denied the warranty claiming it was 'misuse'???! what.. 2 months? I can't ride my bike and get it wet? how did the water get in the hub? from abuse or misuse?? Replace in July and ridden just over 2 months? When I told him that I'd already gotten my bike back and it had been fully warranted by Shimao (because of the diligence of the Pedal staff), he went silent. He just said, "I'm glad you got your bike back". Why would I go anywhere but Pedal? Clearly, they strive to make things right for their customers - they don't just roll over and say they can't do anything. Pedal is the BEST!!! I had always been a Shimano guy - I couldn't be more disappointed in them and will be writing them a letter.

Once anti-eBike, that has changed for me now. Yes, I am older, as with many mountain bikers, and I've ridden & raced 'em for half a century. My health is restored! The eBike is keeping me on the mountain! This shop's a great place to go for your 1st eMountain Bike! Mike Kreger helped me, and he's quite knowledgeable. The bike I ended up with has a 720Wh battery and a Yamaha PW-X3 motor - enough capability to ride from downtown Denver (and back), to Green Mountain for ACTUAL mountain biking with a coupla downhills thrown in for good measure! No car needed! Every time I've come in, the staff has been great. Enric Die-Girbau has also been notably helpful finding oddball parts. Thanks guys! An employee (maybe the owner, not sure) greeted me and asked me if he could help me. I told him I was in the market for a used bicycle, preferably a single-speed or fixie, with a 58 cm frame (my preferred size). And here was where it kind of got weird. He told me he didn't have time to update his sign, and that he didn't have ANY used bicycles. Then he proceeded to tell me ALL about a bunch of NEW bicycles he had available, NONE of which were single-speeds, and NONE of which were even close to my size (all were much smaller). After 10 or 15 minutes of this, I interrupted him and said "Thanks, I'll keep you in mind", and left. I don't much appreciate someone trying to steer me towards something that I don't want. I would have appreciated just a simple "Sorry, we don't have what you're looking for, but here's the name of another store that might". THAT would have actually been helpful. Bottom line, it seems like a great store if you want to burn up some time, or if you really don't much care what kind of bike you actually end up with.
