There is street parking closer to the playground, but it still was a bit of a walk for smaller kids.

It's not overly strenuous, which makes it great for a casual weekend hike or bringing friends who aren't hardcore hikers. Parking is limited, but there's additional space along the road if the main lot is full. Definitely doable if you plan ahead a bit. Dogs are welcome on leash, which is always a bonus for me! One thing to keep in mind is that there's not a lot of shade throughout the trail, so I'd recommend going early in the morning or later in the day, especially during warmer months. Bring water and maybe a hat. Overall, a scenic, enjoyable trail that I'd definitely return to. Good views, good workout, and pet-friendly. What more can you ask for?

I'd say 25-30 spots? Keep in mind, this trailhead is POPPING. It's always busy, so know before you go. You can park at different places roadside, which will add to your hike total. The hiking trail is narrow, at times rocky, but mostly dirt. There are some nice views. If you're looking for a serene hike though, this definitely isn't it. I can't tell you the last time I encountered over 100 people on a hike. But again, it makes sense considering where it is. You get some nice views of the Great Divide and even the Coors brewery. There's not much shade, so sunscreen and a hat are a must. I'd probably do this hike again in the winter to avoid the crowds. It's one of the closest hikes to Denver and for the people who've never hiked a mountain I'm sure they'd love doing this one.

I went this past Sunday. I had previously visited early in the pandemic in June 2020. I walked…read morearound the Mesa in 3hrs recording 7 miles with dew people hiking. This time I went to Golden Cliffs trailhead on the south side. There were two trails (0.4 & 0.8 miles). The shorter looked more difficult indicating a steep climb to the rim. I chose the longer one. I was wrong. The 0.8 mile trail was less used and I had trouble finding the trail. I took several dead-ends that brought me to the base of the cliff for climbing routes using ropes & pitons. I eventually made the entire distance in 1.5 hrs. The trail map at the trailhead said most difficult and it was right. Once on top I took the North Table Loop trail 0.3 miles to Tilting Mesa trail. I hiked another 0.3 miles to Rim Rock trail (1.7 mile) which is a big loop going to the north rim. Weather was rolling in with heavier clouds and wind. On a clear day it would be hot. I took a video at the north rim at the 2nd highest spot on 6,551 ft. The highest is Lichen Peak at 6,552 ft. I finished the loop and headed back west. There are no restrooms/porta potties or water on the mesa top. So I descended to the west parking lot. The 0.4 mile segment is probably at 6-8% grade. I looked at the trail map. I could go back up to the top and negotiate the steeper route (0.4 miles) to the Golden Cliffs trailhead where I parked my car or take a circuitous trail (1.3 miles) along the west and south side. Very scenic and the trail was clearly visible. I startled a mule deer. So if your looking for a good hike, start on the west side and get to top for a level hike. Several trails go down the east side to access other trails including one that takes you to New Terrain Brewing.

Green Mountain in Lakewood (not to be confused with the one 20 miles north in Boulder), is an…read moreawesome playground of running, biking, hiking, and mostly going up and down hills. This is a sprawling hill carved with many unique gullies and ridges. Parking is handy at the Alameda Trailhead for me, and I like to walk right up the main trail. It's well packed and wide, but a bit steep. Bikers take caution going down! Hiking up is strenuous but not difficult. Excellent workout! Once you gain the top, there are plenty of dirt trails to go explore. In the summer, there are so many wildflowers up here! Snow and mud can linger in spots. You get great 360 degree views of Denver, the front range, and all around!

Nice scenic views of C470, incredible panoramic views of the Denver skyline and Red Rocks. Remember to be mindful as both bikers and hikers are sharing this thin strip of the trail. It was a 99% sunny day in October and still in the upper 80s. There's no shade so bring plenty of sun block and water.

Visiting this park made a recent visit so much more beautiful and memorable…read more Temps were low and the wind chill so biting that one of our hosts immediately retreated back to the vehicle while the remaining three of us walked around the edge of the snow-covered lake and trail and then stepped onto the frozen lake - a first time for 2:3 of us!! The second host soon retreated to the car as well while us two, non-locals carried on - not knowing when - if ever - we might get to return...and having the curiosity of cats. Glad we were that we opted for a short out-and-back hike on Chicago Lakes Trail!! The views were breathtaking and well worth fighting the cold to see!

They have a couple small parking lots but it fills up quickly so per usual with Colorado, the earlier the better. Bathrooms on site as well but I would hold your nose and close your eyes when you go because you don't want to see what's going on there. Yikes. Bonus for having multiple picnic sites where you can plop down and have a snack or meal while taking on the views!

This park is loaded with trails for hiking,running, horseback riding, cycling and access to climbing. Campsites are embedded in the park, dense trail system around a former historic farm. There is an interpretive center and plenty of parking at multiple lots. Free access if you paid for the CO Parks pass on your vehicle license renewal.

We even bumped into a Jefferson county ranger hiking the trail ( and this is not a rare exception). Parts of the trail were really icy and slippery ( bring traction for your shoes!)

You start in an open clearing. Then you can go right on Cherry Gulch (?) trail - which is shorter and more challenging to get to the top. We did see a mountain lion as we ended our hike later than we planned. This is a really nice park that is so close to the city. We definitely will return and I encourage you to go. I didn't feel that the climb was challenging at all.

There aren't any rough places that make it difficult to maneuver. I've used the picnic shelter before and was satisfied. I know where I grew up, a lot of these types of places would become very dirty but I was pleasantly surprised with how clean this one is. The trash cans are emptied on a regular basis, I've never once seen them over flowing. The playground equipment looks safe and fun, though my baby is too little to enjoy it yet. I've also noticed that many parks in the area tend to be littered in dog poop but not this one. Overall, great little park to hang out in.

The park also has a tennis court and two different parks (though one belongs to the nearby school). And a small overhang picnic spot as well.
