Very clean and straightforward trails, there were a lot of stops ranging from ruins to overlooks to summits. The views at the top were great. The trails were busy, so keep that in mind, but we had no issues parking. Placards at key locations helped explain the history and what you were looking e.

Lovely easier in and out hike. 7 miles 1700 feet elevation gain Great parking lot, bathroom, areas for picnics or pitstops. The remnants of the Walker house at the top is pretty cool and great to have lunch as they have two benches. Perfect snow hiking with micro spikes or traction. Beautiful views of Denver and beyond.

My first hike in Denver and it had enough variety to keep it interesting. Our group took a few trails to create a loop ( Ute, Devil's Elbow, Meadow). In all about six miles. Even though it rained in the morning and snowed in the area, the trails were fairly dry. At certain elevations you can see the Rockies. We visited two pavilions with nice views. Driving from Denver expect to drive on switchback sections to higher elevation. I've experienced better views but this park is a nice warm up to harder trails in the future.

Went for a sunrise winter hike. Enjoyed the trail very much. Beautiful views with many places to stop and sit down and even have a picnic if one wanted. This will be on my rotating list of hikes for sure!

Perspective. Cooped up indoors for the last two months? Haven't we all! I'm certain nature needed a break from us anyway. This past weekend was my first hike in over two months. If you're in Denver and haven't hiked at Mount Falcon Park you are doing yourself a disservice. This little old hike turned out to be quite pleasant, and one of my new favorites in close proximity to Denver. We pulled up to a full parking lot and cars parked along the side of the road leading to the parking lot. However, we found the final spot directly in front. Stars aligned? Yes, 100%. You know the hike is going to be great when you step out of the car and Red Rocks is in plain sight! They did have COVID-19 signs in place. And though the parking lot was full, the trails weren't all that crowded. Lots of masks and social distancing in full effect. We opted for the Turkey Trot Trail first, which connects to the Castle Trail. The latter gets most of the praise here, though both are doable in a single day. Plus, the former is less crowded with awesome views of Red Rocks along the trail. Lots of dogs and a ton of mountain bikers! Holy smokes, maybe skip the headphones on this one, since bikers will wiz past you every few hundred steps. This trail is also horse-friendly? Wow, that was quite the surprise! I only wish their owners picked up after them like I do with my dog... Maybe it has something to do with being stuck inside for the last two months, but Mount Falcon Park is a newfound favorite. Definitely worth the quick drive to Morrison!

Awesome park with great views. We did the east side towards Red Rocks with the summer house at the top. The hike is moderate with not much shade and average incline. Plenty of parking and nicely maintained trail and a good amount of people but not too crowded. Not too many mountain bikes on the day we went.

My family and I went hiking here the day before Thanksgiving (11/22/2023), we throughly loved it. We met a ranger, Dr. Dan, he walked and talked to us at several different times and he helped make it one of the best hikes we've done. We want Dr. Dan's boss to know what a great asset they have in this guy. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

We did the East trail side and it was a 2h steep hike up, I almost wanted to give up because I was just over the constant elevation. The top was near with the views, photo op and castle view. To go down it was a lot faster and we finished the whole thing at 3h. It's not the most fun but glad I did it. I won't walk for the rest and following days so it is an excellent workout:)

I can't think of a better way to spend a bachelorette than having Mount Falcon on the agenda. First off, I want to give a gigantic shoutout to Robin, from Hiking in the Rockies for being the best guide ever. She not only introduced us to the names of trees, wild flowers, and rocks in the surrounding area, but also patiently took our group photos and even gave us snacks at the end of the hike. If you are a beginner or someone who gets lost easily, I would recommend Hiking in the Rockies for some company, motivation, and/or guidance. We started our hike at the Mount Falcon West Trailhead. Since we had several girls hiking for the first time, we went on a 4.5-mile hike, 7000-8000 feet in elevation, which took roughly 2.5 hours. Thank goodness that none of us were blessed with altitude sickness. The intensity was low to moderate intensity with more steep slopes initially and more downhill slopes the later half. Our route was the following: west trailhead, meadow trail, old ute trail, devil's elbow trail, old ute trail, and then tower trail. Be sure to use the restroom at the beginning of the hike (west trailhead) as there were no porta potties along the way. With any hike, remember to protect yourself from the wind/sun with sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen. I was so glad I wore my hiking boots for ankle support; it really does make a huge difference versus regular tennis shoes. This hike was so refreshing. I enjoyed seeing the different types of rocks (granite, quartz, & micas) and walking on the pine needles. My favorite trees were the ponderosa pine and juniper berries. While on the trail, we saw cute dogs on leashes. We additionally saw John Walker's home that is now in ruins due to a lightning strike. It was a nice balance of sun and shade, so we were not burning the entire time. Trails were clean. One of the other hikers warned us of a snake, but the only wildlife we saw was a squirrel. Some of the best views of the mountains were actually off trail. I expected the view from tower trail to be more mind-blowing, but it will just have to do. Overall, this is definitely a fun hike to break a sweat.

First timer here ! Had a blast with my man checking out so many beautiful views. We did about a 3 mile walk there are longer trailers but I sure ain't at that level yet!! Definitely check this place out not too crowded totally able to social distance

Great trail. Listed as kid friendly--- I cannot exactly agree to this. There is incline and it is not flat all the way. Honestly-- the heat was at 87 degrees and too hot to finish it with my toddler. Definitely a great hike though if you go without kids. We completed about 1.8 miles of 3 miles the turkey trot trail. There is also another trail called Castle trail. The parking lot was half way filled at 10am on a Monday morning. And if your up for more take a ride over to red rocks amphitheater.

Always a fun and easy hike to visit the area. Fantastic views of downtown Denver and Morrison (red rocks). Worth the quick drive!

We arrived at the trailhead at 10 am and hiked up to the castle, down walkers dream trail, and back to the trailhead for a total of 6.7 miles and 4 hours. Would rate it an intermediate trail and would definitely recommend spikes. Amazing views and historic sites made the hike very much worth it.

There is nothing more magnificent than seeing natural beauty created by our awesome God. The amphitheater was a sight to see. It's amazing that it was man made. There are a total of three marked hiking trails. We hiked the difficult and medium trails. They weren't that bad at all. The different elevation did make it tough at times, but what an accomplishment it felt when we finished. Also, the view along the way was great. So don't forget to stop and just look around! They also have an easy trail, which is nice, especially if you're taking small children. The visitor center was neat as well with some fun facts and history. There is also a Trading Post where you can purchase souvenirs. The shirts are crazy expensive, but if you shop in the clearance section, it is more affordable. If you're hungry, there is one restaurant there with reasonable prices, but of course more on the pricier side. However, I think it would add to the experience if you brought your own food and picnicked along the way or eat at the end. You can definitely spend a whole day here! It's great for a family outing, date, friends hang out, or even just to enjoy solo. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially if you're from out of town.

It's also worth picking up a local map so you can estimate which hike to take based on the amount of time you have available. The trails do not provide any shade, so a hat and sunscreen are essential. If you have a few hours to spare while visiting Denver, be sure to plan a day trip here if the weather is nice!

We were in town for spring break so we wanted to drop by and check it out. We arrived on a Thursday early evening. Red Rocks Amphitheater is located 10 miles southwest of Denver in the beautiful town of Morrison, CO. Parking is accessible all around the amphitheater. There was no concert scheduled that night. We were hoping to catch the sunset but unfortunately we missed it. The lighting was still great for pictures though. We parked by the Upper South Lot. From there it was a moderate 10 minute walk to the south ramp of the venue. During the walk the views of the valley is stunning. Once we made it inside the outdoor amphitheater, I was in awe of the beauty and ambiance of the Red Rocks amphitheater. The majestic backdrop of the red rocks was definitely something I have never seen before for a concert venue. It was unique and beautiful. We were able to start from the bottom of the stage area and make our way to the top. It was a nice workout climbing up the seats steps. From the top, the different angle view of the amphitheater and backdrop was amazing as well. Overall we enjoyed our time exploring Red Rocks amphitheater. It was a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed and we did not see a live concert at the venue. We hope to be back again so we can attend a concert.
