While close in proximity to Denver, this trail is too close to the highway. For much of the trail, you can hear the traffic and even see the road from the hike. The grooming of the trail is well maintained, and there are a lot of pockets of Aspen, which is nice for the fall. It is a popular hike, so get there early if you want parking. There's a cute picnic area. It would be shaded for the most part due to the surrounding trees. The trail is mostly uphill, not crazy steep, but not easy. There's a small loop, so this one's good for hikers getting back into shape or families. You can continue on a larger loop if you like. The junctions are clearly marked with signs. I advise you take a look at the map to keep from going on the wrong path. We will not likely be back for a while.

Nice and easy trail right off the highway and is super easy to find. Lots of parking too. Bathrooms are located not too far up the trail where there are also picnic tables. We went on a great day for snowshoeing although it was quite windy. Luckily once when you get up in the trees it's not windy anymore. Snow condition were pretty good but there were some muddy spots since it was sunny. Overall recommend as a nice and not difficult walk/hike in this area.

Fun easy-moderate hikes in this park! The trails provide tons of shade and once you're in the park you can't even hear the highway very much. The bathrooms are super clean as well!

This trail is 35min from Denver so that's why we tried it out. It's incredibly easy even for a child so it's mostly just a leisurely nature hike. If you do the longest trail up the mountain it's only about 4mi so we got done with it under an hour (at slow-moderate pace). The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there's no real destination at the top of the mountain where you get a grand viewing spot. It just kind of does a lip near the top that is still covered by tree line. It is still lovely and beautiful. Note: it's right off the highway so at first it's a little loud but you forget about it quickly when you hike and noise gets quieter. *parking free, and clean toilets when you walk up about 5 min on the foothill.

If you are looking for a relaxing but moderately challenging trail, then the Meyer Ranch Park Trail is what you are looking for. This heavily shaded trail is filled with native vegetation to fill your eyes with wonder. Depending on the time of year that you go, you will enjoy wild flowers or the changing leaves of the Aspens. Although it is heavily traveled, I still found it secluded enough to get my meditation in.

It's not a long hike nor is it hard but it's a beautiful one. The hike is pretty much in the evergreens. For those who want quiet and fresh air, this is a good one. Good hike for kids.

Great hiking trail - just under a 5 mile loop. Good leisurely workout out. Easy parking.

There is nothing more magnificent than seeing natural beauty created by our awesome God. The amphitheater was a sight to see. It's amazing that it was man made. There are a total of three marked hiking trails. We hiked the difficult and medium trails. They weren't that bad at all. The different elevation did make it tough at times, but what an accomplishment it felt when we finished. Also, the view along the way was great. So don't forget to stop and just look around! They also have an easy trail, which is nice, especially if you're taking small children. The visitor center was neat as well with some fun facts and history. There is also a Trading Post where you can purchase souvenirs. The shirts are crazy expensive, but if you shop in the clearance section, it is more affordable. If you're hungry, there is one restaurant there with reasonable prices, but of course more on the pricier side. However, I think it would add to the experience if you brought your own food and picnicked along the way or eat at the end. You can definitely spend a whole day here! It's great for a family outing, date, friends hang out, or even just to enjoy solo. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially if you're from out of town.

If you're here in the morning, you'll see joggers going up and down the stairs. Also, the visitor center has a few exhibits on the history of the Red Rocks Amphitheater (and celebrities and rock stars who have performed here). But Red Rocks Park has lovely hiking trails beyond the amphitheater. Just make sure that you bring a bottle of water, hat, and sunglasses if it's a sunny day. It's also worth picking up a local map so you can estimate which hike to take based on the amount of time you have available. The trails do not provide any shade, so a hat and sunscreen are essential. If you have a few hours to spare while visiting Denver, be sure to plan a day trip here if the weather is nice!

We were in town for spring break so we wanted to drop by and check it out. We arrived on a Thursday early evening. Red Rocks Amphitheater is located 10 miles southwest of Denver in the beautiful town of Morrison, CO. Parking is accessible all around the amphitheater. There was no concert scheduled that night. We were hoping to catch the sunset but unfortunately we missed it. The lighting was still great for pictures though. We parked by the Upper South Lot. From there it was a moderate 10 minute walk to the south ramp of the venue. During the walk the views of the valley is stunning. Once we made it inside the outdoor amphitheater, I was in awe of the beauty and ambiance of the Red Rocks amphitheater. The majestic backdrop of the red rocks was definitely something I have never seen before for a concert venue. It was unique and beautiful. We were able to start from the bottom of the stage area and make our way to the top. It was a nice workout climbing up the seats steps. From the top, the different angle view of the amphitheater and backdrop was amazing as well. Overall we enjoyed our time exploring Red Rocks amphitheater. It was a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed and we did not see a live concert at the venue. We hope to be back again so we can attend a concert.

It was a great way to spend a few hours outdoors and away from screens. There are ample picnic tables outside the visitor's center. Parking can be a little more limited, but you can park on the road outside and walk in. We did go into the visitor's center ($5/pp). There was a very nice volunteer there who talked to my son with enthusiasm and patience. The center is pretty small, but there were enough things for my son to examine and think about. He's 9 and well beyond his dinosaur obsessive days, but he was still curious about thing things he saw. The younger kids enjoyed digging for fossils in the sandbox outside. We also hiked along the walk way that spans between the visitor's center and the Red Rocks area. The walk is pretty level, and there are labeled areas that show dinosaur tracks and fossils. The views are also stunning of the whole Denver area basin. I'd happily return.
