Our hike was extra special because it was led by Maria the Park Ranger. Maria's knowledge and passion for Chautauqua was incredible to witness. You can tell these mountains mean so much to her! We learned about the landscape, wildlife, Natives, and so much more. Our hike was simple but we saw so much along the way. The views of the flatirons are hard to beat. The path was busy but it was a beautiful saturday morning and it still didn't feel overly crowded. We saw lots of doggies, runners, and families and friends meeting for a morning hike to kick off their weekend. It was pure magic. I hope I get to come back one day!!

I'm a tourist and the like and I enjoyed it! We lucked into parking on a beautiful, busy Saturday morning. They have very nice restrooms at the Ranger station, and more overflow port a potties around if needed too. The nearby trail is highly accessible and it doesn't take long for some views to pay off. It's a decently steep incline, but nothing crazy at all. Once you're into the trees the shade helps against the thin air and the sun, and it's so quiet and serene. No mosquitoes like I'm used to back home. Loved all the birds (shoutout magpies) and also seeing everyones' dogs.

July 28, 2027 - Denver…read more The Cherry Creek Trail was a nice break from exploring downtown Denver's busy streets and shops. We accessed the trail at Larimer and 14th, walked to Confluence Park, and back for about a 3-mile round trip. The trail is wide, paved, and pleasant to walk. We didn't realize at first that one side is designated for pedestrians and the other for bikes and scooters, so we started on the wrong side. We figured it out quickly, although the access point we used could have been marked more clearly. We visited on a hot day, and this stretch of trail had very little shade. Since the trail sits below street level along the river, there wasn't much of a breeze either. Once we were on the pedestrian side, we felt comfortable walking our dog, although one scooter zipped past us much too fast. We also noticed a few homeless about, but we felt safe during our midday walk. Overall, it's a pleasant urban trail and a great way to enjoy the river while taking a break from the downtown crowds.

I have heard and talked about Red Rocks for decades, but had never been. My wife and I were in Colorado visiting friends and saw online that one of my favorite female voices of all time, Sarah McLachlan was playing a show at the same time we were in the area. It was a no-brainer! I could potentially make this one of my longest reviews ever, but I'll try to keep it short by saying this venue was everything I wanted it to be and more. Parking was easy as there were people directing you from the bottom of the hill up to the venue the entire way. I recommend getting there early like we did, so you don't have to shuttle from one of the outer lots. We had a short and simple walk from our parking lot to the entrance. I also recommend bringing some sort of rain gear just in case because of the random storms that show up in that area. The good news is they're gone almost as quick as they arrive, which was the case for us. After about 30 minutes of rain, the sun came back out, and it turned into a perfect summer night in Colorado. As for the concert, I've never been to a place where the venue gets talked about almost just as much as the artist. Sarah McLachlan is always incredible (still amazing after all these years) but our group talked about Red Rocks almost just as much as her. The view is amazing, there really isn't a bad seat in the entire place, and the acoustics seem to be almost perfect. We actually really liked their food options as well. That said, I wish I would've done my homework because a lot of people have brought their own into the venue and that's something. We probably would've done as well. Check their website for details before you arrive. One last note, don't forget to stop by their visitor center. I'm so glad we didn't skip it because not only does it share the history of this incredible venue, but they also have an area where they list off by year every single artist who has ever played there from the beginning to now. That was super cool! Truthfully, my entire Red Rocks experience was perfect. People who live in the area know what I'm talking about and if you ever visit Colorado, do yourself a favor and cross this amazing place off your bucket list. By the way, concerts are amazing here but it's also open to the public during the day just to check out. So cool!

Pictures really don't do it justice--seeing a world-famous concert venue built right into the massive red rock formations is an awesome experience. There isn't much shade, so be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water, especially if you're visiting during the middle of the day. It's also pet friendly, which was a huge bonus for us since we were able to bring our dog along. Even if you're not there for a concert, it's a fun place to explore, take in the incredible views, and appreciate the unique architecture and natural surroundings. Definitely one of Colorado's must-see attractions!

The river in the canyon is always flowing and the breeze feels wonderful on a hot summer day! If you like to rock climb this is the place! The boulders are majestic and the views are spectacular! On a clear day you can see Denver in the distance! It is a state park so if you buy the park pass for state parks your entry is covered. Otherwise vehicles are $10 entry and walking in will be $4 per person. The state pass is worth $29 and you can buy it when you purchase a yearly tag for your vehicle. This park has lots of parking but on weekends you need a timed entry during the busy season. There is a visitor centre, bathrooms, and a water bottle refill station. Picnic tables so bring your basket and snacks!

Even though many on AllTrails said the trail was fine within the past few days, it was clearly iced over today. No worries, as we had our spikes with us. Well, one worry, as one of my wife's spikes decided to sabotage our day and start to tear. After fighting with it for 30 mins or so, we abandoned our attempts to continue on the trail. Other than today, the Evergreen Mountain Trail is one of our favorites in Colorado. The views from the top are amazing. I can't recommend it enough; however, if you're going this time of year, take your spikes...you'll need them.

July 29-31, 2026 - Morrison, CO…read more A hike followed by lunch on the patio at the Ship Rock Grille is a great way to experience Red Rocks. Be sure to explore the amphitheater, and if you can fit a concert into your plans, don't miss it. It's an unforgettable experience. Just be prepared for Colorado's unpredictable weather. We arrived for the concert early and waited in the parking lot for the gates to open. It was sweltering, and everyone was dressed for the heat in shorts and tank tops. Once the gates opened and we made it through security, we were only a few minutes from entering the amphitheater when the skies opened up and it started pouring. Fortunately, we had packed lightweight rain jackets, so we stayed comfortable. Many others weren't as prepared and ended up soaked. The lesson? Do your research, check the forecast, but don't depend on it. Bring layers and rain gear, even if the day starts out hot. At Red Rocks, you can experience blazing sunshine and a thunderstorm within the same hour. But, it's absolutely worth every minute you spend here!

There is nothing more magnificent than seeing natural beauty created by our awesome God. The amphitheater was a sight to see. It's amazing that it was man made. There are a total of three marked hiking trails. We hiked the difficult and medium trails. They weren't that bad at all. The different elevation did make it tough at times, but what an accomplishment it felt when we finished. Also, the view along the way was great. So don't forget to stop and just look around! They also have an easy trail, which is nice, especially if you're taking small children. The visitor center was neat as well with some fun facts and history. There is also a Trading Post where you can purchase souvenirs. The shirts are crazy expensive, but if you shop in the clearance section, it is more affordable. If you're hungry, there is one restaurant there with reasonable prices, but of course more on the pricier side. However, I think it would add to the experience if you brought your own food and picnicked along the way or eat at the end. You can definitely spend a whole day here! It's great for a family outing, date, friends hang out, or even just to enjoy solo. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially if you're from out of town.
