I grew up in the area, so belleview park was a staple in my childhood. There's a total of 3 parking lots that connect. one on belleview they share with pirates cove, one just down by the dog park section of belleview; a bit of a walk but a HUGE green area with picnic tables behind pirates cove to the main park, then one down on chenago ave; again a bit of a walk through to the main area of the park, but a huge scenic area where the train rolls through and where big dry creek runs through. read more

I feel a bit silly for having just recently discovered this park, but what an awesome find. How did I not realize this was here sooner? So there's an awesome petting zoo and train that you can pay to enjoy but the rest of the park is just as incredible. There's a shallow creek that runs the length of the park. It's honestly one of the best places for kids to just free play safely in the summer. Lots of great trees for parents to chill under while the kids enjoy the water. It's a perfect picnic spot for sure. Go make a day of it! There's also a traditional playground near the petting zoo and train station. My kids said the water is cold but on a hot day, it's the perfect activity. There are restrooms as well. There's some covered seating with picnic tables but it's just easier to bring a nice blanket and find a tree to camp under (or bring some outdoor chairs). We did the petting zoo recently too. It's $3 per person for the petting zoo for anyone over the age of 2. Same price for the train. You can do one and not the other. Tickets can be purchased on site or online. They give you one token per ticket for each activity. So you can only go through the petting zoo once and take the train once on a paid ticket. The petting zoo has cows, pigs, a duck, goats, alpacas, chickens, etc. It's fairly small, but a good way to expose city kids to sweet tempered farm animals. My kids loved the train! It does a nice big loop around the park. And the best part is the tunnel you go through at the end. The train is also beautiful - pretty green, shiny train. I would say the only down side is parking. I've ended up parking at the Pirates Cove area both times I've gone. There's simply not enough spots. Go early in the morning if you want to enjoy otherwise you might be completely out of luck. read more

This is a great medium sized park. Rolling hills, a small shallow stream running through the middle that the kiddos can play in, and plenty of shade makes this a great place to picnic, hang with friends & family, or just chill with a book. There is a mini-train that runs around the park available for $3 per passenger at the time of writting this, as well as a fun petting zoo for the same. Nice spot! read more

Belle view Park is sooo fun. They have great play equipment and lots of covered picnic areas. There's a creek that runs through the park that is perfect for wading on hot days. Belleview park is one of our all time favorite toddler attractions in the area, it's 4 attractions in one! 1. Playground is pretty large! Gets super hot. 2. The train - it's newly replaced this year (2024) and costs $2 a ticket. It's a fan favorite for the littles. Does probably an 8 minute loop. 3. The petting zoo! Also $2 to enter, you can pet alpacas, pigs, sheep, goats etc. 4. The creek! My kids could play in this creek for hours. Bring water shoes and your beach toys, the water is nice and cool and it's only at max like a foot deep and in most places just a few inches. There are tons of spots to let the kids stand and play with the sand while you sit in the grass and watch. Bring a blanket and snacks! If you forget snacks, the depot at the train station sells cheap chips and popsicles. read more

What a gem of a park! On a whim, I looked up local petting zoos and found this. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The animals all looked well cared for and loved. Pigs, bunnies, goats, chickens, calves, ducks, ant farms, butterflies, lambs, Guinea pigs, and a llama! It was perfect for our 5 and 2-year-olds. And soo affordable even with a train ride around the park! We didn't get into the nearby stream, but there were lots of families enjoying the water and grassy areas. read more

I had no idea this park had so much to offer. I took my 18 month old here today. For $6 bucks we rode the train, visited the animals at the petting zoo, then finished our afternoon wading in the creek. It was super hot today and the water was nice and cool. Very refreshing not freezing at all. The current is calm and where we were it was nice and shallow for her. I'll def come back when I can spend the day and picnic because there is ample shade. read more

This local park has a great variety of activities for all ages. There are wonderful paved walking paths that traverse across the land. There are 2 playgrounds for smaller kids and bigger kids. There is a airplane and a race car the kids can pretend to drive. The amazing picnic pavilion looks like it is split to accommodate 2 separate parties with election connections and access to charcoal grills. Great place for an outdoor celebration. I did not get to explore the farm or train area as it was the middle of winter but I will definitely check it out when it opens back in the summer. read more

On the edge of Englewood/Littleton area lies Belleview Park, a rather large park that not only has all the regular park stuff like tons of grass, playgrounds, pavilions, walking and biking trails, it also has a little train that goes around the perimeter of the park and stops at the petting zoo. This park is super nice, and history indulged. There is a rocket like statue that represents a missile or something that crashed in that very spot in that location. I apologize for getting the facts crooked. My friend told me while I was sipping a margarita. There is this gross swamp sewer in the middle of the park that is disguised as a river, of course it's man-made. But, PLEASE. Don't let your kids play in these filthy waves. It's just so nasty. I saw numerous kids doing so. Anyways, this park has an underground trail that takes you to a whole other field of the same park. You're currently passing the highway, which is really cool. There are two playgrounds and a tennis court as well. There are very spacious restrooms with funky and very wonky mirrors, so don't expect to see yourself. The hills are very steep and super comfy to roll down and lay a blanket over it. We did enjoy the 4th of July Fire Works here. There were hardly any police officers here to patrol the children who were setting off intense fireworks that could've literally killed them and other people. I didn't enjoy that. The parking is a nightmare AFTER the fireworks were done and over with. In fact, they waited 5 minutes to finally show off the very last blow. Kinda awkward by then. The commute of people trying to get out of the lots were horrendous. Unnecessary traffic. I enjoyed the park without this event. Would I come here for another 4th of July? Probably not. read more

Having been in this area for over two years, we were super excited to check out Belleview Park. Our son, who is nearly 3 and a half, is obsessed with trains and farms, so I thought that this would be the ideal place for us to head over to and spend some time. We got there about 9:30, and being that we had never been there we weren't sure where to go as GPS had us park in a more remote area than the actual park was. The actual train and petting zoo opens at 10, so having the playground nearby was really helpful to pass the time. There's not much signage for where the train can be found, so you follow the sidewalk down over the bridge and you'll find the farm house on the right and what looks like a ticket counter on the left, but you don't actually get the tokens there. It's more for show. Nothing opens until 10, so there were about 10 families waiting by the time the token counter opens. But again, with not having any signage as to where you can purchase your tokens it's pretty confusing. Most of us waited up along the train track, until someone told us where the tokens would be sold. Mr. Scott, the conductor of the train, was really friendly to the kids waiting, and made it a big deal that they were going to ride the train. He made waiting a little easier. The tokens are purchased to the right as you get inside of the barn, and there was only one line for cards and cash. The young lady running the register was sweet and friendly, but as more people got in line the longer it took to get tokens. Not sure if the machine was holding up the line, but it was disappointing having to wait 15 minutes for tokens. And being out in the sun with a very excited 3 year old and a 9 month old, waiting in line for more tokens was difficult. The petting zoo was enjoyable, and the young ladies were super friendly with my 3 year old son who wanted to know every animal's name milking buttercup the cow was pretty fun, as was petting the pigs. I also appreciated having a hand washing station immediately outside of the petting area so we could wash up before heading to the train. The ride was great, again having some signage as to where to line up for the train and where to line up for tokens would be helpful. Again Mr. Scott was wonderful involving the kids with the train expectations, and making the ride a fun experience. Maneuvering your adult body into the train set can be interesting, but that's why you do yoga Overall, the park was wonderful and the people making the experience were lovely. The disorganization left much to be desired, and made tainted the experience for me. Simple signs, or even arrows on the pavement, to help direct first timers would be welcome. We will be back for another go of it, definitely buying more tokens at the start to cut down on waiting read more

There should be more reviews for this park. All 5s. The only drawbacks are that it shares parking with the water park next door, and it's on Belleview - a very busy street. Other than that, what else do you want from a park? Playground? Petting zoo? Mini train station? Lots of shade? Baseball field? Creek? It has all of this! All of it. I would love to highly recommend this all field but the cleanliness of the restrooms is unreal!! We have been here the last two days for tournaments. The trash is over flowing, women's bathroom doesn't have a trash can so everyone puts their trash on the floor. The toilets are like prison toilets made for toddlers (so low to the ground). No toilet paper and just EXTREMELY FILTHY! It is a serious health hazard! The actual ballfields are well groomed and the grass is beautiful, but everything is gross! And they should have parking designated for the buses during tournaments. Just not even parking spots. read more

This is a nice park. I live nearby so we go here in the evenings to walk the stairs or play frisbee in the grass. It is really popular and can get busy in the summer. There is a water park, a dog park, a baseball park, and even a putt putt golf course just across the street (not part of the park). My favorite thing about living in Denver was easy access to all of the parks. Belleview park has that same social feel but with a lot more kids. read more

This is one of my favorite parks. There is a little train that runs a loop around a part of the park. There is a small petting zoo on site, too. When we went, they had roosters, goats, a turkey, a cow, ducks and mini donkeys. The train and zoo is $1.50 a ticket for everyone 2 and older. There is a nice double playground. One side is for smaller kids and the other is for bigger kids. There is a large pavilion area separating them, with plenty of tables for people to sit and enjoy their lunch. I think there is a basketball court nearby, but I'm not sure. Lastly, there is a stream which runs through the park. It's shallow and kids just love to wade through it. The water can be kind of cold, but it feels nice on a hot day. It was nice to have my kid playing in the same stream that I played in when I was a kid. read more

Another favorite park! Tennis courts... Basketball courts... Lots of grassy areas/trees. Big Plus are the Playgrounds! If you have kiddos that are climbers, the monkey bars don't disappoint. But for the most part all kids of all sizes love the big kid playground... And for the tiny tots, there is a smaller sized one :) There's also a big sheltered area with lots and lots of picnic tables. Really clean and nicely maintained, perfect for a big big get-together. I have yet to explore all the different facets of this park (train station/farm), the creek, and running/walking the well paced paths. There is no doubt we will be back here again! read more

We love this park! If you haven't been to this park yet you've got to make time and go, seriously. This park is like the ultimate park, it has it all! A petting zoo, train, playground, lush grass, picnic area and refreshing creek what more does one need? I recommend doing the petting zoo before getting into the creek, for obvious reasons. The creek runs throughout the park which is so cool in my opinion and is just perfect for that hot day when you don't necessarily feel like swimming, getting your feet wet in the cold creek is so nice, bring along some water guns and you're golden! Of course bring towels because the kids always get drenched! The creek does have crayfish and frogs so maybe wear water shoes. We always spend hours here, highly recommend visiting! read more

This was a mixed emotions type of day. We showed up right at 11 when they opened and got in a very long line to wait and buy tokens to get into the petting zoo area and for the train ride. We probably stood in line for 20-25 min. Normally it's no big deal but with minimal shade and a 20 month old it's hard to keep everyone happy that long in one place. I can appreciate the laid back atmosphere and not being rushed though. So it's a bittersweet combination. The outside petting area was ok. I feel like the rabbits could have better enclosures. It was basically just a small 3x3x3 cage with some hay, food, and water in it. Nothing special and I feel like they would be more active if they had a bigger enclosure with more toys or things to play with. They had a bearded dragon and some parakeets but you couldn't touch any of those. I'm surprised they didn't have a handler if some sort letting the kids touch the rabbits etc. The inside of the zoo had a faux cow milking area, some chickens, ducks, goats, lambs, a cow, and a pig. The only things you could touch were the goats and lambs. That was a bit of a disappointment. The train ride was fun once we got on it. We waited 3 trains worth (about another 20-25 min). Once we were let to get on the train in the conductor didn't count how many people he let in and there were some brat kids that wanted an entire seat to themselves along with her mother. My mother came with us and she has arthritis so by the time she walked to find a seat they were all taken. My husband, son, and myself were in one seat and no one would scoot over or share to let my mom on. So we all got off and waited a 4th go around of the train so we could all ride together. Once we were on the train was very pleasant and we enjoyed every minute of it but it could have def been handled better. My mom also had a very hard time getting off the train because it's not very arthritis friendly but the conductor was nice and came over and helped us. She was very embarrassed but we do things as a family no matter what. read more

I think this is definitely the best park in the Denver metro area. It's very large, with plenty of shade, and a creek that runs the length of the park. Note: there's plenty of broken glass in the creek. Most is sanded down, and I've never had an incident, but bringing some sandals or water socks wouldn't be the worst idea. In addition to the playgrounds and creek, there is a little train and a petting zoo on site, both are only $1.50. The train is fun for little kids, but I found the petting zoo a tad depressing. Some of the animals seemed a little sickly to me. Also, this park is entirely accessible from Denver via bike path, if you take the Platte River path to the Mary Carter Greenway to the Big Dry Creek path. Really nice ride, about 8 miles (40 minutes) from central Denver pulling a bike trailer. The bridge to Big Dry Creek path is not marked for some reason, so you might want to research your route on Google maps before heading out! This is an awesome park for birthday parties, but I've heard that if you want to reserve a shelter you have to jump on it in January when they start taking reservations. read more

During the summer they have a train for the kids to ride as well as a small petting zoo. These thing do cost money but my niece enjoyed every moment of it and has even asked to go back to see the animals again. Also there is a great creek running through the park that the kids can play in. It does get busy here during the summer but it is worth your time to see your kids happy. read more

We LOVE Belleview Park! Plenty of shade for picnics on the grass, a fun miniature train that is fully operational ($2 per person to ride), petting zoo (also $2 per person), creek that the kids can splash in, playground, pavilions, and free/easy parking. Funny story: we discovered Belleview Park a few years ago when my kids were bored and cranky one summer day and we had no money. I told my daughter to Google "fun free things to do in Denver" and she actually found this park online. What a fantastic discovery! We've been regulars ever since. We even took our dog here the first day we got her as a puppy. There are a couple of grills too, if you want to cook out. Pirates Cove is right next door. There's also a baseball field if that's your thing. A truly lovely park! read more

Took my 2 year old here for the first time today. It is a huge shady green grassed park. It has a slow moving stream that runs through the middle of the park and is such a wonderful spot to have a picnic lunch and wade in or just dip your feet in and cool down. It had a couple of playgrounds, one that is good for little ones. We purchased tokens for the petting zoo ( small but big enough for little kiddos ) that has chickens, goats, ducks and a huge pig. My son was afraid and we didn't stay long. But for $1.75 each it was A OK for me. The train has been running for 30 years and it is sooo worth going on. All the kids around the park stop what they're doing to wave at the train riders and the riders wave back. Very fun and inexpensive day for mom and son! read more

Really great park for kids! Two sets of playgrounds (one for littles, one for bigs) with a large covered pavilion in between. Everything looked clean and in great shape. Bathroom facilities were clean. Down the hill a bit we did the $1.50 train ride (about 5 minutes long) and waded in the creek. Plenty of space to wade in the creek! The water level never made it near my calves, so it stayed nice and shallow for the the little ones. read more
