I make the trek from Bed Stuy weekly because I love this laundry mat so much! And committing to washing weekly doesn't allow my load to pile up so I usually throw my items in a weekender bag and stop in before work. I love the concept of eco friendly washing and the detergent being included with the wash is definitely a plus. I'm from Chicago and they use a detergent brand from Chicago so that makes me happy. I often chill in the cafe during and after laundry, because it helps me nix any excuses to not getting things done. The owners and their team are always friendly and helpful. It's nice to have a space to not only do laundry but to chill and connect with others as well. Oh and I can't forget the healthy food options are the icing on the cake. Only for the rich but love the concept. My wash didn't push the soap out yet my clothes looked clean (take that however you like). I chose to like the fact my clothes looked clean although I saw the detergent build up from a previous use and I acknowledge it wouldn't go into my wash. Overall a great idea, if well maintained. I walk over a mile from my place in Greenpoint to patron this place - people are so helpful, it's got a downright uplifting vibe (what other laundromat can you say that about?) and as a total newbie to the laundromat world, they didn't make me feel like a dumbass once when I was struggling to do things correctly. One time I left lipstick in a pocket and it got all over my belongings in the dryer and they were so empathetic and helpful and I don't want to imagine the curses I would've gotten at any other laundromat for getting lipstick in their dryer. read more

Oh my god, I love this place. I love doing laundry but I hate being at a public laundromat because I feel like it's dirty and dark. Celsious takes the cake and needs to expand...yesterday. This was my first time so I wanted to be walked through the process. I made my way to the front desk and a woman with glasses (whose name I regret not getting) helped me out. She showed me all of the steps to the washer and the dryer along with help in getting my machines. When you wash, yes it's a little "pricey" but the price is offset by the free detergent (simple/good for the environment and your clothes), the sanitizing minute wash before you begin your load, the quickness of the wash and dry, the dryer being so cheap, the atmosphere, and lastly, the customer service. I have never been more happy or relaxed while doing laundry because I was outside basking in the sun with my kindle. They take quarters, Apple Pay and credit cards, this concept was well thought out! It's safe to say I'm hooked and obsessed. I hope they continue to expand because this concept is just perfection. read more

Doing laundry used to be the banal task which stole time from my days off. Celsious is not that. Bright, airy, with a spacious. I barely read 10 pages of my book before my laundry was finished. They even have settings for traditionally dry-cleaned goods. Their nonabrasive cleaners are eco-friendly, and gently thorough on my clothes. Isa, the attendant is invaluable - walking me through the process, and even spent 20 minutes guiding me through a tough stain removal. I overheard someone say they walk 1/2 mile to use the space. I see why now. Normally I use other drop-off services, but the space, café, and personnel make this space more enjoyable and cost effective. Tip them well! read more

This place is amazing! When I walked in I was greeted by a pleasant lovely laundry concierge. She was polite professional and extremely helpful. She gave a me thorough explanation of the process and shared some tips abs tricks about the art of laundry. The machines were clean, the soap compartment didn't have gunk and crap from all the prior washes. The machines have a sanitize feature I LOVE THAT! Also the machines have temp settings that actually work. With very little product my clothes came out clean and soft! While waited for my clothes to dry I treated myself to a yummy cup of chai. This place is great! The machines are energy efficient and really effective. The staff is also super friendly and helpful and offer you a free wash on your first visit. Upstairs has a cute coffee shop and comfy lounging area to sip and chill, and even an outdoor patio for warmer weather months! The pricing is a bit excessive but I have to say.. after going to dingy neighborhood laundromats never knowing if my clothes would come out fully clean and dry or come out with mystery stains that weren't there before... it may just be worth the $7-10 a load once in awhile to have peace of mind and relax upstairs with a cup of tea. Excellent customer service. The staff is extremely helpful and could give you a quick rundown of the options on the machine. All the machines work as should. My favorite part is that they include soap for all the stuff you wash. Also you can pay with your card which is a huge plus. Ok, just left Celsious and I cannot believe this fabulous place exists!!!! When I lived in Williamsburg there were a handful of places to wash your clothes but this is on another level. Clean Soap, SANITIZED Machines, a Café, a Patio AND a Great Staff!! Isa was our laundromat host and he was patient and friendly and knowledgeable and all around fabulous!! Love him!!!! When we walked in & I told Isa I needed two machines he grabbed two jars behind him asked if lavender was ok......loved the little jars & lavender?....of course!!! Their soap is free of any fillers or dyes - simply Castile soap, baking soda and essential oils. I am not sure if you have to use their soap or you can bring your own but he had me at lavender. Then we walked to the machines where Isa informed me that the machines are SANITIZED before each wash!!! What??? The machines are high efficiency and high powered and they have a variety of settings from super delicate, (think dry clean) to wool - yes, wool, to down, to a 15 minute short wash. After we loaded our laundry we went upstairs for a delicious turmeric latte and before we finished our drinks, our wash was done. We put all of our laundry in one high efficiency dryer and in under 20 minutes our clothes were dry. Fantastic!!! Tips are appreciated and well deserved. When I return to Williamsburg I will be sure to bring my dirty clothes with me so I can drop by. read more

I recommend this place to anyone who wants their laundry to actually come out clean. It is far from the dingy spots you typically across in Brooklyn. I would come here even if I wasn't doing laundry just for the ambiance. The place is well lit, has plants, and a nice little cafe area upstairs where you can do your work while waiting for your laundry. Today is their year anniversary since opening (congrats!) thus the end of their free load for your first visit but the lady at the front was nice enough to honor the deal for me. She was also very helpful with my million and one questions on how to use the machines. I was finally able to wash my king size 100% polyester comforter which wouldn't even fit in my washer back home in Maryland. Very satisfied with my visit and definitely will be returning. I've been going to Celsious since before the pandemic, and the experience was always pleasant (cafe with healthy snacks and teas, new machines, free non-toxic detergent, friendly team), but when the pandemic hit, they became a lifesaver. I had a newborn baby and am high-risk for Covid, so I was terrified to go anywhere but also had to do extra laundry for my daughter's onesies and such, and Celsious offered a safe, reliable service that really made me feel they were caring for the whole community's needs. They accommodated me in so many ways - I did my drop offs outside, they were always properly masked and gloved and following all protocols and then some, they allowed reserved slots for high-risk people or families with kids so we didn't have to wait near other people. They were kind and helpful and became a kind of touchstone for me. It made me feel like other people were actively caring for people they didn't know, and not prioritizing money over public health and safety. Now that I'm vaccinated, I'm still worried about my daughter who's too young and also all of the people who haven't been able to get vaccines or are immunocompromised, and I so appreciate that Celsious is continuing all of their safety protocols despite some businesses no longer requiring masks. They feel so community-oriented, ethical, and values-driven. They value sustainability, eco-friendly practices, and have also supported local artists. And not to mention - they're also experts at what they do! Their advice on how to treat different fabrics and stains has always been on target, and they've never once shrunk or damaged a piece of clothing in any way. I know it's a little intense to leave a review this long about a laundromat, but Celsious is genuinely so much more than that. I've only been here twice after seeing a featured video on Facebook and I honestly have nothing but amazing things to say. Firstly, their washers and dryers are AMAZING!! Half the time with every load with specific settings (i.e. hot, cold, quick wash and they even have for WOOL!). They have free detergent as well that is homemade and eco friendly. Upstairs they have coffee and in the back they have a cute little sitting area. We have spoken to a few of the employees there either in regards to help washing something or just talking. They are absolutely sweet, friendly, knowledgeable and the kindest people. Today, the older woman (forgot her name unfortunately) was beyond helpful to me. I had to double park (bc Williamsburg is the worst) and I quickly put clothes in the wash. Turns out the entire time she was actually keeping an eye on my car to make sure I wouldn't get a ticket or no one hit it. I couldn't thank her enough. Honestly please just check them out. Ever imagined you could do your laundry in a pristine, beautiful, comfortable environment? well, this is the place. no kidding. and most importantly the laundry comes out sparkly clean (their machines are eco-friendly, best on the market, it only takes 30min (including drying!!) and they even text you once your load is finished. woah!).
