They're made fresh daily and come with a little cup of bomb salsa for $1.25 each. The make a bunch of different kinds but the selection dwindles pretty fast and they're usually sold out by around 7:30 p.m. I like the beef ones best, but the cheese ones are pretty good, too. Oh yeah, and it's a laundromat. Their drop-off prices are the best I've found in the area, they're reliable and they're open late. Like Daniel K. said, when I explain Corner Frenzy to people, their response is inevitably "only in New York." If you're skeptical about buying a hot dinner at the laundromat, I understand your concern. But the food's good and I've been enjoying the empanadas there ever since I got the courage to try it. They sell all kinds of random beverages there as well, plus a staggering variety of soft serve ice cream. Again, this is foremost a laundromat, so how this makes any kind of sense is beyond me. The employees range from surly to incredibly warm and friendly, especially if you're a loyal customer. I'm docking them a star for the occasional oddity with the laundry (new, mysterious stains, for example) and a miserable, multi-day experience trying to get some suits dry cleaned (one that I expect I could have avoided or at least understood if I spoke any Spanish). Also, it's called Corner Frenzy, which is pretty awesome both for attempting to explain the madness that this business is, and for failing to explain at all that it's a place to do laundry and/or eat ice cream. Fun fact: Mysteriously, the last two times I dropped off clothes there, the socks were packed in a branded tote bag instead of the usual recycled plastic grocery bag. Frenzy indeed! Get swept up in a whirlwind of ice cream, laundry, hot dogs and empanadas. This is the kind of place where people say "only in New York!" but seriously, I've seen some pretty oddball businesses in all different parts of the country. People just like to say "only in New York!" all the time. Okay, the ice cream is lousy, the laundromat isn't my favorite (the dryers can never get my stuff completely dry!), I've never had the hot dogs, but I love the empanadas. I really wanted to like this place because apparently it's super cool - with the empanadas and all that. However, I really just came to do my own laundry. The people who mentioned that the dryers suck were completely right. I should have thought more about that before going here. The people who work here are nice enough and the washers are fine though. I paid $0.50 for each detergent thing and the washers were $1.75 per load. It didn't take very long for my clothes to wash which was nice. I was really excited to see that the dryers were only $0.25 and the cycle was quick. However, this was definitely a "too good to be true" situation. My clothes were not dry at all after the first time, so I put in another quarter and turned the setting on high. Still not dry. Maybe I should have just loaded the machine with quarters hoping it would stay on longer? It seemed that the people who worked there knew how to make the cycle longer. Anyway, I will not be coming back to do my laundry. As for the empanadas, I didn't see any. I'm really not sure where this food and cool stuff is. Maybe I should have looked harder? I would recommend trying one of the numerous other laundromats around Greenpoint if you're just looking to get laundry done. read more

Ahhhhhhh no! They do not "launder" your clothes. They rinse them all together, maybe use a bit of detergent and then dry them in a commercial grade dryer which will shrink everything and set in all of the stains that were not washed out to begin with- but they will use lots of dryer sheets to make your clothes smell nice! Noooo. I am sorry but no. The people here are nice but I am very disappointed about how my clothes turned out. I have never had this problem before. Instead of clean clothes I now have clothes with set in stains which, underneath the smell of dryer sheets, still smell of sweat! Ahh. read more

Best wash and fold in the neighborhood, same day pickup if you drop it off early in the morning. I appreciate that they don't drench my clothes in perfumey detergent and I've never lost any items. Not the kind of service for hang dry or handwash items so I usually just take care of those myself. A+ for Corner Frenzy! read more

*hidden gem alert* yes, this is a laundromat. yes, they have a little food counter serving ice cream, hot dogs and assorted snacks, all seemingly legit. but listen up, this is very important: empanadas. this is the spot for empanadas. they are $1.50, plump, crispy, loaded with delicious fillings. They come with a little cup of tasty hot sauce. If you are lucky, they won't be sold out of the shrimp empanada. You have to go early for that one though. We used to live on Huron Street and this was our spot. 4 years ago we moved to Williamsburg (with laundry in the basement), but we continue to drive our giant bags of laundry over to the frenzy!! Why? Because they are the nicest people--they often give my son small toys and even gave my husband a bottle of perfume to give me on mother's day. It was J-Lo, but it actually smelled pretty good! Ha! The point is, they treat their customers well and fold your laundry (which is the worst part about doing laundry, right??) with expert care. Occasionally, little somethings get lost or we end up with someone else's socks, but it's totally worth it. They are the best!! Once, they were on vacation and we had to try the place across the street. Never again. I will wear dirty clothes until they return! read more

The best Empanadas I ever had. The price went up a quarter, but so well worth it. Their hot sauce is perfectly balanced. It gives a bit a vinegar kick at first, but the crunch and savory part of the empanada comes into play. Then a nice after kick of heat.
