He brought 3 guys over the next morning and did a pretty extensive trim of the vegetation in the front and back, which took roughly 5 hours of work. Jaime and his crew are the BEST! Since I didn't know Jaime, I checked him out on California State Contracting License Board. Both his license and insurance are valid (which are sometimes is hard to find these days). Jaime came and gave us a great quote, and we were good to go! He showed up two days later on time with three other guys and took out three trees completely (Mexican palm, dead apricot tree, strawberry tree). He was supposed to take one tree out, but they found that the stump grinding machine would not fit because of the slope. In exchange, they took out a different tree at the top of my hill that was hitting power lines (which is the tree I wanted gone more in the first place). All other trees were trimmed - huge loquat tree, two huge white mulberry trees, a lemon tree, and a general cleanup (about as per our conversation). He told us sprinklers would be damaged in the process by one tree, but we were warned in advance so there were no surprises (trees were entwined with sprinkler system).
