Simply put, this theater is awesome. From top to bottom, this renovated space has slowly turned into the best movie experience in all of Baton Rouge. I can't begin to express how much I enjoy coming here, to put it mildly, I would watch every film here if I could. First and foremost, this place is spotless. It's possible that I was just lucky every time, but the theaters I'm used to going to have stains in the carpets, puddles in the bathrooms, and random food spills in the theaters themselves. Not here. Everything has that fresh and new feeling, which certainly does not hurt. This is a place for everyone. There is a pretty impressive arcade for gamers, a small cordoned off area for the drinkers, and plenty of parking. The staff is young but professional, unlike the many lackadaisical teens who typically work in places like this. Tickets aren't insanely expensive and they have a fountain soda machine (self serve!) and even have cheetos flavored popcorn. (#1) The screens are an especially impressive space. An endless array of comfortable leather seats with recline ability and a mini table rest line up the place. And of course, the sound system and picture quality is outstanding for the ideal theater experience. No mistake about it, this is a 5 star establishment. I went last night with some friends. I didn't get any food so I can't comment on that, but a friend got nachos that came with a LOT of cheese. The layout was different than a chain theater, and I quite liked the change. The tickets for the movie I watched were only $10 on the second night of release. The seats were quite nice, not only reclining but also came with a swivel tray and cup holder. read more

My husband and I were just passing time waiting on a friend so we dropped in at Celebrity Theatres to play a few games. Midway through our Zombie game after swiping to add more money, the lights were cut off on us. I have a screen shot of the time it says they were suppose to close, which we double checked before going in yet no one informed us they were closing early. There was a guy locking a door, but we assumed they were just locking one side early and some stores like walmart do at a certain time. We have money left on the card that we will go back tomorrow and spend while we make our final visit to file an official grievance. I've been living in Shenedoah for the last 15 years.... when it was still the Grand Cinema. I liked it then, and I effing LOOOOOVE it now, even more than I enjoyed it before the renovations. I love bringing my children to the theatre, especially on half priced arcade play, or on a Tuesday for booze and ticket specials. (They have a fricken whiskey slushy machine, helloooooooo!) A little birdie told me that they plan to expand the theatre into an entertainment center, adding in a bowling alley and restaurant, etc. I'm super excited to see Shenedoah/Lake at White Oaks area of town have a premier entertainment center and community theatre. Their arcade is SO FUN and I honestly like their arcade better than other theatres and quarters since it's more fun for both adults and children in my opinion. (The popcorn is better too, they even have Cheetos popcorn) The manger and staff are SOOOO hospitable and incredibly educational - I got to learn all about their Dolby complete interactive sound system compared to other local theatres (and how Hollywood ticket sales works) and I will forever be loyal to Celebrity Theatres for their hospitality! I've been coming to Celebrity loyally on every holiday as a day date with my siblings and it's a tradition e slays look forward to. The staff has NEVER EVER been rude or on a bad mood, and had always been super sweet and accommodating, and suggestive when asked questions on their opinions about current films showing. Good god I love this business, and every time I end up going to AMC or Cinemark, I end up disappointed compared to both customer service and sound quality. Great job, Celebrity Theatres. Keep making Baton Rouge proud! read more

Celebrity theaters has consistently offered: plenty of parking, great customer service, and a phenomenal movie experience (big, reclining seats!) And on Tuesdays, all movies are $5! If you're here for the arcade games, theres enough to keep you entertained for 1/1.5 hrs or so and management maintains them regularly. This location is far from me but I always make the drive here almost weekly because of how pleasant it is to be here. I highly recommend it. read more

While this may still be Baton Rouge's smallest movie location it certainly is as modern as all of the larger locations with its reserved seating, larger/comfortable seating and selling of alcohol. With that I guess this is a hidden and quality gem for the Shenandoah --Jones creek area subdivisions. Along with its recent upgrades, there have been upgrades to the concession area, bathroom area and to the video/arcade games offered to the visiting public. This is written in December, 2017, and this location is also expanding to eventually offer more than movies in an effort to be more than just a movie theater---looking forward to it. read more

I love the renovations! This is a very nice and comfortable neighborhood theater. Not huge, but not tiny either. You can order your tickets online and pick your seats before you ever get there. They have the super comfy leather recliners. They make for a very enjoyable movie experience. There are also a lot of adult friendly beverages, including the new alcoholic icee type drinks. (Coke mixed with rum, jack, crown, or one other that I can't remember). I didn't try it but they did look good. There's also a frozen margarita, daiquiri, and wine, I think beer too. What I thought was super yummy was the Cheeto popcorn. Overall this was a great experience. The only down side I would say would be that the bathroom is located in the front of the building...so if you're worried about missing parts of the bathroom, be sure to go before it starts! Oh and also, what I thought was awesome was that there were very little previews when our movie started. It has a start time of 4pm and the movie was actually playing by 4:08. Not sure if this is standard or not but it did feel good to not have to deal with 20-30 minutes of previews. read more

Such a cute (small) movie theater... the ticket prices are good - cheaper to buy in person vs online. The service was great! They have a few games/mini arcade and they serve some adult drinks too. Concession food prices are typical of any movie theater. The seats are comfy and they recline. There are only maybe 6 rows of seats so it's intimate and feels kinda luxe. They showed an LSU game before so hopefully they'll start showing some NFL games (maybe they do but I'm new to BR). read more

I didn't know what to expect and I'm glad that I chose to experience this theater. It's really clean with ample parking. They have their Tuesday $5 movie day and that is a major bonus. I came to see Tyler Perry's Madea...Funeral. With the oversized arcade games, it is definitely a place for the adult-kid and for children. The birthday celebration area is cute as well. Nice manager and staff here. Other than a lady sitting in the wrong seat, which had others sitting in the wrong seat, and her answering her phone twice during the movie, it was a great experience in comfortable chairs. I almost wanted to stay and watch another movie, but I'll be back another time. The only negative I notice right now is that there's no sign alerting visitors of this place and it's tucked away from the street. Nice venue! read more

Very impressed with the remodel. The front arcade is awesome and the individual theaters are great. Although they are on the smaller side (which I actually prefer), they have reclining leather seats and trays for your popcorn during the movie. They even have flaming hot Cheeto popcorn.....how cool is that!?! Definitely plan to come here again for my next moviegoing experience. read more

First time here with a group of friends, and limited experience and therefore review. Didn't play any of the arcade games, but looks like a very big selection and all functioning with a birthday party area if your thing. Food items limited to usual theater staples with some marketing additions, like a Cheetos popcorn (didn't try so go find out if it's good!). Has alcohol options too, including a boozy Icee (also didn't try, but will be back for that one!). Regarding the theater itself, in and out with easy ticket retrieval and virtually no wait. Seating were nice with good spacing and reclining options, but a few seats with some wear. Theater picture and sound quality was overall impressive. Although smaller than say an AMC, I would say much better visually (didn't look like a faded picture - looking at you mall AMC). I will definitely be back! read more

This is me and my 5 year old son favorite place to go. A theater with a great arcade! The theater has comfortable recliner chairs. And..... all the games actually work!!! Great arcade prices and prizes. The theater is always clean. The staff is friendly which is hard to find this day and age. They are prompt. It's like the Chick-fil-A of movie theaters! Now this is a theater experience at a great price. It had probably been 2 years since I last visited this place and there have been some major improvements since. You walk in and you can immediately tell this is better than your standard movie theater. There's arcade games throughout, self service machines, and your food court area. I didn't get a chance to play any of the arcade games but they all seemed clean, and to be working. Had already bought my tickets online so didn't need the self service ticket machines. They have Cheeto popcorn!!! I mean... popcorn+Cheetos= delicious. Their Dolby Cinema rooms are amazing. Huge reclining comfortable chairs. Crystal clear sound and picture. Best thing is if you get drinks the refill station is right outside the door, no long walk for refills. Wish I was closer because I'd definitely go there for every movie. CHEETO POPCORN!!! read more

Great local theatre by my house! I went here a couple of times to play arcade games like Crossy Road (my favorite game) and watch "The Post" and "Ready Player One". The theatre was mostly clean and organized even during the reconstruction - the theatre looks much better now that the reconstruction is almost done. I can't wait to see the new arcade area. The service is awesome as well. The assistant manager there on Saturday night and Sunday night is very nice and accommodating. Overall, I enjoyed my times here and would definitely come back. read more

Wow. What an upgrade. This was once one of my least favorite theaters to go to. It smelled like an old shoe, seats were itchy, and it just had an old outdated feel. I thought for sure that it would end up closing. But then they reopened it as a Celebrity and the new upgrade is amazing. The seats are super comfortable and roomy. The customer service was easy and quick. The theaters were clean and smelled good. What a great experience. Fantastic job Celebrity, definitely a homerun on the upgrade. I'm told that they will be adding a bar as well. That would definitely be another good step in the already nice upgrade. read more

Wow! This newly renovated theatre is so nice. I haven't been to the movies in probably 8 years. They really did an awesome job on the renovation. Chair quality is 10/10 and they recline! Snack selection is decent. 4 stars because they charge an extra .75¢ if you want your nacho cheese all over the chips rather than in the corner slot. Seems a little drastic considering a nacho and drink option is already $10.75. Popcorn was good though read more

Saw a 3:30pm movie on a Monday. They were out of cheese, pickles and coke in at least one machine. The bathrooms were disgusting. I understand the weekend could be rough, but I would think the bathrooms could be clean by 6:30 on Monday which is when I left, and they were still dirty. I loved this place even when it was the grand cinema. I've always been a super loyal customer here. It definitely updated recently and it fits in with more of the upscale movie theaters in town. They have an open bar and have your original movie theater food like popcorn and nachos. They have games galore- this will be a kids dream theater for sure. They really updated this theater. I love the new look. New seats, concession stand, games...etc. If you are looking for a new updated theater without the big crowds this is the place to come. They even server alcohol. They have arcade games in the front of the theater which is nice if you are waiting for your movie. The seats recline back which is a nice feature. Celebrity Theater (formerly Grand Cinema) is a newly revamped locally-owned movie theater. Renovations (made in the latter part of 2016) include reclining, oversized leather seats with individual swiveling serving trays; an arcade; the ability to reserve your seats in advance online (my favorite new feature); and impeccably clean bathrooms. They are also serving alcohol now (although I don't think they have a full service bar). I heard that they eventually plan on adding meals (beyond just popcorn, candy, nachos and hotdogs). I love this theater because there is ample parking, the staff are always very friendly, and the facilities are very clean. It's like a little hidden gem in Baton Rouge! read more
