I went last night with my friends. We waited an hour and a halfish in line before we made it, so not too bad of a line, especially for Friday the 13th. While you're waiting in line some of the actors will walk by, which was cool. I was pretty scared to do it after a traumatic haunted house experience when I was younger, but to be honest, the waiting room inside was spookier than the actual contents? Like most of the jump scares didn't get me, especially after we caught up to the group in front of us and they triggered the jump scares first. But the feeling of dread of being jump scared and looking around each corner in order to try and find the actors or props was the scariest bit. The sets were pretty cool, but I was in flight mode so I didn't really get an opportunity to admire them all. There were some gory rooms, and also some safe rooms to catch your breath. My friends who didn't want to go in the haunted house went to the concert, which was pretty good according to them. There was also clowns who fire danced. $40 is a little steep, and I'm not sure if I'll go again, but seeing the inside made the price seem reasonable.

I have been to many haunted houses throughout the country and 13th Gate is by far one of the best. I make video reviews of all my travels and you can see the review of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qoAVB7Z69U&feature=youtu.be The layout is so well thought out. Huge set pieces and memorable characters make this haunt so immersive and wonderful. I highly recommend going. As you've seen with other reviews, Yes! the line is insanely long. Get there early or get VIP. You won't regret it!

The wait time is extremely long, getting VIP tickets as definitely worth it. They also have a blood bank drive parked on the side of the line, if you give blood you get for VIP tickets. It's not tickets to get into the park it is just the upgrade. They let a lot of people in at the same time, so there is really not a lot of surprise scares, but the attraction and decorations are pretty cool. It's almost a 40 minute walk through the whole place, So it's a very long haunted house. Great make up, And costumes.

We finally rounded the corner of the building after waiting about a half hour! Not as long a wait as it looks!

My best friend bought 13th gate tickets for my birthday! It was one of the best things she could have ever done! We absolutely LOVED IT! We give it a 10/10. We were so surprised as to how long the actual walkthrough was. Not at all what we initially thought. We thought it would never end. Lol. There were so many different elements to the attraction and the whole thing was really impressive. We also visited Necropolis. I was not too impressed by this particular attraction. Only because we went into 13th Gate first. Necropolis would have been a good warmup leading into 13th gate. But all in all we definitely enjoyed ourselves. I may make The 13th Gate an annual birthday tradition! Go out and enjoy!

Line around the corner was worth the vip pass to skip line. Many things to do between a live band , ax throw, vr experience, and performers. Really cool haunted house with many actors to scare threw out the walk.

The last two years I went it was fantastic. This year I was extremely disappointed. Complaints: The wait took just as long as my wait last year (2 hrs & 45 min), & the line was 3x shorter. The doors open at 6:30, & I was there for 7 pm on a Sunday. Also, when they start to divide the line a lot more people behind us went in before us. They section everyone off before you enter. Well a character goes to let us in, & asks, "Are you ready?" The girl in front replies, "No" so she put the chain back up & went to let all the other rows next to us go first. Added an addition 10 minutes of waiting. I was not happy about that. There were not scary characters outside going through the lines like before. It was hot as hell. They could afford to put more fans in the lines once you enter the coveted part as well as in the building. I have to say I didn't get scared once. That could be because 1. I was the first one in the line 2. I remembered some things from previous years 3. I didn't get to witness anyone get scared once we caught up to the group ahead of us, which is half the fun. I didn't find there to be as many scares either. Lastly, the ending was lame. Normally they scare you & people run out. This time we all just walked out. Pros: The costumes & characters are amazing. The themes in the rooms are fantastic. They added a Wizard of Oz portion, which was well done. I felt like I was walking through a museum (not scary unfortunately). It takes about 30 minutes to go through. Although I loved the graveyard across the street better, which they knocked down, I still enjoyed the new setup. They have ax throwing, clown dunking, escape rooms, & virtual stuff for $5 each. On Fridays & Saturdays they have bands & a bar. All in all it's worth checking out. Just expect a long wait. Price: $30/person or $55/person VIP (still a 45+ min wait)

The indoor queue that lines you up for one of the multiple hellevators. It's basically Tower of Terror on steroids.

This is the best haunted house you will ever go to. If you disagree, go to it and get back to me. The sets are extraordinarily elaborate. The crew who build the house work on real Hollywood movie sets during the off season which gives you a clue to how realistic and perfect everything looks. Their first scene, The Hellevators, can very well compete with Disney's Tower of Terror Themeing. I have no clue how they fit everything inside their building. There is everything from underwater submarine sets to swamp areas. The staff has always been very "friendly." That's in quotes because most are in character so they might not appear very friendly at first, but they have always been helpful to me when needed. The line to get in is usually rather long, though they try to move it along as fast as possible while giving everyone the experience they deserve. My tip is to go early or go on a slower weeknight early in the season.

It would be nice if someone did some pest control. We were absolutely ripped apart by fleas or mosquitos or chiggers or something waiting to purchase tickets; which also made the whole annoying process more irritating. Once in line, things were better. There's no kind of entertainment like line actors or even a video screen so dull but, the line moved pretty quickly and we only had about an hour wait. The sets were really well done and the atmosphere was great. The make up was terrible. Several times I was looking at an actor and just thinking 'what is going on with your face'. I know this was opening weekend so maybe they just haven't settled into their roles yet but the acting was also pretty bad. Many seemed to think the best way to scare people was just standing in front of them and screaming. One girl actually said 'help me'. Overall I enjoyed it.

I don't have a lot of experience with haunted houses etc but this was fairly well done from a structural point of view. The buildings and maze and props all well done, actors were fine not great. What I don't like beyond the add-on pricing was the fact we got here as they opened on a slow Tuesday night before just before Halloween. They coral you into different lines depending on the level of ticket you get. The basic entry had only about 50 people in front of us. Even though nobody was in the fast pass lines they didn't send people in efficiently or speedily. They made people wait and what should have take 5-10 minute took 45 min +. No bathroom options once you get inside. If you need to go as I didn't not expecting that wait for so few people you need to back out through the line to the porta potty outside and then swim your wave back through the line which at that point had grown 4x due to their inefficiency . Apparently they are trying to prove a point if you don't spend up to any of the higher price points they WILL make you wait even if there are no fast pass ticket holders and no backup. Once inside it probably only takes about 15-20 minutes to go through. Parking while easy the night we went but unorganized and people were parking behind cars to where they couldn't get out so be mindful how you park. Was it fun? MEH it was ok. Was I scared? Not at all, but got a laugh out of it. Overall it's too expensive, not well organized and punish you if you don't fast pass. I wouldn't return.

We meet up at the Voodoo Lounge, where there is a ticket office in the back room. We didn't live the bar--smelled a little bit like a sewer and the hurricanes were super sweet and kind of weak. But we did have but one get one, so wasn't that upset. The tour was great. We saw some interesting, haunted places and heard the history behind them. We didn't linger too long at any one place. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny, although he may have been a tad bit too heavy on the Catholic Church jokes. The tour ended at the LaLaurie house, and our guide shared a story about a little girl on who was recently on his tour who started crying and asked why there were dead people on the balcony. Spooky! I was so intrigued by what he said that I started looking up stories about Delphine LaLaurie and the haunting of the house. When I got home, I even started watching season 3 of American Horror Story, which has the character Delphine LaLaurie (accurate? No. Fun? Yes!). This was a fun way to spend the evening. There was an obnoxiously drunk guy on our tour, and our guide handled him well.

Maybe part of the mistake was booking a ghost tour in the French Quarter after dark, but even with that expectation, this experience missed the mark. The "headquarters" is attached to a bar, so when you arrive it feels more like a pregame party than the start of a guided tour. There were easily a couple hundred people packed between the bar, sidewalk, and parking lot, with no clear direction or organization. Total chaos. There was a long line that I assumed was for drinks, but it turned out to be for wristbands. No signage, no guidance, no communication. About five minutes after our scheduled start time, I was convinced our group had already left. Eventually, someone came out and started calling groups, but it felt completely disorganized. Once the tour finally got going, it became clear this wasn't really about ghost stories, it was more about drinking, joking around, and keeping things light. There was even a mid-tour bar stop, which just added to the number of heavily intoxicated people and took away from any kind of immersive or historical experience. This is where I left. To be fair, maybe a different time or a different company would've been better, but this one felt more like a bar crawl with a ghost theme than an actual ghost tour.
