We were here to watch the stage production of The Screwtape Letters. The theater was nice, and there was plenty of room in the rows for passing each other as long as we were standing. The seats were comfy, the building's temp was fine, and the experience was really wonderful. Drinks and snacks are available. I had a couple beers at a premium price, but they were cold and tasty, so no complaints there! ;) Everyone I had a chance to speak with was very friendly and kind. If you have a chance to check out The Screwtape Letters, I highly recommend the play. If you have a chance to check out the River Center, take it and have a great time! read more

Went to Raising Cane's River Center for a Baton Rouge Zydeco game, and overall it was a fun experience. The game itself was enjoyable, and the atmosphere during the event was lively, which made for a good time. That said, the arena itself is pretty basic. It does the job just fine, but there's nothing particularly memorable or standout about the venue. It feels more functional than anything else. Overall, a solid place to catch an event, but don't expect anything too special from the arena itself. read more

Nice civic center turned into a bowling alley. It's different then what I'm used to when going to Vegas. For all bowlers they know the difficulty that a Nationals shot presents. This one was more little easier. The civic center is not a huge place but definitely can hold a lot of different events to pull in big crowds. Parking is street parking by meter and there's a parking garage behind it, that is a flat fee of $10. Good visit, good bowling, lots of fun read more

The greeting/security staff at the river center are a bit rude. The clear bag policy is valid, but I find it insane that they don't have any lockers for people to leave their bags. Most large event centers have lockers that we can pay for if we accidentally bring a regular bag. This small mishap led to us walking 10 minutes back to our car, In terms of the actual ice skating rink, it pretty nice. But the lack of lockers and the attitude of the security people have really dampened our experience at the center. read more

I attended the 2025 USBC Open Championships here, at the river center. Before attending the event, family and friends all looked up the rules and regulations of the raising Cane River Center. It said that there are all these different rules and things in place, different policies. One of them was that each person walking into the stadium needed to have their belongings in a clear plastic bag, whether it was a purse or fanny pack, or Crossbody or whatever. We noticed a lot of inconsistencies. Security didn't seem all that tight. It was kind of a pain in the butt, to me, in my opinion, that we be asked to move all our belongings into a clear plastic stadium bag, but it never get looked at or really even checked. I understand that bowlers were able to bring in backpacks and what not because of their different Bowling supplies and equipment that were necessary for their tournament participation. But for the rules to seem so lax and security measures, not really being in place, I don't know how safe we really were there. Also, the security guard are mostly socializing with one another during their time there. I was amazed at the concession stand. Not only were they super overpriced but their food offerings actually were pretty impressive. They had things like nachos and hotdogs, corn dogs, pretzels, etc. bottles of water were about $3.75. Monster energy drinks I believe were $7.50 or $7.75. A shot of alcohol I believe, the starting price was about $10. Other mixed drinks had a variety of prices. Cut water was another popular drink that was offered in addition to Michelob ultra and other beers. Beers were also sold by the bucket. Snacks were sold at the concession stands as I mentioned. One thing that bothered me was the cleanliness of the restrooms. It looked like the restrooms needed more attention. Soap dispensers needed soap put into them. Toilet seats needed to be cleaned wipe down refreshed and sanitary napkin receptacles cleared out. paper towels and other trash needed to be removed from the trashcan on the floor. The other thing, while I was in the restroom with my little one, the lights began to flicker and of course, this caused them to be a little freaked out. They're just a variety of small little things that needed to be touched up or paid attention to, but I really think that for an event like this, everything should've been in tip top shape. You have people coming from all over the nation to participate in this tournament at the least you can do is repair the things that needed repairing. There were even some leaks in the ceiling. So periodically as you walk through the stadium, you might see a random bucket laying out there. Weird. read more

I went for a hockey game, and this venue was perfect! It is right in downtown BR with plenty of parking nearby (both paid and free) and tons of restaurants to go to before or after any event you attend in the river center. I've been to the river center on so many occasions so I couldn't believe that they turned part of this into a hockey rink! There were concessions, apparel sites, clean bathrooms and comfortable seats. I wish the concessions were better, but they did offer beer, alcohol, wine. They were pricey but I liked how the option was available. Everything was super clean. From the seats to the bathrooms to the entrances, I was very impressed that I didn't see trash anywhere. I also like how the surround system was working, and it seemed that there were no problems with anything throughout the entire night. I come to the river center all the time and will be back for any event!! read more

We went to another hockey game and as always the ambiance is fresh and clean! The service is amazing even when very crowded. The food is great but this time we ate before we got to the game. But better believe he got some popcorn while there. read more

If you purchase front row tickets for a concert, just know the staff will not remove any people who come and stand in FRONT of you! Security is nowhere around when you're being pushed because of an altercation between other people who are standing in front of your front row seats! And FINALLY... If you're a woman over 40 who does not want to see women get on stage and turn to the crowd to twerk and show ALL of their uncovered butts, then this is NOT the concert venue for us. read more

Went to a comedy show for Theo Von here. Beautiful venue but not for anything like a comedy show. People needing concessions and bathroom making entire rows standing interrupted the show. Then upon exit, the poor staffing they use didn't gov direction the ONLY exit and the entire theater was like ants stop one another causing anxiety and loud slurs about it. If there were an emergency or fire people would absolutely be hurt. Restrooms were not kept up it was a beautiful venue good show with bad service. Won't be returning ever paid way to much for it read more

Our first (and only so far) visit to the facility was for the 2019 ball of the Karnival Krewe du Louisiane. No complaints. It was fairly easy from the signage for our Lyft driver to figure out which door to drop us off at. Inside, they had the attendees flowing easily into the venue area set up for the ball. There appeared to be sufficient security in the entrance area. The venue was clean as the evening started (and it wasn't their fault as that changed while the night wore on). I can see why the Krewe rents the facility. read more

Very nice venue right across from the street the beautiful river walk on the Mississippi River. A lot to SR and do in this area of Baton Rouge. There is also a sketchy casino across the street if You dare go in and toss some change around, and also the floating museum and battle ship the USS LOUISIANA Floats just across the street from the center as well. You'll enjoy this area no matter what your tastes and desires may be. read more

This is a review for the river center as a wedding venue. Everything about the evening was easy and convenient. The parking garage attached to the building provided great parking for the guests. The wedding itself was held in front of those gorgeous windows over looking the Mississippi River at sunset. We were then taken dowstairs for dinner which was executed perfectly everyone already had a plate of salad at their table along with tea, water, and rolls. Everyone received dinner and dessert at the same time. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Perfect wedding venue ! read more

Decided to come back to this arena for the third show. My first was the 90's tour with Next, Jagged Edge, 112, Guy, and Dru Hill. The next one was for The Funny As Ish Tour with Mike Epps and crew. Tonight, it's the Farewell Tour for Madea. Tonight's ticket was last minute and I am on the floor with a huge discount. I'm almost center to the stage and I hope this was a great choice to sit on the floor versus in the stands. It's been over 20 years since I saw Tyler Perry's Madea in person... Totally enjoyed the venue today. I had the pleasure of viewing the Nutcracker performance with my little one. Even with the wishy washy rain, a comfortable temperature was maintained throughout the performance. The women and men who were serving as ushers were very kind and didn't mind the extra care they had to put into assisting families with their little ones. We visited the restroom probably 3 times and each time it was clean. We plan to visit this venue again soon. read more

For the most part this relates to 2 staff members, I had floor seats for Cody Jinks, sat on an aisle, as I was taking pics a few Snap chats, one of the employees there came running up grabbing my hand and phone yelling at me not to take video. I asked why this was as, clearly hundreds of others were, and I was at the same show in Beaumont the night before and this was allowed by THE ARTIST. She replied the artist doesn't allow this. I further explained I was at the very show the evening before and I showed her how I recorded the whole show in segments then she proceeded to yell and say "No recording". So she came up w/ a uniformed Officer and Security Guard to tell me this. Best thing is everyone around was recorded, so I continued on out....As for the venue, it was WAY TO WARM inside, chilly outside but WAY to warm. Cody Jinks even said so. read more

I have been here before and I've always had good experiences. Tonight we came to see the Nutcracker, A tale from the Bayou. It was an excellent ballet. The actors and musicians did a phenomenal job. We took our children into my surprise they sat still and quiet while they watch the performance. There were a few part where they used a snowmachine to blow snow into the crowd for a fact I think everyone children and adults included really enjoyed that effect. Definitely looking forward to more performances here. We sat in the upper balcony and I personally thought the seats were comfortable. The view was very good as a gave us a chance to see the entire stage from above. If you do not like it walking upstairs I suggest you get your seats on the lower level, as I felt like it was a never ending staircase to get to our seats. Lol. But all in all it was a wonderful experience. read more

Opened the doors 15 minutes late and didn't allow us to bring in pepper spray. Made us throw it out!When we finally got in the ticket scanner wasn't working and only one line. Very poorly organized. Also no railing down stairs in arenas. Wouldn't want to come back here for an event. read more
