The food is consistently delicious, which is something you don't always expect from a neighborhood dive bar. What really sets Phil Brady's apart is the atmosphere. It's a true blues dive bar with character, great people, and some of the best live music in Baton Rouge. They have live bands most nights of the week, and whether you're there to listen, dance, or just enjoy the vibe, there's always something happening. Most of the bartenders are incredibly friendly, and the regulars make everyone feel welcome. It's the kind of place where strangers quickly become friends. There's a relatively long bar with barstools and comfortable lounge seating in the main room. There is a small patio outback for the beautiful days, and there's an upstairs (usually reserved for private parties) with its own bar and an overlook of the Mississippi River. They are open everyday and usually offer a seasonal cocktail menu for Christmas, Halloween etc. If you are downtown looking for a craft cocktail, this is a great place to sit back and enjoy a fresh ingredient cocktail.

You are parking at your own risk, so don't leave valuables out. Staff is always there to greet you with a smile. I've never encountered any employee there who didn't seem to be in a pretty good mood. The floor space is large with lots of standing room. Depending on the event, they'll throw some high top tables around. There are two bars, each pretty big, and the bartenders are very attentive, looking around for the next person to serve (which is good because I am short and can get lost under some people). The drinks are a bit pricey, but the liquor is pretty good with a variety. The private events I have attended were well run and staff members were very helpful for those who rented it. The public events are also very well done. Chelsea's Live brings in some pretty big names, so keep your eye out for future events. They also highlight local artists.
