Wait I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place!! Near me there are not many hookah spots that I personally like. Either they have great hookah but lack great food, vice versa. Cedars has both delicious food and great hookah. Food : where do I start !!??? My go to is the mix platter. The meat is so tender , so rich in flavor, I'm obsessed! I get side Arabic salad, it just brings all the flavors together so well! And you can't go wrong order their mint lemonade ! Such a perfect meal, along with some hookah ! (Mint blubbery is my favorite or green apple) I love this place because of how traditional it is. The ambience is great, if you're looking for a middle eastern spot with good food, hookah and music this is a must try restaurant. I suggest to go On a Friday, usually a live singer is there and it doesn't get better than that. But any day is a good day in Cedars , really !! You enjoy authentic middle eastern music and culture! To shed more light on this situation. I could care less if this helps the facility or not. I hope they learn from this. The reason for this review is because to charge $55 a head & total a $210 bill at the end of the night which is nothing crazy. What a shame! Me and my wife walked in at 12:30 pm, the restaurant was completely empty. We wanted to sit in the glassed area, next to a window. There was a big table and 3 other 6 seaters. The waiter refused to let us sit on any of those tables, mind you again this restaurant was completely empty there was a total 4 customers in this place and its 12:30 pm. Horrible customer service, didn't even acknowledge that we were upset and disappointed bc the waiter made no sense of not letting us sit on a table that we wanted. The place looks very unassuming and even a bit rundown, but the food tastes very good, especially the chicken shish kabob. It was soft and juicy with nice marination. My husband loved the lamb kabob. The entrees came with salad or soup and the lentil soup was delicious enough as I can compare with similar soups from other cuisines. The lady who served us and was also behind the counter was sweet and extremely nice. Overall, recommended if you are looking for a Middle Eastern taste in the area. read more

Really enjoyed this spot. The hookah was great and so was the food. I like how they served the appetizers fast and took their time with the main course. We ate outside and the weather was hot, but we were shaded by the outside tents. BYOB. The dips were pretty good. However I've had way better hummus in my day. The mixed meat platter was fantastic. Very tender and flavorful. I got to pick either grilled veggies, salad, rice or fries. Nice options, but I went for the grilled veggies. I tasted the salmon as well and it was great. I came here for my friend's birthday and we all had a great experience! The food is phenomenal and the service was extremely professional. My friend had reserved a table as she was hosting a large party and everything was perfectly set up. We also had hookahs for the whole table and the servers were always refilling it and checking on the coals, so we had an excellent experience! The servers and DJ also work very well together in terms of shouting out birthdays and coordinating with the cake cutting etc. Great experience! read more

Cedars is my local spot for Lebanese food. I recommend the chicken kabob platter and mixed grill platter. The meat is grilled perfectly and is nice and tender. You have a choice of sides. I recommend the bulgar. I also like the falafel sandwich which has a good amount of tasty falafel and fresh veg. Pita is soft and fresh too. Prices are very reasonable. I've only done takeout here, but I've seen the interior and it's spacious and modern. You wouldn't expect it based on the exterior. The service at the front is friendly. They also offer hookahs with a variety of flavors to choose from. Smoking hookah brings back memories from my carefree days. This is one of the rare spots in jersey that is worth every penny. The food is AMAZING. My go-to is the hummus, calamari and stuffed grape leaves, recently tried their wings and they were SO good. It's BYOB, and being a college student this was a huge plus, they put your bottle in ice and provide glasses and chasers. Their hookah flavors are also so good, I would ask your server their recommendation because they know what they're talking about. I also think they require their servers to be devilishly handsome and charming, our server Mark was not only very attentive but very very cute I've been to the nights when they had belly dancers and a DJ and the whole place has a nice chill club feel. A lot of hookah lounges try this and it just feels dirty and gross but Cedars does it with class. I've been here a couple of times now and the last two have just been a really bad experience. For one the service is ridiculously slow. They took over an hour and half just to bring our one plate. Also we were sitting outside and not once did one of the workers ask if we wanted to change our coals out. We had to call them over three times to remind them. I know their are many other places around that area like Beirut but they aren't an official Lebanese cuisine. Their chicken kebabs are well seasoned and perfectly cooked at the right temperature. The kufta is beyond amazing and go great with their slightly seasoned fries. The hummus... Idk what to tell you about this one except do not share it because you can't get enough. This is a good place. We came here on a sunday. The fried calamari was delicious! Super crispy and the side sauces were so good. I had grilled filet mignon cubes and my bf had the mixed grill. Came here for dinner. We made reservations and were told there would be a reserved event at 9, asking if we'd be done by then. We said sure, though already disappointed we wouldn't be there for the night life of the place. So we show up, and immediately felt ignored and unwelcome. It was weird. My bf went to get something (byob) and I ordered some apps. They came out in a decent amount of time. I had the grapes leaves, he had some meat and cheese dish. His was better lol Didn't care for the chick peas in the leaves. I ordered a wrap, he the meat trio dish. His was good, again mine was so so. Presentation was off too. Mine came out wrapped in paper like a to go order. What I got from this place was not what I expected. The tables are very tight- super close together and it's mostly an older crowd on a Friday night. Also, there is only valet and my car was given back to me with mud all over the driver's side. The food was pretty good I got a mixed grill with a salad as my side option... decent portion. It's also a plus that they give the vegetable and pita bread for every table. He hookah was mediocre, started getting smoky even after the man would change the coals after about 20 minutes, so we had to refill. This place was so much fun and the food was great. When I was growing up, we would always attend the Coptic church fundraising fairs to get platters of great Middle Eastern food. I would make sure to get lots of kibbe, which is so time consuming to make at home. The entire meal here (halal I believe) was on that par of excellence of lovingly homemade meals and desserts! The hospitality was wonderful, and as a surprise, after dinner the restaurant turns into a night club (sans alcohol but BYOB) featuring a belly dancer and dj.
