If I am not mistaken they use Al fakher so the answer would be no but I could be wrong

Is it normal to charge a gratuity fee for a party of 4 because I always thought it was 6?

Most of the restaurant in that area (also other areas with In NJ and NYC such as Bay ridge, astoria, Brighton beach .. etc.) charges gratuity regardless of how many people are in your party, I think patrons of these establishment come from regions…

The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I've ordered various things on the menu: hummus, lebneh, falafel wraps, falafel platters, baked kibbe platters, the green bean side, etc. All have been amongst the best Lebanese food I've tried. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

Translated from the Turkish language, meaning sultan, we have come to this family-owned/family-run establishment located on Hackensack Street since 2006 for Saturday dinner. The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant. Upon entering this hidden gem called Hünkar Restaurant as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff inside a cozy room, where ethnic pictures and decorations as well as the music all add to the vibe. A great view of the NYC skyline is visible from their enclosed back patio. Their menu features Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and serves alcohol. As an appetizer, we decided on the Kibbeh (Icli Kofte), Calamari (Kalamar), and Cigarette Borek (Sigara Boregi). For our main meal, we opted for Chicken Saute (Taouk Sote), Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab (Kuzu Sis Kebab), and Chicken Shish Kebab (Tavuk Kebab). All Kebab meal accompanied by rice, char-grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a small salad. Warm, fluffy pida bread with a crisp crust started our meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and is beautifully presented, from the fact that Turkish families from all over the area eat here. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional; our server was Akincan "John," the owners' son. The price was comparable to the area with the right portion. We can recommend this place.

It was good. The sandwich is a bit heavy and dry because of the French fries. It didn't really come with sauce. I wanted to point out a few things. If you don't want to dip your food into non-solid things, try the Cheese or Meat Arayess (stuffed pita pockets). If you need something crunchy, I'd skip the Fried Cheese and get the Cheese Borek instead (crunchy filo dough rolls stuffed with cheese and mint). For mains, get either the Chicken Kabab (more tender than any BBQed chicken has any right to be) or the Shish Kabab (filet mignon), or heck, even the Soujuk (beef sausage). All in all, this was a tasty meal that didn't make me hate schlepping to this totally inconvenient neck of NJ. Ngl, the low prices and big portions went a long way toward that.

We had my son's baptism at Cedars, and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out! Everyone had an amazing time and absolutely loved the food and the beautiful space. The food just kept coming, and honestly, each dish was better than the last! A special shoutout to Julianna, who was the MVP waitress! She went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were taken care of and even helped us get everything ready for the event. She was attentive, kind, and made the whole experience that much easier. Michel also deserves a huge thank you. He assured us that everything would be set up and ready for our son's baptism, and he absolutely did not disappoint. Everything was exactly as promised, and we felt completely taken care of from start to finish. This place doesn't even deserve one star. How do you require two people at a restaurant to spend a minimum of $25 a person?! Is this even LEGAL?! NO. I will NOT step foot in this establishment again as a customer, I come and enjoy the ambiance, but if I am told to spend a certain amount or more to just have a seat. No thank you I will find a better place. For everyone in the future with big groups I assure you, if you go somewhere else you're money will be well spent. People like myself like to spend money but I'm not gona spend in an establishment where I'm required to or I can't have a seat. I'm disgusted with the management team especially because they never used this rule with me before. Nor do they have a written sign where it says you there's a minimum. It's a "word of mouth" type of thing cough cough ILLEGAL hence why they don't have it written anywhere. read more

THEY ARE THIEVES. Do not recommend, terrible customer service, terrible table and seating. They gave us short change; we asked for fifty dollars in singles, then asked for another100$ in singles they only gave us the 100$ and claimed they gave us the 50$. and took away a sealed bottle of whiskey we brought in with us and claimed they didn't have it and the owner was rude and called us names and charged to fight us. He was held back by his secretary and guest. They also tried stealing birthday gifts that were under the table with us if it wasn't for me noticing the waiter who took them. They are the type of people to take advantage of influenced customers, be careful. Can't make this stuff up! read more

This place is truly amazing. From food to hospitality they are amazing. It was my first time trying Lebanese food and Hookah and it most definitely not be my last. My wife and I drive out from Orange County and had an amazing time. Rudy and associates have got themselves a sure winner. If your in the area or even if your not in the area (like myself) take a trip and experience Cedars. If your into Hookahs, they literally break open a BRAND NEW pack for you every single time. Not that nonsense of giving you a new mouth piece only like most places. Cedars takes pride in what they do and it shows in the product. If I had a chance to put zero, I would. The owner is so arrogant and cocky. The food so discusting. I'm from cali fo when I travel to NJ I went there. I went inside and sat down. I waited for 20 min then went to him and I said excuse me why no waiter is serving me. He said with zealous attitude did somebofy sat you down. I said no. He said here we go. I said eherrbis the sign. You should put the sign that explain that. I was so hungry I couldn't leave. I said it is ok so ordered food so so discusting oily. After visiting this place I felt like shit and the manager that guy I don't know where he had came from may be from the outer space no respect towards the customers no expression in his face. Last night I and my friends have been there at 11:30pm and we ordered 2 hookah and waited for more than 30 min and then they told us there is no hookah availabe now because the guy who make it was not there and then we went to talk to the manager and that guy spoke so rudely to us being their mistake he didn't tell us a sorry thats how they treat the customers!! read more

I am from the Paterson Clifton area and Most hookah places are around are small and stuffy. This place is quite the opposite. It is large and open creating a very comfortable environment. It doesn't stop there you can enjoy some middle eastern food as well as many other dishes. The sweet chicken and rice is an all time favorite of mine! Great any day of the week and if you're looking to get a little funky and enjoy a fun atmosphere grab a bottle and head over on Friday night! One of my regular places thumbs up! read more

My main and biggest complaint is that they didn't have the plastic tips for the hookah. It's super unhygienic. Offering those tips is the least you can do, especially if you're a place that charges $25 per hookah and has a $30 minimum on food alone. Otherwise, the belly dancer was entertaining, the music was great and so was the food. I suggest the lamb chops and spicy potatoes. Just don't expect to be able to have much conversation; the music was a bit too loud. read more

First time here on Saturday night with my wife and....we loved it. Incredible vibes....great music (loud, but we like that), high energy, great singers and a really great show put on by the belly dancer. The food was very good and the service was constantly coming around to make sure we were ok. I guess you know NOT to ask for the manager if there's trouble with your experience at this place. Clearly a lack of maturity. Anyway the food is good but always cold and comes out way too late. By far the best hookah and food in town. Great service, awesome atmosphere and the owners are always around to make sure everything goes smooth. I would recommend the mixed grill, chicken is always juicy and the meat is never over cooked. If you're looking for a good time, go there on Friday night. Anytime im in New Jersey i always come here. The service is great & the staff are friendly. The food is full of flavor and filling. The hookah on the other hand is very clean and they give new hoses which is the most important difference between all other hookah restaurants. Great service! Food is amazingly delicious; it tastes like it was made in the Middle East! The place was good when it first opened. But the worst recently. Food quality deteriorated. Service is the worst I have seen in USA. I asked 3 times for my entre and been told it's comming right up. If you looking for middle eastern cuisine Beriut restaurant at main street Clifton is much better option read more

I noticed people are giving all stars to this place, I believe neither they are naive or they do not know the cuisine . it was one of worst and awful experience we have with our family while we were visiting NJ in winter break. even my 7 year old sun started throwing after coming out from this place. read more
