    Creamed Spinach

My husband and I eloped and wanted a nice dinner to celebrate. We decided to head to Foxwoods and eat at Cedars. I've never been, he's gone years ago. Made a reservation for 4pm. We didn't know that you are sat in the lounge area before 4:30pm, so if you want a quieter experience that's a bit more private, make sure you reserve for after 4:30pm. Also they sat us right next to the door where it goes out to the bathroom and it was very distracting with people in and out every few minutes. Anyways, the food was fantastic! We started with the whipped ricotta. It was excellent. Just needs more toasted bread to go with it. They also served fresh rolls and butter which were very good. We both ordered the Prime Rib and it was the best we've ever had. The flavor was incredible. I also ordered a side of scallops to go with my prime rib and they were OK, but not worth the $24 for 2! Won't do that again! We also split 2 sides. The loaded mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach. Definitely large enough for two and excellent flavor. Will absolutely come back, just need to sit in a different part of the restaurant.

Came for the first time for an early dinner during the week, sat at the bar since the dining room wasn't open yet. The speciality cocktails both out on the digital menu and the printed menu were not available so I was a little disappointed. Wound up just going with a basic margarita which wasn't great. The experience did improve from there. The server was very friendly. For my entree I got the filet mignon medium well. The steak was delicious, very tender and very tasty. I would definitely go back for that. It was my birthday so I got a free dessert. I ordered the crème brûlée. Wasn't the best I had but didn't mind since it was free. Highlight was the service and the steak.

Stopped in for dinner before a show. Snagged a spot at the bar. They were busy. It took a long time to get the food and plates from the previous guest cleared away. Ordered wine, chowder, and Caesar salad with shrimp. The couple next to me got a Caesar salad and it looked really sorry- I was regretting my order. The wine was a very heavy pour. The chowder was fantastic- filled with both clams and potatoes. I asked for some bread as I had misgivings about the salad. It arrived with 3 very large grilled shrimp. Unfortunately the chef never had a good Caesar salad before- they would have never served this limp tasteless lettuce if they had. I had a few bites and gave up. So hard to make a bad salad but they did.

Came here for a birthday dinner, the ambiance was nice but the service was average. The food was only slightly above average, not quite worth the price (except for the mac and cheese, that was great). Whipped potatoes especially were average, they needed salt pretty badly. Overall the experience was good however I feel like there are better options at Foxwoods at similar price points.

My wife and I were hungry for lunch at the casino . We looked at the menu and decided to eat here . The servers were knowledgeable and very personable. The prime rib sandwich was very tender and tasty. I had the lobster roll that was loaded with fresh lobster. It must be a good place because Jay Leno was eating here also at the same time!!!

Superior service. Our waitress was one of the hardest working ever! Constantly filling our drinks and hustling for our food. Enjoyed the ribeye. Good portion size and great Caesar's salad. The sides were excellent. Steak was cooked just right. Desserts were a bit smaller and the only flavor of ice cream was vanilla. Still excellent steakhouse.

Prime rib and french fries. Entree came with a popover.

Cedars has been at Foxwoods for many years and has not lost its touch. We were in the area on a Saturday night and decided to go to the casino for dinner. We were lucky to get a timely reservation. We were seated promptly. The one negative was our waitress did not tell us about the evening specials and we wouldn't have known they existed had we not heard the waiter at the table next to us telling his table about them. We didn't order appetizers, just entrees and side dishes. My husband and I both ordered prime rib. I opted for the roasted brussel sprouts. The sprouts were well cooked and loaded with pieces of meaty bacon. The entrees came with popovers, which aren't a favorite of ours. I broke a piece off to try it, but left the rest of it behind. We were both happy with our meals and the holiday decor was absolutely beautiful. We will be happy to return in the future.

We happened to visit on Tuesday, which meant it was Taco Tuesday - and if they're still running this special, definitely take advantage of it! For $25 per person, you get unlimited tacos. My boyfriend and I decided to give it a try, and we definitely didn't regret it. There were eight different taco options to choose from: scorpion classic, classic chicken, carne asada, al pastor, crispy Baja, adobo shrimp, scorpion chicken, and pork belly. My favorites were easily the crispy Baja and the adobo shrimp. Honestly, for me to pick a fish taco over a steak taco says a lot! The crispy Baja was perfectly crispy and topped with guacamole and cholula cream, which made every bite flavorful, light, and well balanced. If you're someone who enjoys spicy food, the adobo shrimp is a must. It packed more heat than I expected, and I loved every bite. We also shared an order of fries, which came seasoned with taco seasoning and cotija cheese. The fries themselves were hot and crispy, but a little underwhelming with only a sprinkle of cotija cheese. We were not too much of a fan over the taco seasoning on the fries. The drinks were pretty strong, so this is a good spot if you're looking for late-night food and cocktails. On top of that, even though it took a while for the tacos to come out, the service was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, the Scorpion Bar's tacos exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend visiting for the tacos, especially if the Taco Tuesday event is still available. You'll definitely get your money's worth! -Cris

The place is loud, flashy, and absolutely convinced it's the main character... even if the food is giving more supporting cast energy. Sure, the décor screams "Flavortown," but the actual flavors? So, uh....Junior's Restaurant & Bakery (not to be confused with Junior's Coffee Bakery just outside…read morethe lobby) is a casual sit-down dining experience which seems to emulate a decor crossing between Denny's and Whataburger. I realize I'm probably the only one who will ever make that comparison, but I'm sticking with it. Picture cozy booths but with the color orange. I think it's also safe to assume the majority of folks come here for breakfast. Ergo, that's what I'll be reviewing today. The menu is what you'd expect. On this day, I was in the mood for an omelet. Small caveat upfront for anyone with the faint of stomach: their omelets are composed of 4...possibly 5 eggs! On top of that, they STILL allow you to order one with an extra egg, if you wish. Crazy! :o I played it safe and went with a standard ham & [cheddar] cheese omelet. And like....here's the thing: proper omelet etiquette calls for shredded cheese, regardless of what type. The reason for this is so that when you fork your way in for a bite, the cheese doesn't stretch on for ages like one continuous string that won't quit until you chop it off with a knife (or perhaps a machete). What I suspect they did was either used long strips of cheddar or (perish the thought) stuck a couple of whole cheddar slices into the omelet and called it a day. Needless to say, it makes the whole eating experience hella awkward. Taste wise, it wasn't bad at all; though, it could have benefited from a bit of seasoning. 8 out of 10, be sure to enjoy with a knife. The sides were...fine. Honestly, the homefries and corned beef hash (which we'll talk about in a sec) were arguably among the best. Whereas that toast...*sigh*. Guys. Why are restaurants so petrified of copiously buttering toast? Shoot! I'll even settle for quasi-copiously buttering. Now, one reviewer claimed the corned beef hash (which is made fresh) suspiciously tasted of the canned variety. And honestly....I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. See, I have this thing with homemade hash. Most of the renditions I've tried consist more of a brisket type textured corned beef; which either tastes over seasoned (I can't even believe I'M saying that) or seasoned strangely. For instance, the homemade hash I tried up at the Market Place Diner in Hollis, NH tasted like ranch for some reason. But, I digress. This hash was more of a minced meat texture that had a bit of subtlety to its flavoring which I can appreciate. Unfortunately, the side (which is over 10 bucks, btw) is not meant for one person. This portion could easily serve 2...maybe 3 persons. Eh, far as homemade versions go, 9 out of 10. And of course, the Mimosa was heavenly. Wanna know what really surprised us though? The coffee. I honestly thought we were about to be presented yet another pathetically weak breakfast blend most diners serve. But no--this coffee was bold in a way that would make even the likes of the Starbucks CEO go, "Jolly good cup o' java, ol' chap!" Service was sublime. My only other minor complaint is...the pricing. But really, it's to be expected of a restaurant that operates in conjunction with a resort. I guess I expected like, a near fine dining level of breakfast food for such prices. On the plus side, those $16 Mimosas include the entire small bottle of champagne. You just gotta ask for a little more OJ after your first glass. Weird. It's an innocuous little joint I wouldn't mind dining at upon future stays. Albeit a little pretentiously priced, I'm giving Junior's Restaurant and Bakery at Foxwoods 4 of the hugest fluffy ham & cheese omelets out of 5.

The pastrami was so flavorful. The burger was seasoned and you can still taste the freshness from the beef. It was a good lunch and that made up for the rude attitude in the beginning with the hostess.

There's something about seeing the cooks working the line that adds another layer to the experience. It feels lively, energetic, and authentic. We started with a variety of appetizers because, honestly, everything on the menu sounded amazing. First came the bread service with two olive oils. The bread was light and airy, with just enough chew, and it soaked up the oil and sauce like it knew exactly what its job was. Next up were the meatballs, served in a rich tomato sauce with ricotta and shaved Parmigiano. The meatballs had a unique flavor thanks to the sausage mixed into the blend. They were tender, savory, and deeply satisfying. The sauce was chunky and well-balanced, just the right touch of sweetness without tipping into acidity. We also ordered the arancini, which came crisp on the outside and packed with umami flavor, helped along by the truffle sauce. One bite and you understand why these little rice bombs are such a classic. And then there was the cheese board, a nice variety that gave everyone something different to pick at between bites of everything else. For my main course, I went with the Pork Chop Giambotta. The pork chop was grilled beautifully, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was topped with a giambotta, a rustic Italian stew of vegetables that included fingerling potatoes, sausage, hot cherry peppers, vinegar, garlic, and onions. This dish hit every note on the palate, sweet, savory, tangy, and just enough heat to keep things interesting. One of those plates where every forkful gives you a slightly different combination of flavors. It was a great meal, made even better by sharing it with family. And the service deserves a mention as well. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accommodating, the kind of hospitality that makes the whole evening feel effortless. A great night all around.

Given the pricing I was expecting an experience closer to Angeline at Borgota and what I got was slightly better than a local pizzeria. We had a Margherita pizza which was decent, a pretty good chicken parmesan, a decent chicken Milanese, and what I would describe as a sad bolognese. At this price point I'd expect every meal to deliver and I'd expect a better ambiance. I agree with other reviewers that charging $8 for bread when selling entrees that are $35-70 seems stingy.

It was a wonderful day, after playing at the slot machines for hours, we decided to eat here. We were a group of 12 people. I loved the decor. Everything was painted in a dark forest green, with touches of gold accents everywhere. The chandeliers were beautiful. The food arrived piping hot and swiftly. I ordered a shrimp Singapore noodle stir fry. It was delicious and warm, with some curry and garlic notes. And of course, for me the start of the menu was...the delicious and garlicky bok choy! It's the best bok choy I've ever eaten so far. I just added a touch of soy sauce. My parents ordered a bowl of shrimp fried rice and pork fried rice. Everything was so tasty, that we ate in complete silence! The check was evenly processed...and I gotta say that for 12 people, is a good deal for $33 a person is a great, and a lot of great food that we ended up taking home!
