I picked up a 1/2 gallon of delicious apple cider last weekend and now I'll need to come back this weekend for more! I bought a 1/2 gallon for $6 and a gallon was only $8 but I didn't think I would finish all of it by myself. I was so wrong. I'm a sucker for fresh apple cider but this barn is so picturesque that I pulled in randomly after spotting it from the highway. You drive down a cute road along the highway through a long stretch of farmland. It's worth the detour. I came just for the apple cider but as soon as I heard apple cider donuts I needed some of those too! A bag of mini donuts was more than enough for one person, ideally I would share this but I was riding solo and ate every single one with no regrets. They were the perfect driving snack and I was tempted to chug the apple cider in the car as well but it was too risky to lose a drop so I enjoyed it at home over an ice cube and wow. More refreshing and satisfying than a beer or cider.

A gallon of cold apple cider for $8. It is a good price. Pay either by cash or Venmo. The cider tastes great. I have become a repeat customer. Self-serve, no attendance. Very efficient. ^_^

As I was returning home from a meeting in Bellingham, I stopped by Cedardale Orchards for some fresh cider. My husband and I love all things apples, and the state of WA has been a dream come true as we're surrounded by Apple orchards!! As the previous reviews stated there are no sales attendants; it's just a self serve store that's all about cider. I appreciate the convenience of being right off the interstate. No worries if you don't find yourself in the Mount Vernon area because I've seen Cedardale cider sold in several farmers markets, and Central market. I'm looking forward to enjoying our autumn weekend with delicious Cedardale cider; I highly recommend!!

You walk in and pay with VEMMO or place cash in a box (honor system). It's all self-serve and nobody is there to help. Pick out your juice and walk out. Enjoy. The cider is delicious!

My sister and I were bombing north to Mount Vernon so we visually marked this as the final place on our itinerary. It was to be our reward for a job well done. (fast forward several hours later) We rolled up on the unseasonably warm November day. Our previous visit was unmanned so you left the money on the honor system. This time during the COVID-19 global pandemic we armed ourselves with masks to enter. After we were granted our food reward, we zipped back to the Sapphire Sled. We happily smashed on the warm, heavenly delish apple cider mini donuts and washed it down with fresh apple cider. Do yourself a favor, stop by on the weekend.

We finally decided to check this place out after having driven past it many times on our way to Seattle from Bellingham. To get here, take Exit 224 from I-5. The place itself is unstaffed and works by the honor system. There are surveillance both inside and outside the property to make sure people are paying for items. They only sell apple cider here. I bought a small personal bottle for $2.50 and tried it out. It tastes great: very sweet and smooth.

Don't drive by the big red roof on I-5 without stopping in for some AMAZING cider! I stopped here on a whim when I saw the sign for the cider - if you miss the exit going SB, the U-ey is a long way around. I learned that the hard way. When I pulled up, there were zero cars in the parking lot and it looked like it was deserted. I didn't let that deter me though, I knew there had to be goodness inside! Sure enough, inside was a fridge fully stocked with delicious cider. You can get a gallon, 1/2 gallon, or individual serving. No one is there to man the store (is anyone ever there?!) so you just put your money into a dropbox and mosey on your way. The cider is more tart than sweet, which I love. No added sweeteners. Just good ol' pressed apple juice. You gotta love it! If I had this in TX, I would not hesitate to use this stuff to make hard cider.

People play Frisbee and cornhole, or just chill on the Adirondack chairs. On chillier days or if staying for the evening, bring a blanket, a poncho or a coat. There are multiple vendors that sell food (pizza, vegan ice cream and such), though they do not operate every week-day. There's a drinking room inside, which is also where people congregate in the winter. They've got a large variety of their ciders on tap accompanied by helpful descriptions. The bartenders are friendly and will steer you right if you need help making a selection. There's flights and glass pours. The flights are fun - I highly recommend doing it! My friends and I, we do a flight per two people, and then we each order a glass (or two) of our favorites. During cold winter, they also sell hot cider (not-alcoholic), which you can have spiked with apple spirit. On week-end nights, there's often live music playing in the early evening in the big tent / dining hall. It's open air, so bring a blanket or a coat

It is a stark contrast from the consumerist drudgery, hyper-stimulation, and quotidian violence of the modern U.S. market-scape which has metastasized like a bad rash over the land. An alternative way of relating to strangers and community members alike, around long wooden tables, listening to local folk performers stirs up a sense of communality from long-ago genetic and cultural memories. Eating good food, and drinking from a curated collection of ciders each infused and brewed slightly differently makes you feel "rich" in the true sense of humanity and wellbeing. I recommend this unusual vision of communal gathering -- where you can wander between wooden beam-constructed huts in which various food vendors are selling specialty items, then gather to sit down and eat in a large tent. Here you can also enjoy open farm vistas, and explore some planted rows. There is whimsical art festooned around the collection of low-slung huts. The ground is not paved so you can feel as if you are in touch with the earth. My food choice was a bahn mi sandwich which was excellently executed with toasted bread, both tasty and filling. It used a tempeh made with wheat grown in Chimacum itself. It had beautifully pickled daikon, carrots, and cilantro while the mayo was warming. Missing jalapenos were compensated for with chili sauces that you could custom add. I washed this down with a small six ounce glass of a mix of ciders because I couldn't decide my favorite flavors (strawberry infused cider was my jam that day). Be aware that food vendors will be different depending on the day of your visit. I feel that the care & finesse with which the bahn mi was executed is an indication of the high caliber of curated, prepared food available for purchase at this "farm" experience. Get back to the land and lower your blood pressure at Finn River Farm and Cidery!

Pro tip Stella Sopra, one of the best Italian food trucks or Italian food in general we've ever encountered is parked right on the property. Delicious handmade pasta plus good wine equals the kind of afternoon we all deserve. The staff here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They took their time walking us through all the wines and sharing the stories behind them. We ended up walking away with a bottle of rosé Tempranillo and a beautifully aged 2014 Tempranillo hands down one of the best reds I've had all year. We were honestly shocked in the best way that a flight of four wines plus a full glass for my husband came out to under $20 talk about incredible value for quality pours or maybe were so used to crazy Seattle pricing! There's indoor seating, but if the weather's nice, grab a spot on the patio or in the front area with your dogs and soak in the peaceful vineyard vibes. I could see the patio filling up fast during peak times, but we visited during a slower hour and loved that no one rushed us people were coming and going, and we were free to sip, snack, and stay awhile. I wasn't the biggest fan of the ciders, but their wines were definitely worth the visit. It's a smaller operation, but that's part of the charm. Local, family-run vibes with great energy, great service, and great pours. Support the little guys and bring your dogs!

The tasting room has a pleasant wooded and sleek look to it but the main draw are all the magnificent views you get here at the taproom. So definitely don't be in a rush when you come here and admire that view from the windows of the water! The cider is equally great! I had the Hi Boy Dry which was a dry cider... as the name implies and it was perfection! It had a great flavor of apple as it should but it wasn't too sweet or anything of the sort and was just sheer perfection. Such a great experience coming to Greenbank Cider and I will definitely pencil it in on a return visit to the island!
