Okay place...it was nicely decorated and designed with a good color palette (browns, and maroons/darker reds), and it has some nicer seating options like couches or soft chairs. This review is long overdue. Cedar Bean's has a special place in my heart because it was one of my COVID refuges that made me feel normal/human again for at least a small part of my day when everything was just utterly insane. Prior to March of 2020, I stopped here once or twice to sample their coffee (perfectly favorable impression - I think I bought a pound of the Pompton Peach blend, which was light, fruit-forward, just how I like it) but wasn't a regular customer. During COVID, I started using their app and ordering lavender lattes once or twice a week for an afternoon pick-me-up while I was working from home. Back then, they opened their giant windows at the front of the store so you could just grab your order from the sidewalk. The owner was and is super, super friendly and always up for a few minutes of chatting. I honestly wouldn't recommend using the app if you have the choice, just because it's a little more expensive and it really doesn't take too long to get your coffee when you order in the store. It's nice to have the option though if you need it. I'm a big fan of their aforementioned lavender lattes, which is my go-to espresso drink these days. I've never had an issue with my order or any type of service problems whatsoever - given the sheer volume of visits, that's pretty astounding in my opinion. The one piece of constructive feedback I initially had with this place is that their baked goods were pretty mediocre. They heavily relied on third party pre-made, pre-packaged pastries that just didn't taste that great. I thought if they figured out a way to consistently provide homemade, fresh food, that would make this place great instead of just above average. Lo and behold, they did exactly that. Their sea salt chocolate chip cookies are excellent, and for someone like me who has zero portion control, their two-a-pack product is perfect. I'm also a big fan of their banana bread, which is probably closer to the cake family than the bread family, but at least I'm sort of getting a fruit serving in there. Especially with a place like this that isn't exclusively a to-go establishment, the atmosphere is pretty important and another area where they've checked the boxes off. I'm not totally sure how the antler theme ties in with coffee, but a lot of attention has been made to constructing a cozy coffeehouse vibe. I'm not sure I've ever been in there when they didn't have at least a small handful of customers hanging out. I also admire their willingness to just go for it with respect to their tip jars (see attached). A day or two after Slapgate, there were the competing jars with pictures of Will Smith and Chris Rock. Why any money ended up in Will Smith's jar is beyond me, but that kind of customer engagement I'm sure is bringing them a few extra bucks. Smart marketing. There are a lot of coffeehouses in the area, and I'd argue it's the type of business that is prone to inflated reviews, just by virtue of the fact that they're peddling in liquid gold. Who doesn't love a place that sells coffee? But Cedar Bean's is a cut above the rest and wholly deserving of the accolades. read more

As a family with two toddlers we are always on the lookout for kid friendly options that are open nice and early without having to sacrifice ambience, quality or menu options. This hits all the right spots with thoughtful and fun decor, like a pac man game table, faux fireplace, a shared library to pick up or drop off a book, got some quarters? Snag a fun toy from the machine across the register. The menu offers plenty of great caffeinated/non caffeinated drink options with some twists along with an array of food and snacks. (Even a vegan option which is helpful for my allergy child) I got the homemade chai with an espresso shot and splash of honey, (smooth, delightful and not your typical overly herby chai, and just a sprinkle of sweet) My husband got your classic cappuccino (solid choice :) For food we ordered a few breakfast sandwiches which did the trick and didn't stretch the wallet. The owner Dave was a delight and absolutely made us so much more inclined to visit again and support this local small business. So if you're looking for a quick coffee, a bite or want to sit on the leather lounger "fireside" with a creative coffee or tea. STOP BY! They also host authors, artists and the like on occasion which adds another great element. I have been SO excited to visit here ever since I heard it opened. Growing up in CG I wished they had something like this but it never opened until many many years after I moved away. Now, living in Texas, I was finally able to stop in while visiting my parents. I chose to get just a pumpkin iced coffee, cream and sugar, and a cinnamon scone. I like the atmosphere a lot, however, sadly I still would rather get the mainstream DD coffee compared to what I received here. For the price, I thought the taste wasn't as good and a little expensive. But overall, it is a nice addition to have in town and I am glad they are around. Had a wholesome bite and drink at this cute Cafe. I like their cold brews more than their seasonal and mixed drinks. The breakfast sandwich we ordered tasted like a Jimmy dean's sandwich. Oh, and you can request ketchup and hot sauce (it's RedHot) on the side too. It's a cute cafe with ample seating and there's wifi here so you can work here for a bit while sipping on your drink(s). I am not aware of the parking situation in this area but I was lucky to park in front of the cafe the last two times I was here. I like to support local coffee shops so corporations like Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts don't put these small businesses out of business. With that said, I am really disappointed in cedar bean and how they charge for their goods because it's on the same level of nickel and dimeing that these giant corporations do. My large iced coffee with half and half was ~$5.75. I was charged $1.50 for the large cup of ice, 10 cents for half and half , and the rest for the coffee. Really gross to see a charge for the tablespoon of half and half even if it's only 10 cents. read more

My wife and I are so happy that this "joint" opened up in town. It is an attractive and inviting place. They offer all the drinks one would expect and much more with new and seasonal drinks seeming to always be introduced. The baristas are professional and super-friendly. There is outdoor seating in front with a view of the always exciting Rt. 23, comfy seating outside and a new quiet area opening in the back. Owner Dave is almost always there (and very social media savvy!) and is great about displaying artwork from local artists. He has also built a following for Thursday Caffeinated Open Mic nights and there is frequently music inside and outside in good weather. The music, drinks, and food are also kid-friendly with special items for them and folks that are not coffee or caffeine fans. They offer many alternatives including non-alcoholic beers and cocktails. The decor is super rustic fabulous with every inch of this place well thought-out and not one detail didn't go unnoticed.... the place has a very cozy mellow vibe. Stopped here because it was down the street from my doctors office! Great find, they do curb side pick up or you can order right at the window. I order coffee for my mom and I here on the weekends and we absolutely love it! Their signature flavors as well as seasonal are all lovely. Stopped in today on my Coffee Quest (trying out new coffee places once a week near me). I asked Dave (I think he's the owner) to pick something for me as they have a nice menu, I told him I was diabetic and he asked me a couple of questions and ended up making me a Sugar Free PSL. I loved it. The flavoring wasn't overpowering the taste of the excellent coffee. The atmosphere was relaxed even though nearly every table was taken. Great music, comfortable and not rushed.
