The best staff and coffee - I have been going here regularly for five years and they always start my day with a smile !!

On Bloomfield Ave there's a tiny coffee house in a small house. This little place takes coffee seriously. They have seasonal coffee offerings, pastries, soft drinks and a few small bistro tables inside and lots of dog parents sipping coffee outside with their pups. I was fortunate to grab a table inside. I got a cold brew and it was very good; grassy and bright tasting. Clearly the place values coffee. Be forewarned, Jola is pretty a pretty busy place. They have about 4 parking spots in the back (all taken) and there's a shopping complex next door. I parked in the shopping complex because there wasn't a sign warning coffee customers not to park there. If you're looking for a Starbucks alternative in Caldwell, this is the place. This is one of my absolute favorite coffee shops. They ALWAYS have super interesting and inventive drinks on the menu, it's hard to choose which to try! Plus, they use Counter Culture coffee, which I love. The staff and owner are super friendly, and I love their rewards program and their online order service that lets you choose the time you want to pick up -- so convenient. There are only three parking spots in the back (one is handicapped), so unfortunately, this isn't really the kind of place where you go and hang out for hours, but truly, their coffee and their staff are amazing and it's 100% worth multiple visits! read more

I was in the area and had been meaning to check this place out so I was glad I was close by! I ordered a flower iced coffee and it turns out it was restaurant week so I got a little discount. It was more floral than I'm used to, but it was too pretty to not drink. And I got kind of used to the rose flavor after awhile. Service was quick and friendly, I only wish the cafe had a little more ambiance, it didn't feel much like a cafe people sit in. And the outdoor area is right next to a busy street so a bit awkward. TLDR: quaint little coffee shop with a myriad of fun flavor combinations. Amazing service, too. Came in on a Saturday to do some work. Space was relatively quiet (except for when there was the occasional customer), there was free WiFi and all the tables were open. Ordered a cardamom and maple syrup oatmilk latte which was great and the baristas were kind, helpful, and humorous! I also got a raspberry bar which was sourced from a local, small bakery. Overall, great place to do work and I can't wait to try something new from here again. read more

It's always fun trying new coffee shops and Jola was not disappointing! Today was my first time here and I opted for a chai tea latte with a blueberry muffin. Both were delicious! I'm not sure if the woman who prepared my order was the owner, but she was very friendly and helpful. While prices seemed a bit high, they're probably average for a gourmet coffee shop. Located conveniently on the main drag, I was able to find parking in the rear. Upon entering I walked up to the counter, was quickly greeted and the young lady behind the counter explained the different types of coffees to me. I ordered a large mug and took a seat while chatting with a friend. The woman behind the counter was happy to make small talk and make me feel at home. Great spot for a coffee. There were muffins and different types of protein bars but I didn't try them. read more

Ok. It may seem odd to write such a stellar review for a coffee shop but here's the thing... I experienced amazing and personalized service. Not only was the staff super friendly, but also helpful. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but was meeting a friend here. The parking isn't awesome but there's a TON of parking right next door with easy in and out access to Bloomfield Ave. Jola is quaint, but not cloister phobic, and VERY clean. We sat for close to two hours and never once did I feel like we needed to wrap it up. In fact, the barista made a special chai for me to try. My friend ordered a spinach pastry with her coffee that looked and smelled amazing. They have so many yummy treats to try. Also like the fact they are open super early so I can swing by on my way to work. Awesome staff, great coffee, tea and treats. Will be returning. read more

OMG..... AMAZING!!! This place is a nice breath of fresh air to the Caldwell community. I am not a coffee drinker and this place has really sparked something in me that I didn't know was there. When you walk into this establishment you are greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff. More importantly, you feel very valued as a customer because they really take the time to explain what they have to offer. Today I had the ice coconut latte. It was amazing!!! I think what I was most impressed with was that each up of coffee is mad to order and fresh. You can tell that it is really quality coffee because it really fills the air as it is being brewed. And the icing on the coffee in their in-house syrups. I am excited to return and try different items from their menu. I almost forgot, there is a yogurt brand that they carry that I have never seen anywhere else. It's a little pricey, but so worth it. My favorite is the Greek coconut yogurt with mango. Came across Jola on one of my many coffee runs. It was really good. The staff was very friendly and willing to help you with your order in any way. It looks very cute inside, however, due to Covid they're only allowing orders from the door or curbside pick-up. My friend said the coffee was very very good, and I had an almond milk latte. It was really great, smooth yet packed the espresso punch I love. We also got a cinnamon muffin which was yummy and super fresh! I would definitely recommend stopping by and I look forward to going again, especially when we can sit and enjoy inside! read more

My husband I are new to the area and are self proclaimed coffee snobs, we're pretty picky. He's certified in some stuff. We tolerate a lot of places but actually enjoy a few. Jola was way up at the top of our list. They serve Counter Culture and serve it well. They really know what they're doing. We could talk with the baristas for hours and really geek out lol And it's incredibly clean and inviting too. We are so happy to have found a legit good coffee stop in the area. Adorable new coffee spot in town. It's cute, it's friendly, it's clean, it's easy to get to, easy to park and just a great addition to this area of New Jersey. I strongly urge you to stop in for coffee. They also have some other things for sale. I have been searching for the best iced coffee in the area and Jola's coffee is the clear winner. It is strong and creamy, which is so hard to find in an iced coffee. Additionally, the owner is incredibly nice and patient. I brought my mother in recently and the owner helped her decide on a coffee that suited her taste. This place is amazing and my favorite new spot to get coffee. read more

This is a fabulous little coffee shop with many cool drinks and treats. My favorite Matcha lattes are made unsweetened the way I like it. Other places say they don't add sugar but they use sweetened matcha. Some of the treats are from Balthazar bakery others are from local paces. They offer gluten free options as well. For someone who loves coffee the way I do, going to Jola and being able to not only have an amazing cup of coffee but experience the art of their hand brewed coffee which is not something you see often is amazing. They also have many many different mils options for those of different taste and they also have different types of sugar. May not seem important to others but when you are a coffee lover like I am, you pay attention to that detail. I highly recommend coming here for a cup of very smooth, rich and flavorful coffee. This place is literally a 30 second drive from my house and I've been meaning to try it since it opened, today I finally did. It's a cute, tiny little hut type shop that reminds me of a Seattle coffee shop, so of course I love it! The coffee is high quality and the employees are passionate and knowledgeable about the products. As a coffee fiend I appreciate those two things so much. For a large coffee it was just under $3, not bad at all for a high quality cup. You put the add ins like creamer and cinnamon in yourself, which I like. They have some food items as well that I didn't get to try, such as vegan chocolate chip cookies, but I'll be back for sure and most likely become a regular! read more

Very nice and friendly husband/wife duo run this quaint cafe. I almost missed it as it looked like a house, making this probably the most unintentionally hipster cafe ever. Met up with Ivan P. and Jabriel J. here, miles away from where we normally have coffee (our workplace). We're pretty knowledgeable on coffee, and through some casual conversation, I discovered the owners are as well. They select a specific roaster from down south, which tells me they really care about the quality of their beans. What stands out here for me is the price. I don't know if it's changed since I've last been here, but they prepare pour overs with premium gourmet coffee for less than $4. That is incredible and definitely makes it worth coming out of my way to return. read more

Discovered Jola during COVID and now I am hooked. Their coffee is fresh, strong and delicious. Service (curbside) is quick and friendly. Plus you get perks on their app! Verona has been yearning for a coffee shop for years and Jola delivers. I stopped in here today for a quick small iced coffee and it was delicious. I had the opportunity to meet the owners who were welcoming and warm. It's a perfect coffee shop with lots of options and even simple syrup at the coffee station - a true win. Nice little parking lot behind the shop. I will be coming back and telling all of my co-workers down the street about this new Verona jewel. read more

Comfortable spot miles from other coffee options (except the gas station). I'm settling each time I visit. But I'm okay. Small iced coffee is $2.75; large $3.25. Crisp and a little harsh. But really, it's just fine. Fair price and flavor. Small and chewable ice cubes are a nice plus. Chili cheese braid - a one-time impulse for $3.00 - was flaky and buttery, with no hint of chili, and a bit too chewy. Satisfying if you're hungry, but not if you're just curious. There are a variety of other healthy snacks at the counter. E.g. trail mixes, granola bars, Paleo stuffs. Over $4.00 per, though! Except the only sugar-free sweetener is Stevia, which tastes like poison on my palate. I can't enjoy anything without bringing my own Splenda/Equal to the place with me. Lovely standalone coffee house. Coffee beans are great - they have chosen a great bean from Counter Coffee. Atmosphere is great and really friendly owners - everyone is welcomed, and they are passionate about their independent coffee house.
