I really wish I lived closer!!! But I frequently go to west orange and you bet the staff is going to see me as a frequent flyer! This store, even from the outside, is just so welcoming and so inviting. The color scheme is an eye pleaser. Upon entering, the staff welcomed me and they were very friendly throughout the whole visit. Not too busy at this time. I did see some tables outside to sit and a couple inside. There's a bar on the side with some stools as well. I got the mocha latte with non dairy cold foam and wow, I don't know how they got the cold foam to literally taste the same as one with dairy. Strong coffee and very flavorful. They also have free stickers! Definitely will be back to try other flavors!

Whenever my husband drives me to work, I treat him to an americano or matcha latte from a local cafe. A few weeks ago, we checked out Orange Sky Coffee Roasters on Main Street in West Orange. Cute spot! That morning, I ordered two americanos. In addition, I bought a corn muffin and a chocolate pastry to sample/share. While waiting for my order, I had a few minutes to peep out the interior. They have a few tall stools where you can sit and look out through their storefront window. There are gorgeous monstera plants. With the natural lighting, high ceiling, and plants, it feels very airy in there. The barista there that morning was friendly, and even offered me a drink or something while I was waiting (not a fault of theirs, but there was a tech glitch with my app order and I waited for a little bit). Once I had my stuff, I headed to the car which was parked in the lot behind Benji's. It's nice to see local businesses in this part of town thriving. The drinks got us energized and the pastries hit the spot that morning. I would recommend Orange Sky if you are in the area. Support local businesses!

Great coffee shop. The owner and team are super friendly. As soon as you walk in, that good coffee smell in the air, just amazing. The coffee I got was so so good! Caramel iced latte. Just flavorful and hit the spot perfectly. They have some pastries, and sandwiches too! Just happy that I have a local coffee shop walking distance from home to get a great cup of coffee!!!!

Picked up an iced coffee flash cold brew on a Thursday morning. It's a small coffee shop with a few seats. It looks new and it's clean. I asked the guy what flash cold brew meant, and he explained that he brews the coffee hot and strong to imitate cold brew. It was OK, but it wasn't cold brew.

Just stopped here for a quick coffee. Nice, bright, clean establishment. Even had a couple of puzzles attached to wall for small kids. The employee was friendly & kind. I also got a free chocolate chip cookie. Apparently it's free cookie day on Tuesdays. Glad it was my fave kind of cookie. I would go back again. I like supporting local businesses.

Orange Sky is now five months old and run by Ray, who roasts the beans he uses in-store, ensuring they're at optimal freshness when they're served. He definitely knows his stuff - when I outed myself as a home barista, he asked me what grinder I have (the grinder is more important than the machine). As he handed my drink over, he asked me to confirm the ratios of milk, espresso, and hazelnut syrup were to my liking. In my opinion, my iced hazelnut oatmilk latte could have been stronger with a finer grind. That said, it also wasn't dry or bitter, which can happen at less technical establishments. As another poster noted, there's nowhere to sit inside, which is a letdown. I sat outside with my laptop and Ray very observantly popped outside to offer me the WiFi password. While outside, I got approached by someone who swore he wasn't asking for money, which was offputting. I stayed outside for half an hour on a Saturday morning. There were customers every few minutes, all of whom took their drinks to go.

We loved our experience at Orange Sky Coffee Roasters! Great vibes, delicious coffee, kid friendly and accommodating staff. Try the variety of seasonal drinks; the caramel apple butter latte was spot on! The kids enjoyed yummy hot chocolates and handmade cookies. The kid corner with coloring and activities was an added bonus :) Also be sure to check out the amazing mural around the corner!

Friendly service, and clean neat space. Speaking to the owner, their lack of indoor seating was due to approval issues, which was disappointing, but understandable. We bought a bag of beans and two coffees. The beans are roasted on site but not every bean out for sale was newly roasted, so we picked the Kenya. The oat milk latte we ordered was a bit foamy for a latte and my americano was overly hot. I love that the packaging they use for their beans is recyclable but their cup lids need a bit of work. Mine kept leaking. All in all, good, but maybe a few quality control details to take care of.

not only is the coffee and vibe amazing, service great and convenient location with easy parking, but my favorite part is that they carry Ube flavor!! I tried the caramel flavored waffle croissant and it was delicious!!

Since my…read moreoriginal review five years ago, I have gone back to Walia repeatedly and over the years it has become my absolute favorite Ethiopian restaurant within a respectable driving distance of where I live (which I define as about 30 minutes). I am happy to say that almost everything I said in my last review still rings true. The decor has changed a bit, with new paintings hanging and the seats getting rearranged now and then as reservations demand, but for the most part the restaurant still looks and feels the same as before. It is a comforting, welcoming yet elegant restaurant in its own way. It isn't super fancy, which is great because it makes it appropriate for everything from a casual date night to a birthday party. The service at Walia continues to be fantastic. Their staff is always friendly, accommodating and willing to answer questions. They are also very nice about getting you extra Injira bread (as I do every time I'm there). The food at Walia is amazing. Everything is flavorful and the spices are wonderful (I generally keep the heat at medium level). The Alicha Watt (pumpkin) remains one of my favorite dishes and I often take an order of it to go whenever I eat here. Walia is a wonderful business and I highly encourage everyone to support it!

Dang. If you have to…read morebe trapped in suburban NJ, you could do a lot, LOT worse than Walia. I'm still a little floored at how NOT compromised the flavors here were--how I ate some of the most complex, deeply seasoned Ethiopian dishes I've ever had here. But you know what IS just like NYC able Walia? The prices. I nearly had sticker shock from the $33+/entree pricing that dominated the menu. Ahhhh, the pain in my wallet felt just like home. Anywho, at least the food was delicious and plentiful. The standout for me was Kitfo--always my favorite Ethiopian dish--which was beautifully seasoned, incredibly tasty and blissfully abundant. We also ordered the Lega Tibs, which was nicely tender and completely devoid of gamey lamb flavor. To balance out the all the carne, we practically ordered a garden of fiber. All our vegetarian dishes were well cooked, especially the Fasolia (mildly simmered string beans and carrots), Tkile Gomen (the classic mix of cabbage, carrots and potatoes), and both Watts (lentil stews, baby!). We also splurged on the Kayser Watt, a unique combination of beets and potatoes that I don't see often at Ethiopian joints--however, while it was expertly made, I didn't think it was worth the extra spend. The same goes for the Ethiopian Chai; not particularly interesting or complex, and I certainly wouldn't pay extra to order it a second time unless I just really needed a warm mug to hold. Service was warm and friendly, and the decor is cute without being kitschy. Bottom line: Enjoy a more unique cuisine in a rather mundane part of the state, but don't be surprised if you stretch your credit card limit just as badly as you would in the Big Apple.

I came here at 8:30am on a Friday morning to get some desserts. Got some at 9am and told myself I'll at least wait until lunch to break into it. I lasted all of 10 minutes before the chocolate cake started taunting me. So naturally I took a taste of the cake and the snicker doodle cookie, because being an adult means I can have sweets for breakfast. Both works of art! The chocolate cake is rich and moist and just melts in your mouth. There is vanilla icing and caramel sauce which really adds to the experience. I don't like caramel and even I was kicking my fingers. The snicker doodle cookie was also delicious and would purchase again because it was so cinnamony and perfect, but I'm a chocolate gal through and through. I'm taking on the challenge to not eat all of this before my guests arrive this evening - but I may fail and that's ok. Izzy is the only one working there and she is so lovely! She opened this space because she outgrew her home kitchen. Excited to keep trying the new flavors!
