Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. My friend and her wife wanted to meetup here to catch up and chit chat. They had some Jazz performances going on that Sunday which we weren't aware of which was cool because the jazz performances were good but during the intermission or when the next group was setting up. My friends and I stopped in here randomly for some drinks and we weren't disappointed. We ordered a passionfruit ivy tea, a hot and iced lavender matcha. The drinks were very good! I ordered the Rose Latte and I've never tasted anything like it. You could literally taste the smoothness of the rose and it was served at the perfect temperature. Incredible...ORDER IT! The other drink was the Mocha Latte and it was just as good as the Rose Latte. My entree was the Sweet Bee Crepe (Bananas, walnuts, and honey). Oh, boy...what a delightful choice. Every forkful was an adventure with different textures, sweetness, and overall, DELICIOUS. I really enjoyed the relaxing ambiance of this cafe. If you're not fortunate enough to sit at the front of the cafe, which faces the street, you could sit at the rear, which is quiet and you're able to enjoy the beautiful wall art. I also noticed, that there is an area where musicians play during week. I'm certain, that this adds another layer to the enjoyment of this cafe. There were only two staff members taking care of many customers and my crepe took about 30 minutes to be served, but it was worth the wait. Whenever I return to Montclair, Trend Coffee & Tea House will be my go-to, for coffee and/or sweet food. I highly recommend it and enjoy every second spent in this splendid eatery. read more

They also had the most amazing coffee and tea offerings, but again, I was here for "just" a cup of coffee. I ordered a large dark roast with half and half to go and heck if I tell you a cup of plain coffee was such a delight! The coffee was smooth and deep flavored and clearly fresh brewed with no burnt taste all too familiar with dark roast. The woman taking orders and preparing beverages was busy chatting on the phone while she was working and barely made eye contact with me or anyone else. Another lady ended up taking my order and brought my crepe to my table. It was mid-afternoon and wasn't very crowded when I was there (although it was more crowded by the time I left). I found this place on IG and the pics looked amazing! The Oreo Dream with crushed Oreos and chocolate inside looked to die for! Well, it was the most disappointing experience ever!! Talk about a bait and switch! Awful food! First off the place is rundown and looks a bit unkempt. I thought maybe it was going for funky coffee house vibe. I ordered a large coffee with milk, a bottled water and two crepes. The bill was over $36. The coffee came out within a few minutes but was cold so I asked the girl to dump some out and just put in more coffee. She did and it still tasted lukewarm but I didn't say anything else. Next my daughter's chipotle chicken crepe came out within about 15 minutes. Mine was nowhere in sight, so I told her to eat so it wouldn't get cold. It was overcooked but not bad. When I finally got my crepe over 15 minutes later it was awful! It was way overcooked to the point it was a crispy mess and the filling was literally a few chocolate chips, instead of actual chocolate, and a few of the oldest stalest Oreo pieces you can imagine! The filling, if you could call it that, was dry and skimpy! Totally inedible but we had been there so long I just wanted to leave. Save yourself the hassle and find a better place that won't rip you off and provide terrible food! read more

I'm in the area for work every now and again, so sometimes I'll stop into Trend if I have a bit of time to kill. The cafe is cute and cozy. It sort of feels like you are hanging out in someone's living room. There is ample seating, and although the space is narrow it extends far back. There is even a back room that is set up as a performance space! The wifi is strong, so this is a great option if I need to get some work done. Unfortunately my rating falls a little short because the coffee is not strong. Both times I've ordered coffee it's tasted extremely weak and watery. It's also a mistake to order the coffee with milk because they dumped in SO much milk. Next time I'd ask for this on the side. Next time I'll have to try tea or something else. They also have a new line of CBD infused coffees and teas which sounded interesting! read more

Cute little coffee/tea house right in the heart of Montclair. We were waiting for our table to open at a nearby restaurant and decided to come in here to kill the time. The place has a chill vibe with plenty of comfortable seating. They have live entertainment in weekends, which is pretty cool. You just have to spend a $7 minimum, which is extremely cheap. I was surprised how reasonably priced all their items were... you can get a fresh tea for $2.35. I went with the pumpkin chai and it was delicious! They're very generous with the sizes here, too. They had a ton of sweets, but some of the stuff displayed looked like it had been out a while (could have been because it was pretty late in the day). They offer free WiFi, making this an awesome place to plug your lap top in, have some tea or coffee, or even just relax. My only complaint is that I didn't like the fact that the waitress came up to our table to tell us they're closing in a half hour, while it was only 7:15 and they advertise closing at 8. I get it, they want to get out on time, but I've never been a fan of rushing customers out, especially that far from closing time. read more
