If you'd like to sit to stay and eat, you put your name down, but you still have to go up to the counter to place your order. We ordered a falafel bowl and a shashuka. No complaints on either, the bowl is very filling!

First time visiting, I definitely recommend this place.. the food was so fresh and delicious.. The service was good and my waitress was so nice.. The atmosphere was chill and relaxing.. It's a cute small spot to get some good freshly cooked food.. I will definitely be back!!!

5 star all day everyday. Our fav pot by far. Food is clean, fresh and soulful. You can't go wrong here. Location is convenient and even better if you live close by. Been cooking for a while and are always impressed with the quality and consistency. Our third time this week.

I've been there several times over the past few years and it's always a delight! The food is unique and tasty, the ambiance is a little small for my taste so I usually opt for take out, and the service is always 10/10! It's a family-owned and ran business and they take pride in being efficient. They will always be my go-to when I'm in the area.

Fantastic and innovative. The Mediterranean inspired breakfast dishes are special and the standard fair is done with great care... hey... that rhymes! Seriously the people are as nice as the food is great!!

Popped in here for lunch. Parking not ideal. Tables are first come first serve. Order and pay and then grab your number and find your table/seat. Staff is super friendly. A bright airy modern flare inside. So many dishes... a variety of breakfast and lunch options with Mediterranean flair. French toast with the whipped cream phenomenal. Lamb gyro amazing and the Greek salad is HUGE. Had two of their wraps the club was pretty good but the other lacked flavor. Would definitely check it out again if in the area.

I visited Jackie and Sons twice in one week, and each visit was a treat! For breakfast, I tried the beef scramble--the pine nuts added such a fantastic flavor twist. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I also couldn't resist their pastries; the lemon blueberry and carrot cake were absolutely divine. A few days later, I returned for lunch and had the kebab combo. Another winner! The flavors were robust, and the portion was just right. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a smooth cortado and a cappuccino that truly hit the spot. The atmosphere feels modern and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax. The staff is so friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Parking was easy to find--there's paid street parking, or you can park in the area right behind the store off Route 510. Jackie and Sons is a gem in South Orange, NJ. Highly recommend for anyone seeking delicious food, great service, and a cozy yet modern vibe!

The cool spot is located within minutes of Seton Hall University (South Orange, New Jersey). The service is great. Everyone is very friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered French Toast, a side of bacon, two eggs, and a raspberry lemon scone. The portions are plentiful. I wasn't expecting a side of bacon to be a bowl full of bacon (yes!!!). And the amount of whipped cream, wow!!! Everything was delicious. We also ordered the Very Berry smoothie. It wasn't our favorite, but it did not ruin what was an excellent meal. I highly recommend this cozy spot for a awesome breakfast and/or an excellent treat.

Food is good but one time I had a green strand of hair in my Muesli Bowl, which I had to throw the bowl away.

I tasted piece of the chicken in the chicken salad & it was really good & well flavored so it was kind of puzzling to me that The chicken thigh lacked flavor even though the chicken itself was fresh & delicately grilled, vegetables was great especially the baby potatoes, rice was meh! But it came with no kind of sauce. There were at least 3 tables celebrating their birthday which I took for a good sign & place appears child friendly without being annoying so it seems like a great neighborhood spot. With good atmosphere & great service, & fresh ingredients, I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of flavors in several dishes but I would still cautiously recommend this place if you live in the neighborhood but I would not go out of my way to get to this restaurant.

I don't know why we haven't frequented this spot sooner (at least during trips back home), but EVOO is legit. Also NOTE - its BYOB (but there are even some places nearish by you can grab a bottle or 3 if needed). Our server was very attentive, despite the restaurant being fairly busy. For apps, we decided on the: Hummus - how do you properly judge a Mediterranean restaurant without trying their hummus, and this was creamy, decadent and served with some fresh pita. Grilled Calamari (with roasted red pepper, lemon, evoo, capers, red onions) - very nicely cooked, not rubbery at all Grilled Octopus (with roasted red peppers, fava puree, capers, onions, red wine vinegar, arugula, evoo) - if octopus is on the menu, I'm gonna have it. For my entree, I got the pan-seared scallops with cauliflower puree, quinoa, spinach, heirloom tomato. Loved it. Cooked perfectly, loooved the silky puree...just a solid solid dish. All in all, EVOO definitely deserves to be on the Millburn/Essex shortlist when looking for nicer places to dine out. Can't wait to get back and try some more of their menu!

The new owners have completely reimagined the space into a moderately upscale, but still family-friendly, Mediterranean oasis with a contemporary aesthetic that's also a huge culinary step up from its predecessor. The staff was friendly and super attentive without ever being overbearing and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great meal and a great experience. My dining companion and I started with the special Trio Dip ($20), a fantastic, delicious starter with shareable portions of traditional hummus, a unique avocado hummus, and perfectly smoky baba ghanoush with crunchy walnuts alongside with a basket of warmly toasted pita bread. For our entree, we decided to share the Mandaloun Mix Grill ($40) and split the three kebabs -- filet mignon shish, ground beef kofta, and grilled chicken. This platter is a masterclass in grilling with three juicy and flavorful kebabs. Mandaloun also pays attention to small details that make the dining experience so memorable. We were both huge fans of the dipping dish with a concoction of olive oil, za'atar seasoning, and sesame seeds served with the pita and the toum -- an emulsion of garlic, oil, lemon juice, and salt which creates a thick, mayonnaise-like condiment that is 100% vegan and dairy-free -- served alongside our entree that's a perfect zesty pairing for the grilled chicken. One of the staff noticed how much I enjoyed both and brought over a small 'to go' container of each for us to take home. There was also a brief "if you know, you know" moment during dinner that I am sure was entirely unintentional. Our Mandaloun Mix Grill entree came with a tasty green salad topped with crispy pita strips, which felt like a very sophisticated homage to the Friendly's Crispy Chicken Salad entree that was topped with tortilla strips. PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Mandaloun is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Bring cash. Mandaloun has added a small surcharge for using credit cards to pay for your meal.

COME HUNGRY! I came here to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday with my husband's family…read morerecently. There were 6 of us and we split the Efsane Family Special for 4 people and added lamb chops thinking we wouldn't have enough food lol the special also came with dessert but my sister-in-law also ordered a rice pudding. The 6 of us could've easily had the family special for 4 without ordering anything else - there was so much food and we had leftovers to take home!! For context, we all eat a LOT so to say we had leftovers is saying a lot! Quantity aside, the food itself was delicious. The bread is served fresh and steaming hot, the dips are delicious and flavorful, meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly (the chicken shish and lamb adana are my favorites), and the bitter black tea and sweet baklava are a perfect way to end the meal. I left there stuffed and so happy! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

I was very worried that, after the move, I would not be able to find middle eastern food that would compare. However, I was wrong, and Esfane definitely satisfied my craving! I was in the mood for a light lunch, so I ordered the Shepard's Salad, the Baba Ghannouj, and the Lentil Soup. The Baba Ghannouj was excellent and came with lots of pita bread. It could've been a little smokier for my taste, but overall I got a huge serving and it was very creamy and flavorful. The Sheppard's salad was similarly huge and delicious. The lentil soup tasted home-made and was so comforting to dip all of my extra bread in. At the end of lunch, I was also served some complimentary tea, which definiitely was the icing on the cake to this exceptional experience. Overall, I was extremely satisfied by the quality of the food, but also by the amount. The service was similarly excellent. My water was constantly filled and the waiters checked on me numerous times to ensure everything was going well. The decorations inside were also exceptional, and the restaurant definitely gives high-class date night vibes. I could totally see coming back for a date night with my husband. I think the only downside is that I didn't find the food to be QUITE as good as some Paterson joints like Al Basha, and the price felt like it was 1.5x-2x as much. Probably worth it though, because this has got to be one of the better restaurants around in Flanders.

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to return yesterday. This time, I went alone. I was excited to go back, until the moment I walked in and was immediately asked whether I had a reservation. I said no. I was one person, and there were plenty of empty tables. Despite that, I was placed in a freezing corner by the door. It was uncomfortable and honestly unwelcoming. Nowhere on your website does it say "reservations only," yet that's exactly how I was treated. I felt so uncomfortable that I chose to leave without even placing an order. I walked in ready to spend money and enjoy a meal, and instead I walked out feeling dismissed. You lost a paying customer. What makes this worse is that I later told the same friend I originally went with, and she shared that when she calls ahead for a party of two, they simply tell her to come in because there are plenty of seats and that reservations aren't even required. So clearly, reservations are not the issue. That makes the way I was treated feel intentional and different. As a Palestinian who spends a lot of time in Paterson, I'm very familiar with Middle Eastern restaurants and pricing. Lentil soup is a staple on our menus. I know what a reasonable price looks like. For example, Kral Pide in Paterson charges $7. Charging $15 for lentil soup is excessive. It's not just high, it's outrageous. I'm extremely disappointed. I came back because I genuinely liked this place. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone, nor will I be bringing friends or family to this establishment again.
