Oh, my goodness. First of all, the owner Francesco is eye candy with a vibrant and sultry Italian accent. He literally had me at hello. He handicrafts his beloved Grandmother's recipes into divine eats and i couldnt be happier. From hoise made vanilla syrup to savory sauces that simmer for SEVERAL hours, he is an artist and pays homage to his origins which I respect. They have everything from Imported juices and water to soups and salads and decadent desserts. I will be back to try more! Outside seating is minimum and you can people watch but the real winner here is the expertly presented food and coffee. Francesco is very handsome as well so pop in and get to know him. You can thank me later.

They serve bread and coffee and bottled refreshments. Main item: Focaccia bread with different ingredients on top. They also sell other sweets: brioche, pie, Frittatas and pasta as well as merch. I I tried the Focaccia with no toppings and the pomodori that had cherry tomato and oregano. I must go back and try their pasta. Still good after a day. I even put cheese on top of the plain Focaccia i had left over and it was delish. Not busy in the morning on a weekday. Good for pick up and to go orders. Friendly and quick staff. Metered parking. Outdoor seating only on the side walk under the umbrellas for shade next to the busy main road. You can watch the cars drive by as you enjoy ur Focaccia and latte.

I'm always on the search for great focaccia and Ceci's has that. I ordered the meatball sandwich with added buratta. It was good. It could have had more salt and the bottom was soggy even though I ate it as soon as it arrived. Mom ordered a veggie sandwich, which I enjoyed more. You can really taste the fresh arugula. My neighbor ordered the pesto bean salad and another salad. I really enjoyed the pesto. We also shared the onion focaccia. That was fantastic. We should have ordered more. Parking can be limited depending on the time of day. The young man at the counter was wonderful.

We stopped into Ceci's Gastronomia and tried the Polpette Al Sugo and the Crudo & Ricotta sandwiches; both were delicious, with really good focaccia and fillings that felt balanced rather than heavy. On my list for next time are the Il Mortazza or the Caponata, and I would also love to come back to try their pastas. If parking in the area were easier and it didn't feel like such a production to get here, I could see myself stopping by a lot more often.

Ordered a couple of things like the frittata, pesto lasagna, and focaccia sandwich. The focaccia sandwich is where it's at - it's filling, fresh and very balanced.

Wanted to find a quick place to stop for lunch while in LA, we heard this spot had an amazing meatball sandwich and opted to try this place given its authentic vibes. Parking is a little difficult, but just going down one of the sides streets is plenty to find some easy spaces. We purchased the sandwich along with their lasagna al ragu as well as their tiramisu for dessert. Both dishes were very fresh and delicious. I particularly liked the lasagna! Our only gripe was the size of the dishes as we were both left pretty hungry afterwards, with both of our entrees totaling around 35$ for the two. Overall, a nice decent place to check out authentic italian cuisine!

I had no idea how important bread is to a sandwich until I came here. I am not sure what kind of crack they put into this bread, but Ceci's is the real deal. We tried the meatball and the mostaza sandwich and both were amazing. Would love to try their pasta dishes, but it would be so tough to stray from their pristine sandwiches

Polpette al Sugo Bomboloni Cortado

Authentic Italian!! This place is the real deal. The polpette al sugo (meatball focaccia) is my favorite sandwich and they make tasty sweets like bomboloni and sbrisolona, both of which I HIGHLY recommend! The people are friendly, service is great, and street-side ambiance is fun! LA people are sleeping on Ceci's!!!

Zucchini alla Parmigiana after we baked it

Heard about this place having the best meatball sandwich (on focaccia) in LA. But we opted for a couple to go dishes since we were in the neighborhood. We purchased the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach entree and the zucchini alla parmigiana. Easy to make hot at home and very delicious. The only disappointment we had was we thought the dishes were a bit on the small side. But I guess that's the price you pay for high quality food. Two entrees cost about $35. It might be nice if a bit of bread was thrown into the take out bag as a surprise. Parking is kind of sparse and the store has a few spaces for seating outside.

Meatball and other random sandwich. Fresh and tasty but small portions in my opinion.
Bruce F.

Small restaurant & cafe off a busy street with limited seating on the sidewalk. We ordered two focaccia sandwiches one with meatball and the other I can't remember. Both tasted pretty good and the bread seemed very fresh. The only downside for me was, I thought the portions were too small and pricing was too high. Overall decent experience.

This is such a great little café! I absolutely love their focaccia, in a variety of flavors. They have great desserts, such as Italian donuts, and sandwiches as well. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, everything is made by hand fresh with high-quality ingredients. Prices are fair considering how much effort is put into their products and presented beautifully. They have a bit of outdoor seating and easy street parking. Wonderful local business supporting!

Focaccia Toast with Spicy Marinara - so good!
Charles M.

Wow wow wow, very glad I decided to be hungry while visiting this part of town I don't normally always get to. Italian lunch made by a real Italian?? The owner was incredibly nice and gave me the tour of the whole menu. The homemade focaccia looked so good and I'm such a sucker for it that I ordered a sandwich that was too good. I got the Focaccia Toast accompanied by the spicy marinara - chef's kiss. Enjoyed it out on the sidewalk on some tables surrounded by others - felt like a visit to Europe.

Cannelloni ., amazing honestly

I had to order the oxtail because I saw good meaty (thick) they were compared to a lot of places I've had oxtail from. The sides I chose were corn and Greenpeace. They were generous with the portions and I was grinning from ear to ear. I had to tell the gentleman behind the counter how I appreciate that his oxtail axial had a nice amount of meat and not mostly bone. He told me he butchers it himself and makes sure his customers are treated right. Just writing this made my mouth water and I really should make another trip back.

At 1:30pm I was still waiting and I complained that I ordered and paid days ago, and that this was making me late for my get together. They told me that it was coming out and preceded to hand me a tray to take back to my car one by one. I was in a rush and only verified that all food was accounted for. I should have verified the food was actually cooked! Both the mac n cheese and yams trays were horrible! The mac n cheese was just cheese sauce on macaroni and not baked. The yams were dry and tough as they were not candied at all! My guests barely touched it. Maybe the dinners are still okay but I definitely don't recommend their catering trays. I'll go support another soul food place.

They do have a parking lot, but it is small and can get full so when we arrived it was full. We did find street parking though. They have one side where you can order to go and pick it up, and then the right side will be where you enter and get the seating. There are two seating rooms and a good amount of seats. Not a ton, but still pretty good. They have one restroom that is pretty big and also clean. The menu is pretty straightforward. There's only two pages. They look the same but one side is gonna have a lunch and dinner special. The other side is gonna have a Sunday special. You can only pick from the plates, and you can add additional sides à la carte, but for the main entrées, you cannot add them additionally. So for instance, my man got the oxtail dinner plate. Which comes with three sides, which are actually very generous. Honestly, I figured that would've fed us both which it could have. But I wanted the fried fish, but there is no option to add that separately. You would have to just get another plate of it. So for the first plate, we got the oxtail. That came over a bed of white rice, which we didn't know. It was very good very filling. We also got a side of mashed potatoes with gravy, which was so good nice and creamy. Then we also got the sweet potatoes and that was delicious. Reminded me exactly of Thanksgiving. And we also got the mac & cheese, which I don't normally like mac & cheese but there's looked good. I wanted to give it a try and it was good. Very cheesy. Then for mine I got the fried catfish plate. You have the option of getting fried or steamed I think. And you have the option of catfish or swai fish. For my sides, I got the corn, okra, tomato. That was very good. Then I also got the red beans over rice. Which was so good. I've never had red beans over rice except for at Popeyes and this was like a 10 out of 10. Then we also got the collard greens which that's the only item I was not a fan of. I probably give that one a one or two out of 10. It was just very bitter for me. Our friends also got their own plate, my friend he got the steamed fish and he said it was really good. They also got a side of cabbage which I also wanted to get. They said that was really good so I should've gotten that. The sweet tea was good. It did have a hint of lemon on it if you did like lemon sweet tea. Overall, for the price point, this was really good and big. I can't believe you get three sides. I definitely feel like one box can feed about two people. Wait time wasn't too long and the servers were really nice. I do like that. The food comes in to go containers already because we had leftovers and that way we did not have to ask for to go box. I would definitely come back whenever I'm in the area again.

To eat, I had the following: -Sweet Tea: Growing-up, I wasn't the biggest fan of lemon sweet tea and this was that. I prefer sweet tea without lemon, but this one was solid. However, it was very sugary. -Cornbread: Not the freshest, but it was a good appetizer and it wasn't gritty. -Fried Chicken: A bit disappointed with this. The fried chicken wasn't crispy and tasted like it was sitting out for a while. It wasn't too greasy though and the meat wasn't dry. -Mac N Cheese: The best thing I had here and it was solid. Not the best I've had but, it was a good side. -Collard Greens: Solid vegetable and the seasoning/vegetable flavor wasn't too strong. -Candied Yams: These were good, but also a bit too sugary. -Peach Cobbler: Super sweet and not the best I've had. Very syrupy and I would've liked more dough. The portion sizes were very generous though. Good for the price. We also came close to closing, so they gave us a lot of free food they were trying to get rid of for the night. Service was okay. I think the servers were just a bit stressed since it was close to closing time. They have interior seating and tables as well as a takeout window. For my group of 5, we were charged an automatic 20% large party fee. Overall, this experience was mid for me, but it is one of the only decent soul food spots in LA. I wish LA had a better soul food scene.
