I had such a great experience working with Cecile to choose bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. She has been in the business for many years and knows her stuff! The thought of selecting bridesmaid dresses was a bit daunting for me, but Cecile made it easy peasy! I described what I was looking for and she showed me all the options in different fabrics and styles. She also knew which styles look best on which body types, and was able to provide sound advice on achieving the look I was going for. Two of my bridesmaids were taller than average and she recommended they order a longer dress, which was an extra $10 charge. Ultimately they didn't end up needing this extra length because the dress arrived super long to begin with in its regular length. That's perhaps the only critique I would have, but otherwise, it was such a pleasant shopping experience, and one of the less stressful tasks I had to complete for my wedding. She is situated in the heart of Glendale and even though her shop is small, she has every kind of dress you can think of. She gives not only the bride a royal treatment, she does for the bridesmaids as well. She is easy to work with, communicate with (email, phone, text, etc) and she LISTENS to you AND your bridesmaids! She tells you the truth in terms of how dresses fit someone's body and whether or not it is appropriate for the type of wedding you have in mind! My girls tried on several dresses and she patiently helped all 3 of them in and out of numerous dresses until we found the perfect one! She informed us of the turn around time and arranged for their fittings to be done with her own recommended seamstress. She also arranged for another seamstress to alter my wedding dress to be perfect! Even though I didn't get my bridal gown through her, I was able to do my final fittings at her shop. If you are looking for a pretty woman experience of service, you have come to the right place. Cecile was so beautiful and accommodating. My brother recently got married in a last minute full-blown wedding. He was getting married to a friend of mine that I met in the cast of 'Tony-N-Tina's Wedding' ironically. Due to the 7 week notice on this full blown out of town wedding that I was to stand up in and M.C. for (no pressure), I needed a bridesmaid dress fast! I am very curvy and needed something flattering in coral and with next to no notice. Cecile had me try on all of the floor samples. I fell in love with one that was slightly too small, and had a snag in it. It was the perfect color and style though. Cecile said not to worry. She said her seamstress was a miracle worker. Indeed she was! Because I wanted the dress shortened, they took off the snagged layer and the bottom, and used the cut off fabric to fit the bodice with side panels to alter the dress to perfectly fit me. In just a week and a half I had all of my fittings and hemmings were done (4 all together.) She even had back up heels when I forgot to bring mine for the hemming. (Shame on me. I was a theatre major and know better). They made sure it got put first in line due to my time crunch and gave me a floor model and a cash discount. They were so sweet and efficient, and fun to talk to. It was a bridesmaid emergency, and they really came through. I put up a pic of the finished product. It turned out absolutely beautiful. I was very excited to bring my bridesmaids to Cecile since making an appointment with her was so so easy. We went in the afternoon and it was definitely not what I expected. Firstly, you will spend a good amount of time sitting down because she shows you two dresses at a time and you get to pick which you want to try on. This is fine but just something that was very different and time consuming, my girls know what their styles are so it would be much easier for them to have gone through the dresses themselves. The reason why I gave one star is because of Cecile's professionalism and mannerism. One of my girls is broader fit, Cecile claimed that she doesn't have any sample dresses that would fit her. She purposely singled her out, told her to wait and said at the very end she will be able to pick the ones she likes and Cecile will help put them against her so she sees what it looks like. This isn't my first shop for bridesmaids, never once have I come across an issue where the store doesn't have sample sizes for all types of bodies. The worst part about this was she said this comment in front of everyone and made my friend feel very very insecure. To top it off, when you sign her contract to get measured, at the bottom in big bold letters it says "I WILL NOT GAIN WEIGHT". The entire time I was there, I felt embarrassed and very uncomfortable that I put my best friends through this. She has a ton of beautiful options, but if you can go elsewhere, do yourself and your friends a favor and do so. read more

Cecile is great! She operates out of a little office suite, not a shop, so it's just you and her, no distractions. When I dropped by, I got to try on a bunch of dresses over an 1.5 hours (she didn't have an appointment after me) and she was so nice and patient. I'm a wayward bride who can't seem to find anything I like in bridal shops (I am a woman of simple/cheap/out of style taste). Cecile was completely understanding and made me feel completely at ease. She wasn't fake or pushy as bridal consultants can be. She was really listening to nail down my sense of style. My bridesmaids and I had an 11:15 am appointment at Cecile's one Saturday. We arrived right on time, but Cecile answered her storefront door apologizing and saying all her co-workers were going to be late that day. Not the best first impression. As other reviewers have noted, the store itself is claustrophobia-inducing small. You walk into the store and...that's as far as you'll get. (To give you an idea, I have four bridesmaids in all and we were cramped in that space.) Upon looking around, most of the dresses were on racks that seemed piled up around us and perhaps to excuse this hot mess, Cecile claimed that she was gearing up for a fashion show the next day. Instead of letting us look around ourselves as in most dress shops, Cecile asked what we were looking for and pulled dresses from out of the chaos herself. I felt like a kid at Ollivanders Wand Shop, watching the owner of the shop meddle through the hoarders-esque wares. The store carried both brand-name and original designs. After pulling a few dresses that the girls had already tried on before, she questioned us as to where they were tried on (at Karoza in Glendale--they actually have a better selection, so try there!) and claimed that was impossible since only certified dress shops could carry that brand name, blah blah blah. Long story short, many of the dresses were either repeats of what we'd seen before or were WAY too tacky/pageant-licious for our tastes. Granted, one of the dresses that ended up being a final contender was cheapest here, but with the shady cash-only requirement and the obviously overwhelmed and frazzled Type-A-Personality store owner (another customer came in and she almost imploded from the stress), we finally decided to purchase bridesmaid dresses elsewhere. Future brides and bridesmaids, unless you're really trying to pinch a penny or get a custom-made gown, save yourselves the headache of visiting this shop. read more

Every time I needed to come in all I had to do was call and make an appt and Cecile was very fast to get back to me and her hours were perfect for my 9-5 job since she was there until 7.
