Tonkatsu ramen
Matthew D.

Visited Cece's today for ramen and I was pleasantly surprised! The establishment is small with only a few tables but we didn't have any trouble finding a spot. The menu was large but not overwhelming and I appreciated the decor and music the restaurant was playing. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently. Our food also came out very quickly and the prices were reasonable with two ramens and two pots of tea being $47. I had the tonkatsu ramen which was very good. The portion sizes were very generous. Seriously, it felt like they gave us a pound of noodles alone. The pork tasted great along with the bamboo shoots, mushrooms, sprouts, and even some pickled ginger. If I had one criticism it's that I wish the broth was a bit more flavorful. It wasn't bad by any means but I'm used to ramen broth having a bigger depth of flavor. Definitely a good place to try out though and I definitely would go back again!

Black garlic ramen which had pork - soo yummy and not spicy so I could spice to my liking

Cece's is my new fav ramen place. They are slighty tucked away from the main road so follow your GPS to get there. When you go in the decor is simple and inviting. My kid and I loved that they were playing spa/light versions of popular songs. It was soooo peaceful. The waitstaff were very attentive and nice. They have adorable kids chopsticks for those who haven't yet mastered regular chopsticks. The ramen meat was a little dry but I didn't care because the meal as a whole was incredibly tasty and enjoyable. Even though it wasn't the fanciest place or the absolute best ramen I have ever had the total package made it the most enjoyable dining experience I've had in recent memory. We will definitely be back again and again.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out before a Revs game at Gillette, it was the only ramen place in the area, so we figured we would give it a try. Food - The pork gyoza was delicious, the sauce was great and flavor was there. This got us super excited for the ramen. I had the black garlic ramen, and my boyfriend got the tonkotsu ramen. Having been to numerous ramen shops in the city, this place was a miss for us. The broth was incredibly bland/flavorless/fatty, no richness. The noodles were confusing as it wasn't traditional ramen noodles, they were more similar to angel hair pasta - also wayyy too much noodle ratio, not enough toppings. The egg was just a simple boiled egg, no soy, no flavor. For me, I didn't have enough garlic flavor, which for black garlic ramen I would expect some sort of garlic undertones. The tonkotsu my boyfriend said it was not rich, mostly watery and fatty. Overall, our ramen experience was a disappointment after seeing the high rating for this place. Service - it was normal, nothing out of the ordinary Ambiance - also normal, decent sized place to eat and has outdoor seating. All in all food was 1.5/5 we gave this place a 2 star because the gyoza was spot on. For ramen, we probably won't be back as there are much better places.

Decided to try this place out after hitting the Wrentham outlets. The place is quaint and clean. The staff are super friendly and attentive. We ordered takoyaki, black garlic ramen soup and dry tan tan noodles. The takoyaki came within 5 mins and was delicious. Almost as up to par as the ones we had in Osaka Japan, just slightly smaller. The garlic noodle has a good garlic flavor & super rich in flavor. The noodles have a great bouncy texture. The chashu is abundant & a good charcoal flavor. The dry tan tan noodles has great flavor, only downside it ws a tad salty for my liking. The egg was super flavorful and I wish I ordered extra! The beansprouts as a good crunch along with the bak choy and ginger. Overall good food and great environment. Will definitely be back.

I came here on a weekend for dinner and it wasn't too packed when we first arrived but it did fill up a bit by the time we left around 7 pm. We knew we wanted ramen but I was so indecisive on which kind to get since there were so many options. Ultimately I tried the spicy miso and my friend had the Tonkotsu Ramen. The spicy miso was mild in terms of spice level, making it very bearable throughout. The broth was good, a bit creamy. The pork was charred well. The egg was my favorite part as it was soft and tasty. I loved how much corn they included. I usually end up wanting to ask for more but not here. The wood ear mushroom was a bit sweet and tender. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and there was plenty of them. Something I observed was that the ratio of broth to topping was perfect. Sometimes I'm left with a bowl of broth by the time I finish but here it was an even balance which meant more flavor in each bite. Since it is in a small plaza, there is plenty of parking which I appreciated. Our waitress was patient in letting us decide on a dish. She was also able to offer some recommendations which helped me make my decision. The food came out quick and it's well priced. The inside is plain but there was plenty of tables, with a few stools along the wall facing outside if you want to car/people watch.

Cece's Ramen was recommended to us and we finally went. The Ramen was absolutely delicious. Huge portions. The dumpling apps were equally as delicious. The service was great. Everyone was very attentive and checked on us often. The Ambiance was lovely. It was warm inside and the music was instrumentals of popular songs. Great evening Will be back

I got the shrimp tempura, pork gyoza, and the miso ramen (spicy). Shrimp tempura was good, gyoza was awesome and so was the ramen. Perfect level of umami without being too salty. Great meal all together and the pricing was pretty standard for a ramen place nowadays. Good portion size as well, I got DoorDash so I can't speak on the service but the meal was great. Will order again

Tonkutso Ramen and a sweet thai tea
Gina S.

Truly a gem. I've been under the weather, and this ramen hit the spot! I had the Tonkutso Ramen and also tried the thai iced tea ( sooo good) and crispy spring rolls. Everything was packed with flavor..layers of different textures and fresh ingredients. Highly reccomend!

Black Garlic Ramen with added chili oil

Discovered a local Ramen spot that recently opened in Plainville. Great location...plenty of parking, with a good amount of seating inside. I was quickly greeted and seated once I walked in. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. My server was helpful and checked on me regularly. Since it was my first time in, I just went with a bowl of their Ramen. Decided to go with the Black Garlic Ramen with chili oil (they add it for you). The ramen was really good. The only thing for me that I wasn't a fan of, was the pork Chashu. It is thinner than what I've had at other Ramen spots. Other than that it was a nice bowl of Ramen. The hours of this location are not typical hours. They are closed certain days of the week and limited hours during the days they are open. I'd suggest calling before you go just to make sure they are open. I'll definitely be back!

Cece's Ramen opened this week in the former Victoria's Cafe space in Plainville. This family owned eatery serves up ramen bowls, rice bowls, meat entrees, salads, Japanese appetizers, dessert (ice cream) and a kids menu. At the time of this posting, they are open Wednesday to Saturday for lunch (close before 3pm) and dinner (reopen at 4:30pm). The cozy dining room has table seating and high chair seating along the front window. I stopped in here for dinner recently. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen ($14.95 plus tax) which came out in a black clay bowl. This ramen dish had a rich and creamy pork and chicken broth, soft thin noodles, half egg, bamboo, green onion, wood ear mushrooms and tender grilled pork chashu which was the best part. The ramen soup had good flavors with a salty rich taste in the broth. I sprinkled some ichmi togarashi red pepper on my soup for a little kick. I finished the entire ramen and cashed out promptly so I could get back on the road. The check was $15.88 with tax and before tip.

Great ramen and Thai-ish spot. Portion was big. Flavor was nice. Service was fast and efficient. Skip the trip to Boston. Nice little hiding gem in southern mass area.

Vegetable Ramen

PROS: Great service, relaxing ambience, and some of the tastiest wood ear mushrooms I've had CONS: Vegetarian options limited If you're in the mood for a mouthwatering bowl of ramen, go to Cece's! I tried the vegetable ramen. The broth was light, but tasty, and the toppings were great. I really loved the tofu (it was crispy and absorbed the flavor of the broth) and the wood ear mushrooms. Service was fast and our server was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. I'll come back to Cece's Ramen again soon! :) 5/5 stars

Walked past this small noodle bar on my way to PPAC to catch a show and thought I would grab a bite…read morepost show. Easy access just across the street from PPAC, both table and bar style seating. Very friendly and helpful service as I was quickly seated at bar and provided with some awesome recommendations with the miso salad and ragu. The ragu was phenomenal with perfect combination of fresh noodles, combo of meats and a bit of spice that gives it a little extra kick. Good selection of beers and drinks to wash your meal down over conversations with staff or friends. Stop on in for some great noodles in a casual and relaxed atmosphere!

If you're a vegetarian, I'd suggest skipping this restaurant. Went in last night for dinner wanting…read morea soup because it was cold out. The server said there was really only one option on the menu for vegetarians which is what I ordered. The food is served luke warm and for $15 I'm pretty sure I could have made this same dish at home for much cheaper and probably better. It has a spicy chili oil on the side that you mix in along with the pickled radish which was more salty than pickled tasting. One bunch of noodles wasn't properly cooked and clumped at a section. I consider myself pretty good eating with chopsticks and the slippery noodles proved to be quite difficult to eat. Not a good option if you're on a date and maybe concerned with how you will look eating this dish. Probably the saving grace of the dish was the mushrooms which allowed me to give this place 3 stars. I will not be back to this restaurant. I only ordered a hot water with a lemon for a drink. No lemon was given, only a chipped little cup (pictured), and the restaurant was freezing. I kept my coat on the entire time. The menu is really tiny. I suggest looking at the menu before going and really making sure there is something you want to try before going. Rookie mistake made on my end!
