Wouldn't come here, bad experience and way overpriced super sports cards right down the road and way better atmosphere.

My one and only visit to Mindtaker Miniatures (so far!) was the result of a lucky windfall: finding…read morea board game I wanted for cheap online, only to discover it was being sold by this local retailer, and available for free pickup, making it even cheaper! Noice! Upon entering, I was greeted cordially by the person at the counter, given a tour of the shop, and an explanation of their (mostly secondhand, but high quality) business model that allows them to undercut other shops, as well as the predatory pricing of certain miniature manufacturers (if you're a wargamer, you know who I'm talking about). Everything from RPG books, figurines, paints, board games, dice, toys and accessories can be found within, new and/or used, and if you're okay with a gently loved, open box copy of whatever it is you're looking for, it's likely going to be a steal of a deal! With a local presence as robust as its online counterpart; an incredible and extensive selection of esoteric essentials and accessories; friendly and helpful employees; and more-than-competitive prices, Mindtaker Miniatures is here to stay and play 'til the endgame, score a truckload of points, and emerge the likely victor of the gaming grand melee!

Great selection and very nice staff not to mention the good prices and abundance of services…read moreoffered here. As an aspiring board game designer, having local support is an advantageous tool to have in one's…read moretoolbox. I've used several of Print & Play's services on multiple occasions: everything from purchasing various bits and bobs (meeples, tokens, etc), to printing custom cards, hex tiles, and even game boards. Apparently they even do 3D printing now, as well! Turn around time for most orders is around 48 hours, and the convenience of being able to drive up and pick up my order on a lunch break, bypassing shipping fees, is huge, and gets the components into my hands swiftly, allowing me to continue brainstorming and testing. That is, until I get a new idea, and have to print everything over again! /facepalm I would say prices are very reasonable; I've seen similar vendors online that charge the same or more, plus shipping, for the same quality of components, so I've yet to find a competitive alternative. My only negative experiences with Admagic were years ago, when two separate custom card deck orders ended up with upwards of half of the deck misprinted or improperly cut, resulting in ugly, off-center, virtually unusable cards. It took some sorting out through several (rather frustrated) emails on my part, and a discussion with the owner, Shari Spiro. Fortunately, we had serendipitously met at PAX a few years prior, and had exchanged information when we discovered we lived in the same town, and I was in the process of designing my own game. Once everything was sorted out, I was satisfied, and continue to use Print and Play's services to this day. Board game design feels like a "one-step forward, three steps back" process at times, but I'm glad to have Admagic there to help me pick up the pieces...as well as print new ones! Just be sure to check your orders for quality and accuracy.

Once again, PnP comes through in a timely fashion making great game counters ("tokens"),…read morespecifically for playtesting a 3rd party tactical game variant. Thank you again Jess!

I always pass by this place and see people playing in the evenings so I decided to pop in to see…read morewhat it's all about. I came in early in the day so it was very quiet. The two guys who work in the day are very friendly and chatty. I popped in to browse their pokemon collection. They had a good collection of packs and a few boxes. I've been to other card stores that didn't have nearly as many. I was there just to browse, but the guys working were more than happy to entertain me and answer any questions I had and also show me everything they had that might interest me.

What I expected to be another simple evening of trading card negotiations ended up being pretty…read moredisappointing. I've supported this shop for a long time, and they've supported my passion for the Pokémon TCG. I can literally see cards I once traded in sitting in their binders and display cases. But reflecting on my most recent visit, there are two issues that really stand out. 1. Trade-In and Cash Value Are Low The percentages they offer for both cash and trade are noticeably lower than other shops. A competitor priced the same cards roughly 30% higher--the only reason I didn't go with them that day was because their cash flow was low and they couldn't pay out at the time. That discrepancy alone is frustrating. 2. Staffing & Negotiation Have Become Inconsistent In the past, staff have always treated me respectfully. They weren't rude this time either, but historically they've been fair with negotiation--occasionally offering a small discount or working closer to market value. This time, that didn't happen. They insisted on giving "market value" for just one card and then even less percentage for the rest. I asked for around 40%, and we eventually agreed on a deal involving a $10 card. But at the last minute, I was pressured into dropping the deal by another ~5% "so everyone's happy." The truth is, I wasn't -- especially considering I was already accepting a lower percentage just to make the deal work. If I'm a regular customer, I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect fair negotiation. I wasn't even met in the middle at 35% on a $220 value. Bottom Line: If you're looking for a solid selection of cards and okay pricing, this shop is fine. But if you're interested in selling or trading, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. Unfortunately, the stereotype about some hobby shops being cut-throat with trade-ins feels pretty accurate here.

There's fewer tables than I was expecting. I was also surprised they had all the windows painted over so there's no natural light in the joint! My boyfriend and I first looked at their menu to see what they had and I love how their menu is themed! They also have lots of pastries both savory and sweet. I got their blackberry Faywild soda (their take on a Italian soda) and pumpkin pie macaron which was tart and delightful. My boyfriend got their white chocolate mocha was he was very pleased with, and he was browsing their TCGs and board games. They have plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy your drinks, snacks or to play board games. I cannot wait to come back to try out more of their offerings and to support a neat cafe that is dog friendly!
