I hadn't been here in a while. Used to love the French dip. Not so much anymore. It's basically bread with 2 little pieces of no flavor beef! Service was lacking neither one of us ever got a refill on our drinks. The mushrooms were greasy and way over breaded. The sweet potato fries tasted like microwaved mush! Don't recommend for food but is a good place for hanging out and pool. I told the server I wasn't happy with my sandwich and she shrugged her shoulders and said ya and walked away. There were 5 booths of people 8 people at the bar and only one bartender/ server the bartender is great but the owner is lacking on hiring a server. Everything was late for all the guests. They were coming up to the bar to get things and their tab. Bad owners / good bartender though. read more

This place is an average spot to grab some decent food if you're in the area. The service gets the job done but is certainly not friendly. Their menu consists of your standard pub fare. They have a full bar and a decent number of taps with domestics and some local craft offerings. I had a beer out of Palisade that was awesome. I had Southwest eggrolls to start and they were the best thing I had. Really yummy! The French Dip was OK. I would've bumped this place up a star if the atmosphere weren't so uninviting. Super disappointed with my take home order and the way the staff addressed the issue. Ordered a chicken salad (over $10) my salad was a bed of lettuce, with 4 tiny pieces of old, hard, disgusting chicken, oh and some grated cheese... what a meal!! I called to address the issue and give them the benefit of the doubt, she admitted they had a new cook and they were working out some kinks ( not sure how you can mess up a salad it's not rocket science), I then asked to return it for a refund and was denied because Ceila the owner was not in. I asked what they would've done if I was dining in and she still stated there would be no refund without Ceila there and her approval. Good way to lose customers in such a small town. Used to love this place, but yesterday (6/19) we had a late lunch there and the beer mug given to my wife was chipped. It cut her lip and it began to bleed. If you were to hunt for me on a Friday or Saturday night, you would NOT find me at a bar - NOT one in Delta, Colorado; and ESPECIALLY NOT one with the word "Tavern" in the name. But I agreed to humor my wife, who had agreed to attend her boss's birthday party. Where was it to be held? At a tavern... In Delta. As I parallel-parked directly in front of CB's Tavern, I could actually see about fifty feet deep into the bar through the plate glass windows. There was no smokey haze, no black leather-clad bikers, and no stumbling drunks. My blood pressure eased. Once through the doors, we were warmly greeted by a knowledgeable (and attractive) waitress and our drinks served by a professional bartender. I even remarked to my wife how surprisingly clean everything was. Patrons aside, everything was well-kept and comfortable. The main hall was brightly lit and sufficiently furnished with dining tables, bar tables, and of course, pool tables. There was even a church pew to help any wayward Baptists feel more at home. But still, this was Delta, which meant that many of the girls at the bar drove bigger, meaner trucks and had more tattoos than most of my guy friends. We quickly met up with our party, and half way through my Black & Tan, I was actually enjoying myself, despite my pool skills revealing how little time I spend in places like this. The ambiance of the establishment was a vibrant mixture of a brew pub, occupied by those in their twenties and thirties, married to a small-town steak house full of empty-nesters. Overall, CB's presented itself well, kept itself clean and neat, and most importantly, offered something that Delta has been desperately needing for some time. As far as a bar in Delta goes, it's good enough. Not a large menu if you're hungry but they do have a lot of Colorado beers on tap. Bartender was friendly, but just like any joint in town, if you're not from here the locals know it and they give you the stink-eye all night. Two bar pool tables, some chairs and some cheap LCD TVs. Great bar and place for a lunch time food stop. They have 10+ taps with local brew. Had the IPA which was darker than usual but delicious. The boys had the stout and the red Irish which they both finished...which is a standard occurrence however they liked the brews. For food we had the buffalo wings, with a good amount of meat on the wings versus a slice of meat and all bone. The Navajo tacos with green sauce (apparently a Thursday special) were great! The green sauce has a good amount of cook and loved the Navajo bread instead of a traditional taco. They've got a pool table and wifi however I couldn't get it to work. read more

Stopped here for lunch completely at random while passing thru town. To be honest our expectations were low, but we were hungry and needed to eat quick and get back on the road. The place is nice and clean and looked like it was newly remodeled. The bar had a good selection of beers on tap and in bottles. I was a little disappointed in the TV's they had available as I wanted to watch the Euro Cup during lunch...so not a place where you would go to watch a game. We had a custom made sammy and a burger. Both were surprising good. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd prob. say this place is a 3.5 star, until the little old lady came out with her homemade pies. Homemade pies in a tavern! After an epic 3.5 hour zippy drive from Denver our bellies were famished. Our first stop at the diner was not appetizing, so we took a chance across the street. Homemade chips and salsa made this stop 5 star from the start. They were in front of us before our order was even entered! Impeccable service! Delicious grilled cheese from local cheese connoisseur in Olathe, frickles, and tomato bisque topped off with a local brew from Palisade made this pre-thanksgiving lunch better than mom's turkey. If we'd had room to spare--homemade pie would have been a perfect end to our meal! read more

Sorry but we have been coming here for 8 years and I can no longer recommend CB's. Our last few visits have been very poor. If they are busy, you are out of luck. We were ignored so we finally left after 30 minutes. They were busy but nobody seemed to know what they were doing. This week, we arrived around 1:15 on Saturday. Our daughter and children were visiting. We sat in in the front window was sadly covered in flies. It started out ok but the we got the wrong appetizer, which wouldn't have been so bad except we only received it almost an hour later with our meals and it was the worst basket of fried pickles that we have ever received at CB's. It took an hour to get our order and there were only 4 tables of people in the restaurant. Apparently they had a problem with their Door Dash order because they were out of roast beef. Anyway, an hour later and two very patient 5/6 year olds, we received our food. The fries were hard and undercooked. The children's grilled cheese sandwichs had 6 or 7 layers of unmelted cheese. One of us has a special diet and their order was incorrect. My salad came out ok, but then I had to wait for dressing. Well... they felt bad and had to call someone to see if they could comp something. In the end, the didn't charge us to remake the fries, gave us one beer, and I think they gave our very hungry granddaughters their grilled cheese sandwiches. Overall, $100 later and 2 hours later, we were VERY disappointed. I wouldn't write this if it didn't seem like a new trend. read more

July 26th First and last time in. Ordered grilled cheese and fries...took more than 35 min. It was about two in the afternoon and there was 6 people in the whole place. Two "cooks" in the kitchen, visible from the dinning room, could be seen standing around talking, laughing, clearly completely unconcerned with waiting orders. Food, when in finally got to us, wasn't bad...but service goes a long way. read more

I am local to Delta. After CBs went under new ownership I was excited to support the tavern. Very disappointed. I have tried them 3 times and each time I say never again. Third time was the charm. First time service was hit or miss and very chaotic, second time the bartender was so rude to my group we had one drink and we left. Today a year later I went again, woops. Their menu advertised a certain beer size they brought us a smaller can, we asked about it only to be told thats an old menu. So we asked for the missing advertised amount in a separate glass since the price was hefty, they brought us that but then they brough us a whole new beer we didnt request. Since they bring it open we drank it. So now to the bill. We had the extra beer we didn't want and a top off charge for the missing adervtised size. So $8 extra to try and get an advertised beer. This is the last time we will support this establishment. Pretty disappointed this is a small town that thrives on local support but in my opinion it's mismanaged and over priced. I paid cash since I hear they have a credit card processing fee. Can verify that. Upside wings were finally good this round. read more

Today was our second time stopping at CB's for lunch traveling to Telluride and it did not disappoint. The service is stellar and the food hits the spot every time. The soups are made from scratch and might just be better than I make. :). Tomato bisque and spicy vegetable were what we lucky to have. Salads are fresh and burgers are great. My Dad and I we staying overnight in Delta while on a fishing trip and decided to wander on down to CB's based on the Yelp reviews. Glad we did! Very cool small town bar vibe with extremely friendly locals and very decent burgers. We had a blast playing shuffleboard all night and shooting the S with some locals. If you are looking to grab a beer and a bite in Delta this is as good a place as any to do it. read more

Best place for drinks in town. Great environment, good service. Food is usually fresh and local. Personal favorite is the build your own burger with local jalapeño jack cheese and bacon. They often have live music or Dj's with specials everyone the Broncos play. Definitely worth a stop. read more

Stopped by to try the food and was extremely disappointed. VERY poor service and lots of food problems. Ordered well done burger was raw inside; got miracle whip instead of real mayo (disgusting!); got a bowl of green chili (but no toppings of cheese or onions and no crackers offered or came with). Drinks were cheap but tasted awful. Asked for extra limes and got a sliver. This reopened joint needs to come a long way before I grace their doorstep again. read more

The food is always spot on! I have had everything from their custom burgers(with a fried egg every time) to the French dip and even the fish'n'chips. Great food and great staff. Whenever I go for food early afternoon Baylee always greets me with a smile and takes the time to chat and make you feel like you are part of the family.
