After several months of my online order being pushed out, it was finally available for pick up. I arrived on a Sunday, right at opening. The two female employees were rude. There was no eye contact made, as one of the employee was on her computer. She asked me for my order number. I told her I had the barcode for her to scan, and she coldly said, "I need the order number." She seemed really annoyed. When the other employee brought the items to my car, before I could even turn to say "thank you," she was already walking away. I don't understand why they were so rude. If they'd rather not work, then perhaps they should look for work elsewhere. I won't ever order from this store again. I only ordered something because it was on sale. There was better customer service at Pottery Barn. read more

I walked around with ease without someone following me which was nice. Finally an associate ask whether they could assist me with anything. She was polite, kind and answered a few questions. The value of CB2 is not your average furniture but it it great quality. Still need to make a decision which couch I am going to purchase. read more

Terrible experience -- DO NOT TRUST VERBAL PROMISES. We were undecided about the dining chair color during the Black Friday sale and took swatches home. After reviewing our table and a photo, sales associate Becca told us to buy the white chairs and call the store the next day after 2:00 PM (when she'd be on shift) to switch to the brown ones if we changed our minds. We called; she never returned our call and the white chairs were delivered to the store. The in-store label showed no price difference between the two colors and Becca never mentioned any extra cost. Now store manager Karen says she's "gathering information," calls it a "misunderstanding," and acted like she had to pick sides to see who was telling the truth -- extremely unprofessional. Her communication was poor and dismissive; repeatedly her "solution" was, "Do you want to cancel the order for the white ones?" Cancelling the order was presented as the only fix, which is unacceptable. No wonder the employee behaved this way when management's attitude is like this. There is no "middle" here -- we followed the associate's instructions and were penalized for the store's internal mismanagement. Complete lack of accountability -- avoid this store. read more

Sigh...this used to be one of my favorite stores, but thanks to shady, rude Lizette, one of their managers at UTC, I am done with the brand. Absolutely rude and deceitful just to make money. She tried to swindle me for an item that was marked down from LAST SEASON, that she and her team charged me full price for, then lied about it when I discovered it was a discounted item. The item was tagged by them for $207.97 (it went to clearance) and she charged me $699.00 for it, but wasn't smart enough to take off the tag. I went back to the store to show her, she attempted to make me look silly in front of other customers but clearly she didn't anticipate arguing with a lawyer. Needless to say, I got my refund. I said ok, no need to shop in the store - I'll just order and have stuff delivered from online. My order that was in stock, I've been waiting over a month for most of it. I received a couple of items, pillow cases - they were stretched/used, had a slight odor and no tags on them. All the reviews are saying the same thing, CB2....hire back your old staff or lose more of your customers...and fix Lizette, she needs some retraining and some Listerine for her foul customer unfriendly mouth. I stumbled across this place online while looking for a set of coupe glasses to add to my glassware collection. I searched the internet for a few days before I finally settled on the ones they sell here. The price was much more decent than the ones I was looking at on Amazon and I felt much more comfortable making a purchase such as this with a business that has a physical location in the city. Broken glasses arriving to my door would've probably made me angry lol I didn't take many pictures of the showroom because there was an event going on and I didn't want to be rude snapping pictures while they were doing their thing, but the showroom is spectacular. Very very beautiful pieces. Obviously it's more on the pricey side given that this is at UTC in La Jolla but in all honesty the prices I saw weren't as high as I would've imagined them to be for furniture like that. I got a lot of contemporary modern vibes from this place and they had me outdone with all the marble they were selling. The staff were also very fashionable which really adds to the ambience of the place. I'm giving 3 stars only because of service. I've seen a bunch of 1-star reviews and I prayed I wouldn't have any issues but alas. I placed my order for pick up early in the morning. Around 1pm I called to find out if I could pick it up after work because I still hadn't received an email or text that it was ready for pickup. They said that would be fine and they'd get my order ready. Fast forward to 430, still no text or email but I'm headed out the door to go pick up my order. I called them on my way there so they could have it ready by the time I got there. They said they'd have it ready in 10 minutes. I showed up and gave them my name and lo and behold it STILL wasn't ready. I waited around in this very lavish but also very fragile furniture store for about 15 minutes with my 5 year old who was trying to touch everything shiny and breakable before they finally brought my order out. I don't mind waiting. I understand being busy. I've worked in retail before, but I called twice. I didn't want to wait in a store like this with a busybody 5 year old and risk breaking any items I really didn't want to pay for. I ended up risking that anyway because the ball was dropped. My anxiety was through the roof the entire time lol. The man who packaged up my order was very sweet and he seemed kind of new so I knew it wasn't his fault. I could tell a few of the staff members there were a bit perturbed about how poorly this was handled by the two associates that told me it would be ready for pickup. I'm not giving up on this place just yet. I'm so happy with my glasses. They fit in perfectly with the rest of my glassware, but given all the reviews about bad service, that should be something that becomes a priority in team meetings in the near future. read more

I purchased kitchen hardware online from CB2 which says that non-furniture items can be returned in store. The hardware was very poor quality and more than half had visual defects and needed to be replaced. I went to the store to return these items and was promptly told that they do not accept hardware returns because they don't stock it in store and don't want to be stuck with it. The employee was super rude with me and said "it's your problem, not ours." Upon talking to customer service, each store can set its own return policy. Buyer beware as there is no way to know what this CB2 store will accept for returns without calling or visiting the store. I will not be shopping here again. read more

Poorly managed stored! The store manager and staff terrible! The customer service awful! I just closed on a new home and wanted to purchase furniture for several rooms. I worked with a designer (Crystal) for two hours. Crystal promised to send me everything we selected via email. I shared my floor plan with her and she promised to make additional suggestions to fit my home. After several weeks never receiving anything I went back into the store to follow up. This time I went to another salesperson and explained what happened. Instead of helping me she went and grabbed the idiot that dropped the ball. The idiot said she remembered me but did NOTHING! Then asked if I wanted to start all over again! I walked out and gave Restoration Hardware my business! She made a HUGE mistake! Her and the rest of the staff just sit around and give off attitude. Snobs and appeared to be gossipy. Don't waste your time or money at this location. If this were my store I would definitely hire a new manager and get rid of the staff that would rather sit around and gossip about the customers versus actually helping them. Jeffery the manager from this store and another male associate with curly brown hair were both snappy and rude with me. Don't do in store pick up for your orders because you put yourself at risk to getting terrible customer service. I've never been interrupted several times while trying to explain a transaction situation which was information that they needed to know about.. Jeffery the store manager was incredibly condescending and seems to struggle with maintaining his professionalism. Hope CB2 corporate looks into this because I am shocked beyond belief by this experience. read more

We asked for the manager and he responded rudely and claimed that it was their store policy not to help with floor samples event though we purchased it and it wasn't cheap either. I'm a regular CB2 shopper. The decor is modern, fresh and bright. The accessories are reasonably priced and there is always excellent service from all of the salespeople. I recently had an impromptu free design session from one of the designers who suggested some excellent pieces to refresh my decor and I couldn't be happier with the purchases I made. read more

I literally bought them and had them in the bag they gave them to me in until my sofa got delivered two days ago. So condescending. The quality is so poor too! They will not honor the promotion when I processed my purchase in time. The furniture is stunning however their sales staff is terrible. They talk to each other the whole time and when you ask them a question they act like you're bothering them. When she finally acknowledged me she didn't even answer my question.. I'm shocked that such a nice store would hire such unprofessional employees. Called CB2 at La Jolla Village about a wedding gift that arrived broken and asked about options for the return of the dining ware set. I had looked online but the set had been discontinued. The lady who answered the phone told me that they could not give me money back but could take care of my problem. I told her that I was traveling 50 miles to come to the store and she assured me that they could help me. After driving into San Diego and coming into the store a different person at the counter told me she could not help me. I told her that I had spoken to someone earlier that day who said to come on down to the store and I would be helped. She disappeared and after some time she returned to tell me that I would just have to ship it back myself and there was nothing they could do. I left the store VERY DISSAPIONTED and drove back to my home. (Another 50 miles in traffic now and 2.5 hours wasted.) I then called the store and spoke to the same person who said I could come back to the store and they would ship it for me but couldn't help me with the return or refund. I have the names of all the persons involved but will not share them. I will never shop here again and will tell everyone I know not to also. read more
