needed to grab some coffee before our trek back to LA. luna…read morecoffee bar seemed like THE spot to grab coffee. there was a line out the door after following the yellow brick road! there is a cute little seating area you can sit at to either enjoy your coffee or brunch or both! the cafe is a few shops down. i ordered their brown sugar shaken espresso and a vanilla iced latte. the brown sugar shaken espresso was a lot stronger than i am used to back home, like there was an extra shot or two. it was really good tho. service was good. the girls were moving trying to pump out everyone's order! really cute shop. lots to look at on the walls. def would visit again. parking: lots of street parking.

Then you can eat inside on the patio. This waiting in line wasn't good for me because my foot was in a boot and the line moved very slowly. Then I couldn't even see the menu until I got closer to the order window so that took more time. Anyway, my friend and I got a chance to catch up while eating our weird food on the patio, so thanks for that. I ordered some sort of smoothie and wanted to also try the waffle so ordered one of those. Can't recall what flavors, though, sorry. I wouldn't come here again, simply because this is not the type of food I prefer.

The eggs were fluffy and creamy, the pastries were perfectly flaky, and every bite tasted fresh and homemade. The strawberry scone and almond croissant were especially delicious! I had a lovely tea and cappuccino while sitting on the cute patio area, which was spacious, relaxing, and very walkable to the beach. The service was wonderful too -- the ladies working there were so friendly and welcoming, and they had great music playing that made the whole atmosphere feel cozy and happy. You can really tell this place is locally owned and made with a lot of love. While we were in line looking over the menu, the staff greeted several customers by name and already knew their orders, which made it feel like such a genuine community favorite. Everything was top-notch -- 10/10, would absolutely recommend if you're visiting Cayucos!

Their ice cream ($5 kids, $6 single scoop, $9 double) was some of the best we've had around SLO and the gelato ($6 small) was the authentic Italian deal! We tried the butter pecan and honey churro ice cream and the mista gelato and all three were heavenly. The best part was our server who was so friendly, so helpful, and just had the best attitude. He made the visit even more memorable. The candy all looked fresh and fun - amazing considering the extensive selection of gourmet artisan truffles to vintage candy brands of childhood. This is no tourist trap. Locals and visitors, check it out when you're headed to the Cayucos pier.
