ZERO INTEGRITY IN THE CON-VENDER AUTO FAMILY Unfortunately, I'm unable to leave a zero star rating...and, of course, bad faith and complete lack of integrity aren't illegal. Regardless, here goes for the sake of y'all out there. Absolutely the most disappointing customer service and deal-making experience of my life. Car dealers are much-maligned for their business practices. Cavender drags down the entire industry's reputation to a new low--in one transaction! I was fully engaged in purchasing a used vehicle--credit report, proof of income, documents in progress, and wired funds. The only thing I hadn't done is promise my first-born child! My salesperson and I struck up a good (what I thought trusting) relationship--e-mailing and texting many times to exchange information and stay updated on the progress. It was an out-of-state deal so documents were FedEx'd to my home. Having wired downpayment funds, completed documents, and sealed the return FedEx envelope, I sent a picture of the signed deal sheet. All done...so I thought. While in the midst of the deal closure process I noticed the vehicle was still listed--and the price had been increased by $2000. They were clearly leveraging my in-progress deal to try and squeeze some extra dollars out of another buyer. By now, you've likely guessed how this story ends. A few hours after holding up my end of the bargain, I get a call letting me know theCon-vender Auto Family had sold the vehicle out from under me--not even the courtesy of a right-of-first-refusal. The Con-vender Auto Family's mission statement on their website states: "We are driven by the understanding that our success will ultimately be determined more by the number of people we help, rather than the amount of product we sell." Actions speak louder than words, Stephen and Rick. I caution anyone who is considering dealing with Cavender (across any of their dealerships). If integrity is in such a short supply on the front end, wait until they get you into the service bay. read more

My husband bought a car from there and we took it back 3 times for the same problem, still didn't fix it.we had to put it in the shop and pay 1200 dollars to fix what they should have fixed.they will not answer the phone or call you back.we are still having to sink money in this piece of crap.they sure don't mind taking that payment but wont even discuss anything with you or try to help. The only thing they did fix was a seat.belt that they should have checked before they sold it.The staff are very rude and I'm pretty sure they are not qualified to be working there.worst experience ever,I'm just telling our experience, I hope yours was better than ours.and if you haven't dealt with them,I would advise you to go somewhere else.this business want to get you in a 2 year payment plan and then forget your name til its time to take that payment!!!!! read more

Me and my Husband went to them for a car his car broke down two weeks after having it and needed a whole new engine. He was out of work for two due to no car that he had just purchased , and they wouldn't reimburse the towing fee which they are supposed to "cover". My car needed a new alternator but instead of them doing that the first two times I broke down they just kept putting new batteries in. It wasn't until shut down in the middle of nowhere and paid $300 to get my car towed (six hours after I picked it up). That they finally put on a new alternator. And they wouldn't reimburse my towing fee either. They are obviously scamming hard working people and need to be stopped. Honestly I returned a vehicle just days before a suicide attempt which I am thankful to be alive, but this shady business turned around, filed a loss of income causing me to have to pay a penalty with IRS, and when I did finally get everything in order and rebuild my life; they refuse to update my file and report it accurately. read more

They were super duper nice!!! Buttt every time my family gets a car from there, they seem to have something wrong. I recently got mine a while ago and instantly had to change 2 wheel hubs. $300. The first like month of having it and not doing hardly anything with it. I only drive to work and back. I am current having sensor Issues. They have nice cars and VERY VERY nice staff but the cars aren't up to par as they should. They all have check engine lights and etc. we had to change the throttle body issue as well. They sold me a 2015 Chevy Cruze. It needed to be in the shop as soon as a drive it off the lot. It has had multiple issues and the service department as well as Genisis Financial, Megan and Mary specifically were absolutely no help. They were extremely rude and condescending. I go to school in Atlanta and it is extremely inconsiderat, inconvenient and dangerous for them to suggest I drive a car with a smoking engine to Gainesville. I was sold a 2012 FORD FOCUS that had recalls. The car would stop and stall in ongoing traffic, at red lights, would shift gears and stall at random moments. I told Cavandar about the issue after asking different mechanics what to do they all suggested taking it back to the dealership After telling Cavandar they said they would look at the car but i had to get it to them. ( I LIVE 3 HOURS AWAY) i had to use ALL my towing mileage to get the vehicle to them They said it was fixed I HAD THE CAR FOR LESS THAN A WEEK. it had the same issue. So, they got the vehicle the next time. cool. I was told i can do a trade in. OK I thought things were going to shift. i live 3 hours away the staff is aware I'm thinking since i am a paying customer (who is by the way still being expected to make payments on this vehicle that is not safe to drive , not driveable and is currently with them) that they would be diligent and help me get into another car especially considering that they sold me a recalled vehicle and that they could not fix it. They barely had anything to pick from and when i did find something that i wanted i was told they could not hold it for me . I AM 3 HOURS AWAY. let me remind you. Each time i checked in with a car , told them i wanted it, it was sold. Now this is what truly pissed me off I finally found a ride to take me 3 hours (they changed their anniversary plans around just to take me to Cavender) to this place. I communicated that morning that i was coming for that car and i am on the way. While half way there they stop answering my calls. When i get there i was told the car was sold. I kept my cool ... ( and i should nt have ) at this point i have no faith in them , they have no loyalty to customers, they have no moral ground obviously and Mr Cavender plays like he is to busy to speak with paying customers to correct the issue fully. Im expected to be appreciative of just words... " You can do a trade in" but thats only if you can catch a vehicle.... " im being told to settle the acct for a car that is AT THEIR LOCATION" i dont have it!!! so what am being expected to pay for !!!??? A loan .... for a car that was recalled and a car that i do not have???? and you won't trade? On 3rd day we went back and tried to get downpayment due to faulty car with several major problems. Owner was rude smiling and laughing at everything we pointed out to him. Well the salesman was pretty nice and professional. I took my friend there to purchase a car. She had the car two days and it started acting up and the engine light was on. The car stopped on her a few times. She was able to take it in and they fixed it for free but who wants to go through that.
