First, this is a Muni! You can not expect a lot. Played the course a couple of days after a lot of rain. So yes, it was wet and muddy. But not that bad what I expected. Cave Creek has a lot of dog legs, and blind shots. There are a few water hazards throughout the course. When I first arrived, I really thought it looked like a flat and easy course. Was very surprised how challenging it was at times. You need to play smart, and not play out of your range. Had a fund day, we had an 4-1/2 hour round. Everyone was nice and the cantina had a great brat!

If you are a Northern California resident like me and you're looking for someplace to golf in the Phoenix area, what I'm about to say will amaze you. Phoenix residents however, are apparently quite used to this: Okay. I paid for 18 holes for myself and my nephew, a riding cart, rental clubs for said nephew and a dozen golf balls. The entire total came to $89!!! That won't even cover the green fees at most courses around the San Francisco area! All this for a Friday morning tee time. How crazy is that? The course is very straightforward with a Rating/Slope of 71.9/122 from the tips and 68.3/117 from the forward tees. I honestly thought it played a little easier than this, but then again the Arizona Golf Association doesn't have Pebble Beach or Spyglass to view as comparison. There are two forced carry holes but otherwise, any novice should be able to get around this course without wanting to give up after the Front 9. For a muni in the middle of the desert, I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course, the greens and the tee boxes. Brown patches of grass were few and far between. The greens rolled fairly smooth given the amount of play. I can't comment on the pace as I never saw the group in front of us, nor was there ever a group behind us. All in all, it was a fun course at a great price. The caveat of course is the oppressive Arizona heat. Figure out how much water you will need, then bring twice that much. I would reccomend wearing a wide-brim hat, LONG SLEEVE golf shirt and slathering sunscreen on any and every exposed piece of skin. How these people put up with this year round is beyond me.

Now Phoenician only has 18 holes, lost 9 holes to vacation homes being build around the course. The course is still beautiful and back 9 has some good views with beautiful landscape surrounding the course. As for the course, it is in excellent condition with minor brown patches due to the summer heat. Most holes are target golf so Make sure you know where to aim. It is challenging due to undulating fairways and greens where our group truly enjoy the round. Will definitely return when I find good deals on teeoff.com again. Nice golf carts with TuneIn stations. Cooler with ice to chill your canteens. Chill bottled water provided in most comfort stations Friendly OSP and staffs. Bathroom on course: A+

We enjoyed a lovely dinner unfortunately we weren't close to the restaurant but when we called the front desk we where told the bell boy come to our door with door to door golfcart service . J&G offered an incredible dining experience. I felt like I was at home here and I can't recommend this Luxury resort enough. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met. If you're looking for luxury accommodations at your fingertips this place is an absolute must-try!

Yes, there were some minor brown patches on the fairways but nothing major. The views from hole number 10 mens black tee box is amazing. After this, all my focus totally got shifted to the beautiful Phoenix Mountain preserve. LOL. Price: Ok, I really don't get any commission for mentioning teeoff.com but I couldn't resist as I find so many good golf deals. Cooler on cart: TWO! Enough room for bottle waters and neck cooling towels. Ice machine: starter area. Comfort station: Both front 9 and back 9 have very CLEAN bathroom, not the portable. A+ in this department. Note: The logistics between the course and the bag drop / checkin 'pro shop' area is not that great. If this is your first golf trip to Lookout Mountain, the entrance for bag drop and checking in is at the Point in Tyme restaurant. Do not go to the golf course directly. Otherwise, you will need at least another 8 minutes to turn around and head back to the top, depending on incoming traffic. Or, 10 to 15 minutes walk/trek uphill, roughly par 4 distance. Background: I am an avid golfer. I do not have the distance but I hit straight and on the fairway 99.9% of the time. And I have a solid short game. My HCP is between 30 and 35. I review basic requirements from a golf course which I believe most lady golfers can appreciate: esthetic, character, and female friendliness.

In fact, one of the first signs that you'll come across is a quote by Tiger Woods. "Some of my happiest memories are of spending time with my Pops on the golf course having putting contests." Awww! I came with my fam and for the adults it's $30 a person and for kids it's $20 for all day putting. It includes your golf club rental and a ball. You can also have the option of opting out of the cost if you just want to watch and in my case, I was just going help my kiddo and observe. We wanted to have lunch first and the food is actually pretty good! I actually got the burger in a wrap which made it feel healthier yet still savory & delicious! There is also a shaded playground, foosball and ping pong tables. There are 2 mini golf courses to choose from, black (easier and flatter) and red (harder and hillier with obstacles). It's designed like a classic putting course without the cutest obstacles. So for younger kids, they may not find it as engaging unless they are really into putting. You can also order drinks and food while on the course and it'll be delivered right to you. Overall, it was a fun experience!
