the golf course itself is absolutely incredible! if you want to play real desert golf it doesn't get better than this course. It was 1 of the 4 that we played on our trip and it was by far the most unique and beautiful layout of them all. They carved this course right into the middle of the desert making for incredible views on every single hole. What really put it over the top was the customer service. I lost count of how many times I was asked if I needed anything on and off the course. If you want to be treated like royalty while playing golf in the desert then add this to your itinerary! read more

This was so sad. Everyone we talked to told us how great this golf course was, and how much they loved it. Course conditions were terrible. Greens - terrible. Bunkers -terrible. We were so excited to play it, and the 7 people I brought with me all gave me a hard time for 5 days because I included Quintero on our trip. Their "GM" emailed me for a review of our experience, I replied, with no response. They should be ashamed for what they charged us to come play this course an hour away from the rest of the world to come play on a course that they forgot to take care of. The golf course is beautiful. Rolling hills and wide fairways. It's my favorite course we golfed so far. Nice layout and design of the holes. The scenery is quite stunning. It's a gated community so you are greeted at the gate and once again at bag drop prior to parking. The practice facility was great and all part of your green fee. We used our Troon card and got 2-for1. The people we were paired with were great partners. Very enjoyable. A few odd things to note. 1. The club house is basically non- existent. Very small building with the bare necessities. 2. We reserved a tee time and upon email confirmation realized it had been changed. Apparently there is a rule that you cannot play through and they do everything they can to create foursomes. We were only two, hence our time change. That has never happened to us before. In the end it moved us up only one tee time, but it was a little odd. 3. You have about an 8 minute cart drive to get to the first hole and practice area so give yourself enough time. I had a great experience at Quintero. I except top notch service and quality of course conditions when paying top dollar, and Quintero did NOT disappoint! The whole team made me feel very welcome. The course is also stunning. I've played TPC Sawgrass and Bay Hill in Florida. This was up there as far as conditions and quality. The course is also very tough. Amateur golfers beware, this will test you with elevation changes, course shape, etc. I had a blast! Only improvement is that the bunkers are very compacted. It felt like hitting out of cement with compact dirt over actual sand. read more

The issue is with the marshall...like how often does he have to drive by? Came by on every single hole through the front 9. Can't earn troon points nor do they honor your Troon rewards discount tier. Unsure how they can be a Troon course? The course itself is fine, but absolutely not worth the hour-long drive, especially when you consider the arrogance of the staff. From the moment I checked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, as if I should be grateful just to be there. I inquired about my Troon tiered discount, only to be met with a smug laugh and a flat-out "no, we don't honor that." My mistake for assuming a Troon-affiliated course would actually follow the program. Then, when I asked about earning Troon points for my paid round, I got the same dismissive response--another laugh and another "no, we don't give points here." Nowhere on Troon's site or Quintero's does it disclose these exclusions, making the whole thing feel like a bait-and-switch. After reading other reviews, I see I'm not alone in this experience. There's a common frustration directed at the head pro, Mark Sutherland, and after my visit, I completely understand why. His attitude, along with that of his team, sets the tone for an unpleasant and condescending experience. I'm honestly surprised he's still employed there given how many complaints there are about him. With so many top-tier courses in Arizona that actually appreciate their guests, I won't be returning to Quintero. If you're considering it, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Reservations quoted me $96 green fees, I asked if they discount for active military. She said "yes thank you for your service, I can get you a $53 green fee." Awesome. I show up in the pro shop and the guy says "$96"... I said "I was quoted $53 for active military." He said "who did you talk to?" I said "whomever answered the phone number listed on your website, some lady." He said "well you have to coordinate discounts through the pro shop." I said "we're standing in the pro shop..." He said "well you're paying the Troon card rate, cheapest of anyone else on the tee sheet today." I said "All due respect but this is irrelevant to what I was quoted, can you honor the $53 rate I was told over the phone?" He said "no". Fine, figured I was 6 hours from home, almost certainly never coming back, and it's only $43 difference... but the principle irked me. Felt like bait and switch, and ridiculous reasoning by the employee. The scenery is beautiful, course condition was worse than I expected being a 2021 golf digest top 100 course. The whole discount fiasco soured my round though. I don't expect or feel entitled to discounts, just really perturbed when I get lied to about receiving one... and this course lied to me. read more

This course is incredible. Every hole on this course is special and probably 10 or more of the holes would be signature holes on most other public golf courses. The course is manicured perfectly. The practice area is excellent and has everything you want in a practice area (grass driving range, great chipping and putting area). The course is beautiful and the layout is really fun and well thought out. Water and ice machine every 4 holes is a nice touch. It is a challenging course but in a true golf way not gimicky at all and will test all aspects of your game. The club house and food facilities do not match the quality of the course but they should be upgraded in time. I highly recommend playing Quintero. This is a $300 course all day long. Anything less than that is a bargain. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. All around great experience. read more

Having golfed at several gold courses in Arizona, this has to be my favorite. A person who was teed up with my group suggested that though this course is far, it's a must see. There was a great deal on golf now, that totaled the visit to around $50. It is a true desert course, there was nothing else around! They transitioned this course from private to public to get more folks visiting. The staff was extremely friendly and the starter was great to give us tips. All the holes were beautiful and well maintained. Picturesque where ever you are! You can find so many nice golf balls laying around this course as well. My one con - ride alongs are ~$40 which is insane for a person to be sitting in the cart only! read more

It is far out of the valley, but well worth the drive if you are a true golfer. We really enjoyed the course! It has great elevation challenges. It makes you think about your shots. Takes about 5 mins to drive in the golf cart to first tee. The fairways have dense Bermuda grass and is shaved tight so it changes the iron play on approach and pitch shots. Currently, the greens don't hold anything. So plan a "bump and run game" at the green. read more

I was a bit leery after reading the negative reviews. However, our experience was stellar! The greens were beautiful (in scorching August), and the course was the right amount of challenge, with gorgeous views, plenty of water/bathroom stops, cart stations, and delivery on the course. Reservations were easily made by phone, and paid in person. Everyone was very friendly, from the cart guys to the pro shop, the marshall, the golf pro, and the cart girls. They brought cold towels halfway through the 18 holes, a welcome relief in the heat. We really appreciated that anyone with a license could drive a cart (important with our older teens under 18). Bring plenty of water with you, a cooling towel, and some Tylenol when playing in AZ heat! Quintero was amazing, and we will be back! read more

I had heard a lot of nice things about this course and made it out there last friday. It is a little out of the ways but I think well worth it. The service was good. I was impressed with the restaurant. The nachos were amazing. But on to the course. Practice area was nice. I liked that the putting and chipping area was all close together. The course was in perfect condition. Fairways and rough were lush. Greens ran really smooth and fast. The view as amazing. I liked the elevated tee boxes for the par 3s. The course was fairly difficult. We played the combo tees. I think it is one of the nicest courses that I have played in AZ (including: TPC Champions, Troon North, Grayhawk, and Eagle Mountain). The price was hefty but I think well worth it. read more

The course Marshall as well as well as the GPS system with pace of play is annoying. My group all shoot under 10 handicaps and the system they have in place to alert you of your position and the group behind you is annoying. We finished our round well ahead of the group behind us. The cost of food and drink is prohibitive. The best thing about Quintero, is leaving. Sent in our experience to the course, never heard back from them. Therefore, the course will never hear back from us or our friends. We will stick to Grayhawk, TPC Stadium, and Troon North. read more

I was so excited to play this course after hearing people rave about it. So unfortunately disappointing. THERE IS LITERALLY NO SAND IN THE BUNKERS, the staff knows it and says "those bunkers are a work in progress" hahaha was their response..... They're too lazy too put up the tee boxes that they advertise. Grounds crew will literally run you over you if you're in their way. If you drive this far to play golf, go play Wickenberg Ranch, top notch experience! Quintero is run by lazy clowns. read more

On May 16th, 2024 some friends and I went golfing at Quintero Golf Course. Around the 9th hole, the cart associate came by and I bought four drinks from her at a total of $32.00 and then she proceeded to drive off with our drinks after charging me. I reported this to the course and they did nothing. They didn't even send someone out to check on the situation. When we finished the round, I went inside to talk to the clubhouse about it and they stated "We don't believe you". I went out and got all 3 of my members of my party all to confirm that she drove off with the drinks. The course still refused to refund my $32.00. Yes it's only $32.00, but this is THEFT. They stole from me. I paid for service I never got and I paid for drinks I never got. They stole money from me period. Thieves. read more

Played for the first time here and just loved it. Spectacular views and different elevations. Great layout and you don't see other golfers in other fairways. You feel secluded and really out away from the city and traffic noise. Each hole is challenging in its own way, hitting to an elevated green or down to a beautiful par 3, and yes you better practice putting because the greens are the fastest I have played thus far in Arizona. The only negative comment is they need to make sure their ice dispenser stations are full because the water coming out is warm and believe or not it's BLAZING HOT ! It is quite the trek to get out to Peoria but I will definitely do it again! read more

Outstanding course, about an hour from North Scottsdale. It's a top 5 AZ course and worth the drive. Will cost you $300+ in the winter unless you have the Troon card. It's a little gimmicky, some super elevated par 3's. That all said the course never disappoints except the service can be icy. Depends on who you get, but the at times have an attitude. One thing to note is you have about a 10-15 minute card ride from the very weak pro shop (basically a modified trailer) to the tee box practice area. I'd give it 5 stars but can't because of service and amenities. read more

We played this course a couple weeks ago. I've played 1,000's of courses to date all over the world and never had a complaint worth sharing. I sent an email/message to course sharing my concerns a couple days after we played, it's been almost a week and no reply. It took right at 6 hours for a near scratch group of 3 that should have taken 3-4 hours. We were told by starter it would take just over 4 hour max. We basically just sat at tee boxes all day waiting for the backlog of groups to move. Such a beautiful course to be so badly managed. Brutal experience, with so many courses as good or better I would surely go elsewhere. This course is also an hour outside of Phoenix, even further from Scottsdale. Clubhouse and food shack are in tents and much below standard for pricepoint. read more

A Shockingly Bad Experience As is noted in other recent reviews, the pace of play is horrific, try six hours this past Saturday. That is bad enough, but having a Head Pro, Mark Sutherland who resorted to threatening to call the police on us if we did not leave the course immediately. The sad story continues below. Teed off at 9:00, waiting extensively on every shot, 1 hour to play the first three holes. Called the pro shop, had Rangers on the course, apparently unable to do anything about it. After a 3 hour front nine, we decided to try and figure something out on our own. Figured due to the 110F heat, the tee sheet would start to lighten up by noon. Found the Starter on the first tee, and asked permission to go off on the first tee. "Yeah, course is bad, there has been a gap, just a twosome off in the past 20 minutes, go right off the first tee". Ran into the morning traffic by the eighth hole. Guess who is waiting on the tenth fairway, a young Ranger. Told us we played 18 holes, and we must leave the course. We explained our discussion with the Starter, told him we planned on playing more than 18 holes that day and would gladly pay whatever was needed. We knew they track golf carts, so not like it was a mystery what we were doing. He stated the pro will not let us continue, and we MUST leave the course. Well if Mark Sutherland wants us to leave the course, he will need to tell us himself, after he hears our side of the story. Mark roles out, implies we were trying to "take advantage of the situation by getting in more holes". He then tells us part of the reason for the back up is our group, as we were not on the tee sheet. All ridiculous comments to make. As Mark realized we intended to continue, he said he would call the police to have us removed. So we left. With Mark Sutherlands attitude to us, no wonder the course is screwed up, and has no idea how to manage the pace of play. What a shockingly bad experience, far worst of my 40 years in golf, will never return. read more

This is possibly the best public golf course in Arizona. The course is very well maintained and the layout is sweet. Greens were 11.5 on the stimp meter. The driving range includes a nice short game area with a sand bunker which is wonderful. I played here in early April and paid around $120. That's quite lower than normal peak season rates of over $200. The staff is very helpful and I'll be back no doubt. read more

Best public access golf course in Scottsdale area. Great condition, scenic, challenging. Staff helpful and welcoming. Expensive but fair given the high quality and attention to the golf experience. Tip- Do not try to find ball in desert. Play it as lateral hazard. Will cut your score by 10 shots. read more

Course is in great shape but does not supersede the fact that the pro shop charged me for a 4th player that did not show due to COVID. They said I needed to give 48 hours notice which was not possible due to someone testing positive unexpectedly. They showed no remorse and did not try to work with me. This course is not cheap so to pay for a round that I didn't use or won't use in the future was not cool on the courses behalf. This is the first time a golf course actually charged for a no show and I've been golfing 30 years. This is my memory of this course and I won't ever give them my business or recommend them to anyone else. read more

First time I've ever posted a Yelp review. Course is beautiful and bag guys and check in were great. The ranger at this course yesterday has to be the most aggressive and unnecessary person I've ever encountered on a golf course. Was hounding us the entire round despite us being a full hole and a half in front of the group behind us. At one point he even came up while we were putting on a par 3 and said we needed to hurry because we were "5 minutes behind pace of group ahead" so he moved our carts up about 15 yards. I golf about 50 times a year and have never seen a ranger that unreasonable. read more

Go play troon north instead, it's better. Greens were in great shape but so many ball divots, no management done. Also 1 cart girl... we had a 1pm tee time and saw her once... she said last round at 330... Don't waste the time or money, also pro shop sucks. read more
