There were no carts available and a group of about 15 people clustered by the building. All the people who work there seemed very confused. There was no Marshall directing the flow or order of cart assignment. I started asking everyone their golf time and that is how we gained clarity on who got the next cart. Finally, a couple carts started trickling in and only one person was cleaning the carts and there was a pause on that. They gave the cart to the nearest person to them so we then started going into the golf shop to ask for a key. None of it made sense. By this point it's 15 minutes past my tee off time (10:48). We finally get a cart and tee off and the course is very poorly maintained with small ravines veining across all the fairways. I'm surprised someone built a course on this bad land. The cart paths are junky, they have small black poles everywhere right at shin height and I now have a scratch on my leg. The course layout was whack and the driving range was also subpar. I feel like this course should refund my money and reimburse me the gas money for the 30 minutes it took to get there.

I visited Arizona with a few friends during the summer as registered guests of Suncity Grand…read morecommunity association management. We played over 9 courses while I was here and it was some of the best golf I have played in years, that is until I played here. We made arrangements over 8 months in advance, and booked the round at the maximum 2 weeks beforehand, to ensure our journey from Toronto had no issues. The pro shop had no record of our registered guest status, and called the management office who also had no record of us. We had to convince the lady we had followed all protocols necessary to play these courses, but insisted we had to play public rates, from 28 to over 60USD. After a bit of arguing, they finally agreed to allow us to play their course at rate we negotiated, saying "they will take the heat this time". This left a sour taste but I understand this was probably a simple miscommunication in their organization. Throughout the entire round, I have never seen a Marshall be a personal escort. He barely left our side, and often rode his cart in our general direction while we were teeing off, which was very distracting both visually and audibly. We were behind an elderly group, one member whom rode an accessibility golf cart equipped with oxygen mask, so we tried to keep our distance from them. We had to wait on every single shot, but the pace was decent, so we didnt mind. We were by far the fastest group on the course. One particular hole, 380 yards, we waited until they were approaching the green. Marshall insisted we should be on the tee ready and hit, while they were well within our driving distance at the 150 yard stake. I drove the ball to 80 yards from the green. I don't appreciate marshals telling me when I should hit, insinuating we are slowing the pace down. I just don't get why he wouldn't leave us alone. Overall, the course was in good condition and the layout was good. The golf itself was fine, but the staff made me feel uneasy from the get go. Future trips back to Pheonix certainly won't include this course, given the other amazing options at equal or better value.

First, I know absolutely nothing about golf, zilch. When I arrived to pick up I had a question. The middle aged, dark haired gentleman (loose term here) working the order/repair desk was extremely rude. Not matter of fact, rude. Big attitude. He made me feel like an idiot. Never again will we buy from this store based on this one encounter. We'll go across the street to Golf Galaxy.

There were lots of rabbits and quail along the course. I was looking for rattlesnakes or other animals, but did not see any today. The golf club itself is very nice. It is connected to the restaurant. The selection of clothing and golf related items was broad. The guys running the club are very nice. They helped me get my day going, and even allowed me an earlier tee time despite my prepaid reservation time, since it was not busy. The golf carts themselves are very basic. There was no cover for rain, which sounds like it would be fine, except this day had an unexpected rain and hail storm ahead of me! I rented clubs, which was about $60. They were the taylormade Kalea clubs. Clubs were in nice condition. I also received two sleeves of balls, and tees were provided inside the cart. I made it through five holes before the rain and hail started. I took shelter in the bathroom for quite some time. The bathroom was very clean. Once the rain and hail abated, I drove in the cart through the rain back to the clubhouse. If it were not for the lightning and thunder, I would have continued playing. I was having such a great game! I didn't think the guys in the clubhouse would give me anything back for the inclement weather. However, they gave me quite the refund! They mention something about not being able to return my club fees completely. Which is totally understandable. The fees for the greens are $109. I believe the club rental was $60. In the end, I got somewhere around $140 back. I would totally play there again! I thought they would give me a rain check. I am glad they didn't, since I was visiting from out of town. All in all, a beautiful course. I wish I could've finished my game. I took a lot of pictures of the flora and fauna. Please see attached pictures. They have another course, called the Palmer course. I did not have a chance to check that out. I also did not check out the restaurant, but the menu looks amazing. Highly recommend a visit to this golf course if you're in the area. I started taking lessons with Mark a few years ago when I was a 30 handicap and fairly new to…read moregolfing. Within a year, my handicap had dropped 10 points with consistent lessons from Mark. I was glad to see he opened his own business and has a nice indoor studio. I had played baseball my whole life and had to transition from a baseball swing to a golf swing. At first we concentrated on short game and putting as that is where most strokes are lost on the golf course. Mark played several sports so different sports analogies that he gave during the lessons were useful to connect with me and help me understand where I needed help with my swing. He uses up to date technology to record your swings and give you detailed feedback. Your lessons are uploaded to the V1 app and you are able to refer back to them at any time and even interact with him on there when needed. Mark uses several different training aids to help your swing depending on what you are working on and where the help is needed. Those were very helpful. He also does outdoor lessons and playing lessons. The bunker lessons he gave me was a game changer. I now have the confidence of getting out of any bunker and sometimes intentionally aim for a bunker if I am in trouble off the fairway. I don't dread them anymore. The next thing I struggled with was distance off the tee. He got me fitted with clubs that worked best for me and we worked on lag for several lessons to give me more club head speed. I averaged 180-200 yard drives at first. Now I am consistently hitting 230-260 yard drives, which is helpful having shorter irons in your hand for the approach shot. Fast forward 2 years later after consistently taking 4 lessons a month with him, I am happy to report I am a single handicap golfer. If you stick with him and take consistent lessons, you will not regret it. Mark is one of the most patient instructors I have ever had, especially with me barely being able to hit the ball when I first started with him. I have seen him interact with other students on the range before my lessons and can tell you he goes out of his way to connect with each one of his students in a way that they better their game. I can't thank him enough for what he has done for my golf game.
