I first posted about how bad this cava is but i came in on a monday and it was pretty good.

The food was sub-par and this restaurant had no diabetic friendly options for drinks. All the drinks were sugar based except water from a fountain not even a bottle of water. I can't. I will not be back to this place unless they add more diabetic friendly options for drinks. I am not a bottle water fan but would gave drank it with my meal. I refused to drink water from a fountain like I am in a high school cafeteria. read more

After visiting a location in NJ three months ago and seeing the line, I now understand the hype. During my visit to this location, there wasn't a huge line. I let the server behind counter know that it's my first time trying Cava and she explained the different bases and toppings. She was so nice. There aren't many vegetarian protein options besides lentils, falafel and a cauliflower medley. I chose lentils and falafel on my rice bowl. The bowl was delicious although the falafel could use a tad bit of salt. It was great seeing their fresh juice selections. The blueberry lavender drink is not very sweet and the flavor is earthy, fruity and aromatic just how I like it! The prices are very reasonable for entrees. read more

CAVA is newly opened at the Cross County Mall. They held a community event last week, through Eventbrite. You would have had to claim one ticket per diner ahead of the event. They had two serving times for lunch and dinner. We opted for dinner, which was between 5-8P. Parking was fine because there are huge lots nearby. I arrived ahead of my family but went inside since the line looked deceptively long. When I got to the door, one of the staff asked if I had my ticket. I said I did but I had to get it out of my phone. It was raining heavy and I was juggling my phone and my umbrella. The manager was very pushy and off-putting. He rushed up to me after the other employee asked for my ticket. I'm assuming they had a lot of people try to enter that did not have tickets. He was very excited and said he could get the ticket with my name. He was blocking the entrance. I gave him my name and asked to move inside so that I could get settled, as it was raining and I was getting very wet. He finally moved back and gave me space and before he could do whatever he was trying to do, I brought up my ticket and let him scan it. I mentioned that I was waiting for my family and we had 4 tickets altogether. He said I couldn't block the doorway. Not sure why. I asked if it was OK to sit at a table. He repeated that we can't block the doorway. I asked again if I could sit at a table and he finally said that was fine. He was giving extremely nervous energy and had a bit of a power trip, which I observed with how he handled other guests that arrived. My family arrived and parked right out front. I approached him and said they were coming in, and pointed out my two kids and husband. I told him again that I had the tickets but he ignored me, opened the door and asked them for tickets. I repeated myself and he scanned my phone. We walked to the line and for some reason, he stopped my husband and asked him for his ticket (I'm assuming because he doesn't look like us). I again said that he scanned the tickets (4 in total). He was weird. I don't like his energy and he should definitely curb it in this location. People in this area will not be willing to put up with that kind of treatment on a daily basis. It's funny because he was touting to so many people that they needed tickets, but one couple tried to enter, didn't have any tickets, and the he let the guy pretend to show him a ticket on his phone yet did not scan it, so he was definitely showing favoritism to some diners. That happened right before my family entered. I was standing next to them when it happened. We ordered, the food was good, and the rest of the staff was very nice. This manager, however, treated different people very differently. We were eating our meals right in front of the entrance so we saw his interaction with everyone that arrived. I think they could have saved a lot of confusion by having a sign outside of the entrance, explaining that it was a private event and that tickets were required. That would have prevented people form trying to enter. They had takeaway bags ready to give people that did not have tickets, and he picked and chose who to give those bags to, was very standoffish with some people, and a little nasty to others. He was ridiculing one woman who did not understand that it was a private event, who asked questions. He was not trying to be helpful. Instead, he held his hand up to his ear when she said that he wasn't listened to her. It was quite unnecessary. Another woman stopped by without tickets, and he gave her two bags of food and a cup for a beverage even though she was by herself. He seemed like he was on something. He was extremely high energy. He picked up the A-frame sign they had and placed it outside only to turn around and bring it back in. He was rushing people to ask for tickets. It was a lot. I liked the food but if that guy is there on a regular basis, I probably won't visit. I'd have to drive to get here and it's honestly not worth it to deal wtih someone like him. Despite it being a free event, they asked for donations to help with food insecurity which puts a damper on the way this particular manager was treating people that did not have tickets. read more

CAVA continues to be my fast-casual go-to spot for the past decade after my first experience in DC. I was so delighted to see it open up in the city a few years after and have not gone back to a Chipotle, Dig Inn, or Sweet Green ever since. The ingredients are so incredibly fresh and the variety really has me coming back every time. I'm happy to spend a little bit more for the better flavour and quality of offerings. My friend had never had it, so I was excited to accompany him to this location which had been open for a few months. Even at 3PM on a random Saturday, the place was *busy* { as were most eateries, for some odd reason }. We waited in a long queue and there was a confluence of bad situations -- a staff switch out, the person in front of us ordering for another person on the phone, them running out of falafel and trying to make it right for the customer in front of us, and something wrong with the register...it was a whole mess that the 12 employees who were all young (early 20s) were unable to handle... I think they'll eventually get it together, operationally, but right now, it's suffering a lot of growing pains. We eventually decided to take it home to eat because the environment was just too chaotic, but thank god the food was still as good as it is in DC and New York. We'll come back in the near future and see if this CAVA location can get that extra star. Otherwise, come when it's not a big wait. read more

Been waiting for this place to open ever since I heard they were coming to Cross County. I came in last Sunday opening weekend and came early to beat the crowd. Place was nice a clean upon entry and no line. We both wanted steak so we chose to wait for a fresh batch since we both creating our own bowls. It was the first time my partner was trying Cava eating healthy is so important now a days. Staff were very respectable and I really enjoyed my bowl. read more

This CAVA opened up about a month ago or so at the Cross County Mall, and I was lucky enough to be a part of an exclusive community event for its grand opening. We arrived and parked right outside to meet up with a family member who already had our tickets. As we entered, a man who appeared to be security opened the door and asked for our tickets, to which our family member responded and had their phone scanned for them. Despite this, he stopped one of us and asked him for his ticket, even though said ticket was--of course--already scanned; this behavior was made even more odd by what appeared to be "selective security." He told potential entrants that they needed their tickets, but there was one couple in particular that tried to enter without them that he let pretend to show him a ticket--without scanning. Indeed, very odd, selective behavior--hopefully not a regular occurrence. Other than this experience, the food was great, and the staff otherwise very helpful. CAVA usually has a fantastic set of options to choose from for bowls and wraps, with great flavor, texture and relatively healthy caloric content for a fast casual restaurant. While that initial experience somewhat put a damper on things, I'd say it's definitely a good place to frequent if you need/want something quick that also tastes great and doesn't kill your macros, so long as staff interaction with patrons match it. read more

I had a disappointing experience at CAVA. The portions were much smaller than expected, and I felt like I wasn't getting the amount of food that I paid for. On top of that, the man who checked me out seemed rude and kept rolling his eyes while helping me, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Good customer service and fair portions are important, and unfortunately this visit did not meet those expectations. read more

Horrible service! Skimpy food for a high price! Just left this Cava and no professionalism and no real direction. They're always well behind with their online orders and don't tell you if they sell out of something. I ordered the pita chips as a side dish. After they gave me my order 25 minutes past the pickup time, the server handed me the bag without the pita chips. When I asked about the missing pita chips the server said they didn't have any. When I asked for my money back, she said they can't do that for online orders. The servers were very nonchalant about the delay, missing food, and refund policy. The worst Cava I have ever visited. Will not be back at this or any other Cava. I'm done with this chain! read more

This is absolutely the worst cava location in the country. They always forget ingredients and always forget your sauces. So lazy and careless. If you ever decide too order on uber eats or doordash just be ready too not have your order that way you want it. Dont bother ordering or even going here!! read more

It was my first time there. The mint cumber drink was AMAZING! However, when I got home to eat. I took a bite food and felt something in my mouth, and it was a long (about 12 inches) straight black hair in my mouth. Needless to say, I was sick to my stomach. I will never go there again. read more

I bought a kids meal around 7:00 pm. I love the Bronx and my food arrived cold. also the drink was missing. so was the crumble feta and my garlic dressing. the pita bread was so hard I thought it was chips. read more

My first time there and it was delicious. Literally I will now go at least twice a week. My my only complaint is why they use a teaspoon to put the ingredients in the bowl. I had to ask for extra everything. I can't wait to go back. lol read more
