Food was amazing, but the menu was super small and hard to read. I was like high up above where we were standing and the tables were dirty. Everything else was good though! I got a grain bowl and the feta hummus,faefel, rice, and white dressing was the best part. Warning the honey chicken is good but very spice so beware. Stopped at the VA Beach location yesterday on 11/6. It wasn't busy at all, upon walking up to the counter I wasn't greeted a single time! Even after waiting a few minutes, not one acknowledgement. I got looked at several times by several employees either consolidating toppings or just doing nothing. The first associate was rude and obviously uninterested, after getting rice in my bowl I had to wait several minutes for another associate to walk up to finish the rest. I'm sorry but your staff sucks. All I saw were a bunch of teenagers, that looked like that would rather be anywhere else but there. And the portions are now incredibly small. Please do better with training your staff on what customer service is, how and when to greet or just hire someone else and please stop charging high prices when your portions are measured with a mini ice cream scoop. I'm hoping the Chesapeake location is better. read more

A friend had raved about this place, so I decided to take the plunge and go with. Over all the staff was helpful and friendly, however what I ended up getting in my bowl was not what I asked for. All in all ended up being a decent meal, was just disappointed in what seemed to be a communication issue. I love cava! Whether I'm home in VB or in D.C. . However, during my lunch this week my dad unfortunately found a hair in his food. I understand things happen but the managements reaction was poor. The lady he spoke with told him there was nothing she could do to and asked if she wanted him to throw it away. After hearing this I persuaded him to go back in and ask what more they could do as this is a serious health and safety issue. The employee gave him a free meal card and said nothing else could be done, he'd have to call corporate. I just wish she would've handled it this way from the beginning, thrown out the whole rice batch (the hair was in the rice), and credited his card back. I usually love the food and customer service, but I was at the Virginia Beach Blvd. location by town center today, 27 September at 3 PM and had a really horrible experience regarding customer service. The food was amazing, as usual, but the woman behind the counter immediately asked what we wanted to eat like it was a chore. She threw my mother's bowl down and threw the ingredients into the bowl with an attitude. When we got to the register my mom asked if a manager was available and the young boy (who was very kind) looked to his left and said yes. There was a female employee leaning against the wall. My mother said never mind, but I insisted with my mother trying to get her to talk to the manager. The entire time the manager stood there never once coming over to ask if anything was wrong or if there was something she could do to help. It's just a shame to feel like you're inconveniencing somebody by coming into the establishment to get food. Bad attitudes should be left at the door please. I like this place! It's fresh. This was my first visit. A friend urged me to get the bowl. I defied and got the pita. It was sooooooo good but soooooo spicy lol the spicy was a mistake. The harissa dip is SPICY OK?! You get three dips to be spread on your wrap. I chose 1 scoop of harissa and 2 scoops of hummus. The braised lamb is amazing, omg. I may get extra meat next time. Although what I got was spilling out of my pita. A larger pita would be nice but it's fine. I do wish it came with a side like chips or something. The service was cool. You feel a bit rushed like when chipotle first got to the scene. I simply reminded them politely "this is my first time " Overall, Cava is great and I will definitely be back. I checked to see the name and the sticker attached to the top even states all the items that we're supposedly in my bowl. However, when I got home to open my order they forgot all of my spreads. I didn't really understand why since I was there before my pickup order was even ready and went straight home to eat. The grain bowl I got was so inedible I could barely finish half. First time using the app they gave me the spicy chicken vs regular for a family meal. Could not give to my 3 and 1 year old children. This last time and will be the last time. Love this place. I'm a big fan of Zoê so I thought I would give Cava a shot. Wasn't sure what to expect with everything being thrown into a bowl but it was delicious. I got the basmati rice grain bowl with grilled chicken, red pepper hummus, crazy feta, onions and tomato, Romaine and couscous. I poured their Greek dressing over top and I was in heaven! They smiled and seemed to work well together. The manager at this time, Nov 2020 is doing a wonderful job and it shows. I felt with the amount of veggies and meats you can choose from, the value was great. Its healthy and customizable, plus comes with a soft and fresh pita on the side. There was numerous low to no sugar drinks, water and some soda selections. The utensils and straws are earth friendly and bowls are served in a recyclable dish it seems. I honestly jumped between 4 and 5 stars here. It's hard to find a fault here and the only thing I would have liked is if they had mentioned the rewards program to me and how I could add the purchase from today to it.
