I am so glad CAVA has finally arrived in Broward! I have been tracking this opening for literally months so I was so glad I could make the grand opening! The line was hugeeeeeee! I waited 55minutes in total from waiting until checkout! I want to caveat that I expected it to be bad on opening, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt but if it's like that again I will definitely lower the rating based on the long wait times. For the food it was excellent! I ordered a chicken bowl, with basmati rice and super greens. It comes with a complimentary pita on the side, three dips which I did two hummus dips and one tzatziki sauce. The. For toppings I did feta, tomatoes, pickles, pita crisps, pickled onions, and cucumbers. The bowl was large filling and delicious! I also ordered a side of crisp pita chips which are crunchy and flavorful. And I got a great dipping sauce with the bowl to use them with. I definitely cannot wait to go back numerous times in the future. Food is great (reason it's 3 stars). Service is terrible. Expect most of the employees to be rude to you and lack BASIC manners. Building my bowl took about 15 minutes which is so much longer than places like Fresh Kitchen or Chipotle who have similar ordering styles and I'm usually done ordering in 5 minutes. I'm usually in and out of Fresh Kitchen or Chipotle in 5-10 minutes not sure why this place can't get it right honestly. Y'all should learn something from your competitors cus the wait time situation is going to catch up to the business. It's honestly ridiculous that I just spent 40 minutes in there. I've been to chipotle and fresh kitchen where the line was at the door and I spent max 15-20 minutes in there because they have a SYSTEM. As someone who used to work in this style of restaurant they have no organization here. Fire the manager and have a better team leader. Today was my fourth visit to Cava, so I think I finally have enough experience to share an honest review. I really love the concept -- the customizable Mediterranean bowls are a great idea -- but the execution definitely needs work. This location is still fairly new, yet it already feels a bit neglected. Every time I visit, the trash bins are overflowing, and the line moves painfully slow. Portion sizes are inconsistent from one visit to the next, and the employees always look unhappy or overwhelmed. Tonight, the greens looked brown and soggy, so I opted for rice instead, which was fine. I had the steak, but it was chewy and tough. The toppings were decent, but everything just looked messy and unkempt. I understand they're busy, but cleanliness really needs to be a bigger priority. We also ordered pita chips tonight, and for the first time, they were so heavily seasoned with salt and pepper that they were inedible. The POTENTIAL is amazing and I'm sure that when this place first opened, it was hitting all the marks. This is my very first time going to a CAVA since I don't have one near me. Just happened to be in the area and came across the place on my route back home. I've heard about it and I finally get to ease my curiosity. When I walked in there were quite a few people in line which I thought was a good sign. As I stood to the side to review the menu, there was a female employee in the main dining area shouting to another employee that was in the back cooking area..."BRUH!! BRUH!!" I suppose she was yelling to get his attention but he was busy so she kept shouting. I entered the line finally and a young woman promptly came up to prepare my order. She may have been new because she was using a little cheat card to make my Falafel Bowl. I was asking questions about a few items and she wasn't sure about the answer so she turned to a tall man in the cooking area and asked. He looked angrily at her and snapped, "READ THE CARD ON THE GLASS!" And then went right back to what he was doing. She didn't miss a beat though. She was sweet, polite and did her best to help me. She was new staff and I was a new customer and we got through it, both learning a bit in the process. No complaints there! I wish I'd gotten her name because she was the ONLY shining light in the entire place. After paying I went to my car to eat. First thing I noticed on first bite was there was something very hard in my bowl and there was a lot of it. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was the basmati rice. The grains were hard as a rock. Now that either happens when rice sits too long OR when it's nearly raw. I believe it had been there too long. So that rock hard rice set the tone for the rest of the meal because how can I avoid the rice? Also, the greens were no longer green. My lettuce appeared brown around the edges and didn't look appealing at all. Must say, my experience at CAVA was not great. It wasn't even good!!!! The less than fresh food, the unhappy and loud staff and the fact that I arrived on a Saturday at 2:45pm and most of the serving dishes were empty, left a bad impression. Line servers were scraping the containers dry, preparing bowls and no one was turning to say cooking staff "I need hummus...I need harissa!" It honestly looked like the line staff was afraid to communicate with the cooks but I'm speculating based off the way the tall guy barked at the young lady for asking him a question. I don't know if it was just a bad day for them but no thanks! I truly had higher hopes for this place after all the social media videos I'd seen but I was not impressed! read more

Each experience was either with young and unfriendly team members or Cava running out of ingredients in the middle of the day with no urgency to restock or bring out a new batch of food. Today at 4:30pm this location was all out of broccoli with none in the fridge to replace it. Well today my bowl turned out not so tasty bc the grilled chicken tasted burnt & there was no broccoli left. I asked if they could check for more in the fridge or let me know when the next batch would be up. Not only was the black older woman (middle age black woman with twist and glasses) who served me on toppings, angry that she had to step 7 feet to her right to check the fridge? She then passive aggressively slid my bowl to another staff (young Hispanic female twin with braces & honey blonde highlights ) who was helping someone else, to swap spots with her so she wouldn't have to service me any longer. Me simply asking her to do her job pissed her off. This isn't the first time I've experienced stuff at this particular location get upset by customers being indecisive or simply having questions while ordering their food. To be fair, the staff at this location can go through additional Training in customer service because only a handful of staff actually perform well in customer service area at this location. Previously another staff was upset because I wanted Pita Chips that would take 2 minutes to come up out of the fryer; if I'm willing to wait why is that a problem? Why are staff so angry to serve people!?? Is disgusting. This Cava needs to hire friendly new staff or take this staff through proper customer service training, as this location lacks that. Sadly the best workers were the young Hispanic female workers, and the friendly staff are usually the gay males who work here, in my experience. They are moving very slow and seem as though they are just ready to check out and go home (as I witnessed the employee at the register say). Wow! They didn't waste any time. They just opened and I live nearby, so I stopped in to take a look. The line was long and the place was packed! At 3 pm on a Saturday. Not the usual lunch time. I thought, what the heck! Are they giving away the food? No. It's very clean and new, with a gimmick, like an upscale salad bar... you pick, and they put a bowl together for you, cafeteria-style. The prices looked ok. About $15 which is the pricing at a food truck we saw last night. I'd rather eat here! I don't know if the food is good, but judging by the demand, it must be. The outside patio is nice, and very clean because it's so new. But of course you will be breathing in car exhausts from the parking lot, which was buzzing... hard to get a spot. Thankfully I can walk from my house. But not in this heat! I will return mid-week and see if the line is shorter! I had a horribly frustrating experience picking up a mobile order at the Plantation Pointe CAVA. My order took 27 minutes to be ready, even though I arrived at the pickup time. Around 9:30 PM (the time my food was scheduled to be ready), an employee named Tyler who was standing in line, told customers behind him the line was closed, causing some people to leave, but the line kept moving. Tyler even left the line to call out his own order and was served, then resumed telling customers the store was closed, even to those just picking up orders. When I finally got my food, I was given pita bread instead of the pita chips I paid for, and this was only mentioned after I asked. My bowl was missing two toppings and a dip with no warning, and what I did get was skimpy. My bowl was half empty. On top of that, I watched employees, some apparently still on the clock and some leaving, make themselves full, generously filled meals while my order was incomplete. Overall, it felt like the staff prioritized their own convenience over customers, and the lack of communication about missing or substituted items was really disappointing. Anyone giving this restaurant 1 star because of the service the first week they opened and had lines wrapped around outside should be disappointed in themselves. This is expected when eating at a brand new place; especially when we have waited so long for it to open. I have eaten here 2x so far with the mobile ordering to take home to eat. I don't understand how chipotle which is right next door can have the same line stretched to the door but takes only 10-15 mins to get your food.
