Have been coming to Cava for years. I get my bowls to go. Recently every time I come there is something wrong with one of the bowls. My husband found a tiny rock in his bowl?!!!! Almost cracked his tooth. I emailed and called customer service with a photo and they did nothing. Horrible customer service. After not eating there for months I decided to go back today. The lamb meat balls were burnt. So hard to chew. And the feta had mold on it!! Will never go back to Cava!! read more

A delicious, fresh and healthy, balanced meal for $10. Oh, YES! Cava is like a more flavorful, fresh-Med version of Chipotle. My favorite -- a giant bowl of greens and black lentils, topped with grilled veggies and falafel (ask for 1/2 and 1/2), hummus, tzatziki, feta, baba ghanoush, pickled onions, kalamata olives, and quinoa tabbouleh with lemon herb tahini dressing. Portion size is severely under portioned. Brought my own food scale and it was 3oz of chicken and i ordered double chicken. Absolutely disappointing. Staff was rude- when i asked for extra tomatoes they declined saying i would even pay extra if necessary. Even though it says unlimited topics for tomatoes and olives... regional manager spends most of his time there- he serves under portioned meals as well. Avoid this location. This is the first time in Cava. I thought I will try it. Not a bad experience at all. I loved top three things about Cava. The ambience is spacious with upbeat background modern style music. I ordered the chicken bowl with a mix of roasted vegs and a mix of seasonings and toppings, ie Middle Eastern Humus, cucumber yogurt and harrisaz. Not as generous but tasted great. Did not like much the tomato soup. A bit cold and slightly with a burned smell to it. Friendly staff. Will certainly go back again and enjoy their falafel and braised lamb. read more

I haven't been to many Cavas in the area, but this is by far the best one I have been to. I was surprised to be greeted by a huge bright open space. Not only is the ambiance nicer here, but the food also tastes ten times better here compared to the Mosaic location. I opted for my standard green/grain bowl (brown rice with arugula) with the meatballs. Since I was extra hungry that day, I opted for extra rice which apparently comes with an extra surcharge at this location. The ingredients in my bowl were fresher at this location. The meatballs and toppings were seasoned perfectly. Depending on some days, my Cava bowl from the Mosaic location can be very salty. I will definitely be back to satisfy my Cava craving at this location and am hoping that my first experience here will be consistent. I will end my review off by saying the service here is also better. Overall, I had a positive experience here and will be frequenting this location for Cava instead of the Mosaic location. read more

Ok- I'm done with this Cava location. It's convenient bc it's the closest one to me. On the last two visits the counters are alway dirty- is it too much to wipe down the counter? In addition, the trash can is overflowing with trash. The worst thing about this location is the management. The lines are always long bc they aren't organized... there are several employees standing around while one employee is busting their butt. They are so stingy with the portions- you have to beg for rice and proteins. Even when you tell them you'll pay extra they still withhold food. This time I ordered half/half - getting the chicken and roasted vegetables... the vegetables were burnt and overall the meal just tasted bland. Unnecessary wait time on 08/24/2020 @6pm Arrived first in line and waited for about 6 minutes while I watched several people at the counter wait for their large to-go orders. I don't understand why these people are allowed to make large orders without doing this ahead of time. Poor management IMO. My favorite salad place and I'm not big on veggies as my friends can tell you. Somehow, Cava is able to get enough flakes and savoriness into their salads to keep even this carnivore satisfied. Their falafels are good and I usually get these or the spicy lamb meatballs as my protein. Sometimes, I'll go for both... It's out of control. Either way, I know some folks don't believe in paying for salads but this is quick and easy not to mention delicious so why not? I also downloaded their app so I can collect credit towards their rewards. Btw for those curious, I order the super green with harissa (awesomely delicious and very spicy so beware), crazy feta, tzaziki or one of the hummus, lamb meatballs and/or falafels, picked onions, cabbage, quinoa, tomato and cucumber, and more feta. This restaurant has several things going for it, but I think I am so over the meals being served on cookie sheets, stark decorations and brown accents. Please don't come here and have understandable conversations. It is loud and tables are close together.l Now for the food. I think so many restaurants think by calling themselves "Mediterranean" it will cover a multitude of sins. It also gives them permission to just mix and match with no consistency in flavor, mix of sustainable ingredients and no regard of what is really good. The pita I had was made with braised beef (an extra two dollars) and it was so watered down there was no flavor what so ever. The sauce I got also lacked spice or zest. I've ordered from CAVA twice online. The first time I picked up the order and the second time my husband did. Tonight was my second order with Cava and the order was incorrect AGAIN! The first time they forgot to include the side dip of Hummus,n which at the time, was no big deal. However, when they forgot something the second time, they forgot the lentil soup. Moreover, the meatballs this time were really dry and the pita chips were stale :-( When we figured it out both times, we were too hungry and tired to go back and pick it up. Disappointing because the food the first time was much fresher. The meatballs were juicy and flavorful and the pita chips were warm. We do like their frequent diner program because other locations were really good, so maybe we'll give them one last try. So updating this review to 3 stars. My husband and I really like the bowls here and when we contacted them to complain about the food quality, they did give us an account credit. read more

Unfortunately everything seems to have gone downhill as the company has grown. It was pretty dirty at many tables, the floor is sticky, and the quality of the ingredients seems meh. I love Cava, but this location doesn't tend to be my favorite. The majority of the time, the servers are extremely conservative with greens. If I am eating a salad, I would prefer to have more than a few sprigs of greens. My order never varies, so I cannot speak to the other dishes. read more

I am so excited that they opened a Cava Mezze Grill in Alexandria. This area was in need of some their delicious food. This location is much larger than other locations in the area. There are plenty of places to sit and they could probably add more tables if the needed. The line moved a bit slower compared to other locations but I imagine it will pick up. On this visit, I went with one of my usual orders: white rice bowl with half falafel and half meat balls, roasted red pepper hummus, tzatziki, crazy feta, lettuce, tomato cucumber, cucumber, fresh mint, and yogurt dill dressing on the side. Yum! Just as good as other locations. The staff was friendly and I could tell they were doing their best to move the line along. Went here on Sunday May 19, 2019 around 9:30pm to grab a greens and grains bowl. When we walked in the gentlemen who was sweeping welcomed us to Cava. When we got in line to order the young lady standing next to the gentlemen prepping the meat let us know the young lady would be us once she finished with the customer ahead of us. All the associates were in great spirits considering it was almost closing time. I ordered the green and grains bowl with braised lamb, crazy feta, tzatziki, tomato&cucumber,pickled onions, pickled banana peppers, crumbled feta and green harissa on the side. The young lady preparing our food suggested the green harissa as dressing and I'm so glad she introduced us to a new dressing. The second bowl ordered had the same fixings except the meat choice. The meat choice selected for the second bowl was chicken which was low when we ordered but prior to making the bowl they replenish the chicken. This Cava location is very spacious and well lit. I always get the green and grains bowl. I prefer the super greens because you get a mixture of veggies and it has a nice crunch factor when eating. This time I got the super greens with brown rice. I added the tzatziki, eggplant and crazy feta. For the meat, I tried something different which was the braised lamb. The lamb was ok, kind of gamy. I topped it off with pickled onion, cauliflow quinoa, tomato onion mix, cabbage, pita crisps, feta, mint, lemon. I forgot to top it off with the yogurt dill sauce but everything tasted good besides the lamb. Next time I'll stick with chicken. read more

I was thrilled to learn a new Cava Grill opened up in Alexandria, as it's always been one of my favorite places to grab a healthy, fresh, and delicious quick meal. While the location itself doesn't particularly stand out, the quality of the food & drinks is top notch. First of all, you must try the freshly made juices/teas that are offered. They change with the seasons (just like the vegetables), so there will always be a year-round variety. My favorite is the watermelon mint juice in the summer. As for the food bowls, you can't really go wrong with anything. That being said, I tend to stick to the "super greens" salad bowl with as many spicy things mixed in as possible (crazy feta, harissa, sriracha greek yogurt, etc.). Top your juice & bowl off with a freshly made cookie, and you will be one happy customer! Another cool feature of Cava Grill is the ability to pay with the Cava app on your smartphone. Not only does it make the check-out feature much more quick & efficient, but it also awards you credits with every purchase that eventually add up to free food! I'm super surprised they chose to open a cava location here , not that I'm complaining. The space is a lot bigger than the one at mosaic or tysons. I'm not sure when this location opened but .. It's still working through some kinks. Staff dosnt seem fully trained on all the product they are serving. Also line moved super slow... But hey, new location.. Can't complain. Quality of the food? Ok, but I'm still a little convinced tysons has it down to a science for all of their food. I got my usual here , rice bowl with meatball, hummus with all the fixings . It was my first time there and the staff was friendly and helpful . The place is nice , new , clean and has a good amount of seats. The food was good , I chose the spinach salad with chicken hummus and some other toppings, and the salad comes with a pita on the side .They have a unique variety of drinks. I am thrilled to have a cava near me again. Out of all the fast casual Mediterranean in the area, cava crushes it, in my book. My go to: Salad (they have a fantastic variety of base greens, which places like chiptole should take note of) with Red pepper hummus, eggplant spread, crazy feta (aka spicy and amazing), cucumber, cabbage and spicy harrisa dressing. I usually get this with their falafel which is crispy on the outside and tender in the middle and therefore perfect. Hubby often gets rice bowls with chicken. Cava will set you back a little bit more than the avg fast casual - but it's totally worth it. All hearts for cava! read more

I got so excited when I saw this yesterday that I decided to go here instead of Chipotle. So if I was rating my actual experience with the food I had yesterday it would be 2 stars but alas, I love Cava and I'm praying that it was just a fluke yesterday. I had the grain bowl with brown rice...that was my first mistake...I should have learned that my attempt to be healthy is outweighed by the fact that brown rice seems to be difficult for people to make (I'm looking at you Chipotle). The brown rice was hard and almost inedible. Then I wanted to try something new so I got the spicy meatballs...spicy? more like salty :( I will try them again because I've had great experiences at other Cava Grills (and their restaurant version is one of my fav places to eat) so I'll go back to my braised lamb or try the falafel or chicken next time. This is by far, the worst Cava that ever existed. I'm consistently battling with their customer service via email about someone's stupid mishaps! I can't count the many times I've complained about this location, but like an idiot, I keep going back here (it's also close to my home). Please get your receipts because they will potentially charge you for harissa chicken. I don't care it's just a buck, but it's the principle and the lack of attentiveness from their employees. Advised the manager verbally many times, I believe his name is Jose. Stated he would call me back, and never did! Very unprofessional! Bravo C! So happy to see you all here in my neck of the woods. Excellent location with plenty of free parking in the Fox Chase shopping center. Came in on 3rd day of opening at 8pm on Thurs. and plenty of customers dining. Service and food is excellent as usual. Portions are the same as I'm used to -- plenty and filling. Everything is up and running including the specialty drinks and sodas, and the pay with your app scanner. The cashier told me they're working on a liquor license -woot! This place is very good. You will not regret coming here. They serve Mediterranean/Arab salads. The service is quick and friendly. You will not be waiting long for your meal. My salad had "super greens," arugula braised beef, jasmine rice, lentils, and lemon herb tahini dressing. I also had a soda and a brownie as I recall. The total was a little over $15. The food was excellent given the price. The décor is casual and modern at the same time. The exterior walls are brick with the interior walls being wood. The floor is terrazzo which is a nice touch you don't see very often. The booths and chairs were made of wood. There were several plants as I recall. Honestly, this place should just advertise that they close at 9:00pm. Tonight was the THIRD time I've come after 9:00pm and 1) half of the food is put away and 2) they're out of multiple menu items with no apology. The first time, I went at 9:30pm and they were out of chicken. I was told they were not making any more because they're closing soon. I was then offered half lamb meatballs and half chicken (the crispy remains of what was left in the bowl), and I was still upcharged for the lamb meatballs. So whatever, it was my first time there, so I figured it was a fluke. The second time I arrived at 9:00pm and they were out of pita chips and feta cheese. Okay... it was just the toppings, so I let it slide and decided to come back once more tonight at 9:20pm. They were out of tomatoes and onions and yogurt dill dressing. All of the greens were packed up and put away. I asked if they had any more, and the response was the same as before: "no, we're about to close." I should have just walked out and left the half full bowl on the counter. If you're open until 10:00pm, why is the entire kitchen packed up and closed at 9:00pm? If you're not going to offer the entire menu for the duration of the business hours, advertise it. Maybe a sign that says "limited menu options after ____". I have never heard of a food establishment that refuses to prepare menu items because "they're about to close"..... IN 30 MINUTES or more. read more

The food here is excellent. I highly recommend the braised lamb for your meat selection. My only issue is that the labels for each topping aren't clear. The toppings are listed but I'm never sure which label goes with which topping. Maybe it's just me and my husband, but it would help if the label was right in front of each topping. My boyfriend and I frequent the Fairfax location, which is great, but yesterday on our way to Oldtown Alexandra, we decided to try this Cava for lunch. This place is huge, it has a very large dining room, bright, with lots of windows, the food was great, it was fresh and delicious, but what we liked the most was the great service we received, the manager was also very polite he checked on our table and even offered to refill our drinks, we felt like VIP's.
