Nick and Lori, the owners, never rest on their laurels. They are always expanding and innovating in response to the changing and growing needs of their customers and the community. I went to Walmart to buy a pump (I realize that this makes me a dildo) and the pump snapped the screw off of the tube. I had a bit of a nervous breakdown and gave up for the day. Then I decided to google bike shops in the area and found this one. I went in and my bike was ready to go in a few minutes. Dude was super nice too. I'm definitely going back for any future bike issues.

For a tube rental that includes a life vest and transportation to the river, it is $16 per person. They use recycled tires that they blow up, add handles and a seat to. Using good shoes, such as river shoes or old tennis shoes are highly recommended! They have old shoes with sizes written on them that you can rent for $2. I think this should be free considering you are using someone elses old shoes! Tubing on the Esopus- is not relaxing! It is white water tubing! They are rocks you have to avoid and falls that knock almost everyone off of their tube. I would know, I fell when I hit the first huge rock and ended up with a black eye as my battle scar! It is much safer to tube with a group here or you will be all alone. They drop you off and you are on your own. This is my only problem with this place. Since they are not as popular as Town Tinker, you go on the river by yourself as opposed to a group. The day we went, it began thundering so I got scared and we exited the river to the LEFT. It stopped thundering as soon as we got out, and the sun came out. We walked down the road for quite awhile before we found a place to re-enter the river. I was not planning on walking all the way back to the tube rental place! We met up with a town tinker group so we felt safer and had quite some fun on the way down.

Why replace what you need with garbage when you can likely find a quality brand we know and trust at Camp Catskill. The selections of items in each particular outdoor category is small but the owner has arranged each section of the store to provide for the needs of almost any outdoor enthusiast that might stop in to replace equipment or get new stuff. The store is stocked with clothing, hiking gear, camping gear, outdoor accessories and even a small selection of boots. While the selection of boots is small if you find yourself on trail with an unexpected broken boot rest assured you don't have to go far to find a quality boot to get you back on trail especially if you are in the area for a few days camping. I stopped in and left with a shirt and fridge magnet. Not sure why in my old age I seem to be collecting fridge magnets but I find myself buying more of those in my travels.

If you can put up with cretin behaviour--hire him.
