Shane, the bike repairman, not only tuned it up but fixed a few things I didn't even realize had been impeding my bike's performance and i received a bike back that was running and riding better than when it was brand new. Billy, the owner, is extremely personable and helpful. Great communication. Went directly from the trailhead to Overlook Mountain Bikes. The store was buzzing with customers but I was quickly welcomed and taken care of. The guys at Overlook were promptly able to diagnose and fix my issues. I fully expected to have to leave the bike and come back a week or two later, but I was able to take my new bike for its inaugural ride only a few hours later than scheduled. Although this shop is an hour away from where I live, I will be back for any bike related needs.

(Back Story) So my review starts with a "Bad Dad" moment…read more Accidentally let my son's bike fall out of my open hatch on my car while backing up this morning and ran it over. Derailleur (yes, that's how it spelled, thank you Google) was completely twisted, cables crushed and slight bend to derailleur hanger. My son rides daily and how would I tell him when he came home from school that the bike was wrecked. (Start Review) I called Catskill Bicycle Supply shortly after they opened. Spoke with Lee on the phone and he said to bring the bike in and he would look at it. They were open on a Monday which doesn't happen a lot in rural New York which was nice. I brought the bike in and he took a quick look and told me a few things he saw and asked me to leave the bike and he would get back to me with an estimate. I left expecting to hear from him later in the week. Shortly after noon time, I had a text with a very reasonable and detailed estimate from them. I gave them the green light to make the repairs and again made an assumption that I would here from them by the end of the week at the earliest. Two hours later, Lee texted that my son's bike was ready for pick up, exactly four hours after being broken. They were able to squeeze in the repairs while waiting for parts on other repairs and explained that a two hour turnaround isn't the norm but they knew the kid would be sad without his bike. Can't thank them enough for the great service. Now the quandary, do I tell my son of what transpired since 8:30am today or just park the bike? Tips: Located on Main Street Catskill conveniently with street parking. While this was a service visit, their bike's for sale looked pretty amazing. Was in and out so quick, I never got any photos.

I wound up buying a pair of AWESOME Norco VLTs (SO mush fun!!!) which, to Norco's credit they will ONLY sell through dealers. RESIST the direct to consumer route-DON'T do it!!! Catskill Bicycle Supply provided fantastic, personal service, customized the suspension, bars, etc. and dialed our bikes in to the tee for us! And... it was a better deal than any of the direct to consumer options out there and with REAL (awesome) in person people to support the bikes!!! We were SO pleased we bought a 3rd e MTB, a (hardly) used Specialized that they also dialed in for my wife.

She took her time fitting us to the bike, explaining how they worked and the route and allowing us to test ride. The rental for two hours was $60 per person or half day (4 hours) for $70 per person. We enjoyed the quiet ride along Housatonic river. The roads the route was along had very little traffic. We saw many people walking. We also got to enjoy the covered bridge and the bridge on Water street as well as the waterfalls. It was just saw a lovely day. 10/10 recommend this rental location and the scenic route.

My wife gifted me this for my birthday, knowing this is something I been wanting for a while. This shop is a great shop. The owner is very welcoming and actually cares about providing you with what you want. In my case I wanted a bike fitting to better utilize my bike and eliminate random soreness and fatigue in weird spots of my body. The owner took his time methodically going through my measurements and fine tuning different angles to make sure I felt most comfortable in my bike. He wasn't rushing me and he went out of his way to answer any question I had. I really appreciate that. My first impression of this shop is wow, I wish I knew about it sooner as I would have started here for my cycling needs over other competitors in the area.
