I dropped off my bike on a weekday and was told I would get a call in about 23-48hrs. After 48hrs I called to check on the status and was told that my bike was currently being put together. I received a call a bit later about updating my handle bar tape. I appreciated the call, but wasn't given much information about the cost of the additional tape until I asked. EOD my bike was ready for pick up. Total was around $130, wayyyy more than I was quoted, not sure where the communication break down was but I was happy to see my bike rebuilt.

Brought our own helmets. Gave us some simple directions to the rail trail/Walkway over the hudson. Great day, no issues with the bikes. Tho wished there was water bottle holders, so carried those in our backpacks.

Richard was very helpful and with my bum knees I REALLY appreciated that he was there with a hand when I needed one getting back out of the kayak - spared me a more embarrassing moment. The idea of rock climbing was something I always had in the back of my mind, like it would be cool, but it never seemed accessible. We also appreciated how prompt he was, and that he was mindful of ways to ensure we hit numerous climbs, even if routes might've already been taken by others. My husband…read moreand I did a one hour trail ride around the property (I think it's around 20 acres) with Linda and Christy (Kristy?) who were both so friendly and helpful. I had gone horseback riding once over the summer, but I am definitely a newbie and Linda guided us on what to do (ex: lean back when going downhill and lean forward when going uphill). I love that we got to walk AND trot and cross streams. My horse Sarge was a former NYPD horse and he was very good and well behaved (although he was quick and ate some grass before I could stop him while on the trail). After we finished, Linda helped take some photos of us and we got to meet the other horses in the stable. I would absolutely recommend coming here!!!

The trail horses we rode out on we're mostly retired cow horses who were very well-broke and very responsive to riding aids--almost to a fault. Hehe. We rode in western tack and split reins. The trail is very wooded and its a lot of hills and there is a small stream to cross. Kelly was so pleasant, professional, and accommodating! I asked if we could go longer than an hour (as we were driving quite a way and wanted to make it worth our while) so she planned out out day with her. We went out for an hour, she sent us into town to grab some lunch, and then we rode back out a different way. They even jump-started my car battery when it wouldn't turn on. We didn't reserve any stand up paddle boards but we were greeted by a friendly college student who got us out on the water quickly. We boated under the bridge and saw a man made dam before heading over to the sand bar where our kids splashed around and played in the mud. We had kids as young as 6. If you're just paddling, I think 1 hour is enough but if you want to stop and play on the sandbar then 2 hours. Great time with a great business.

Like the adjoining Hudson Valley Rail, the Dutchess Rail Trail is a wide, paved, flat &…read morenearly-straight biking/walking/running path that extends 13 miles from the Walkway Over The Hudson (Poughkeepsie side), southeast to Hopewell Depot, just south of East Fishkill It is a part of the much more extensive Empire State Trail. I biked it in the pouring rain, so I am not a good judge of how enjoyable it may, or may not be. On the northern section, where I rode (8 of the 13 miles), it is not particularly charming or pretty, which is not what I had hoped for, but instead, there are car salvage & repair yards & small manufacturing businesses on either side. There are a good number of trailheads where parking is available along the route. If you are looking for a fairly easy & straight ride, fairly shaded (especially helpful when you are riding in a downpour), this Rail Trail is for you.
