I'm a bit shocked to see a few bad reviews about this business. I normally don't like writing reviews on Yelp but I shall make an exception this time to defend this business. I've known the owner and her coworker for over 16 years and have been consistently great throughout. Not only the service but honest and quality work they do. My daughter and I just got our nails done today and we're super happy with the results. They took us in without any appointments because they had time to do so. They took their time and made sure we are happy with the work. The prices are quite reasonable as compared to many others (and trust me, I recently paid so much for bad pedicure and manicure jobs). So don't trust those terrible reviews and give them. English isn't theirs native language so be patient and kind to them. They are incredibly awesome ladies. I always come back to them. read more

So sad. I previously left a 4 star rating for them. This rating has nothing to do with Tina's pedicure, but Nancy's lack of customer service. I had a 10 am appt. with Nancy for a fill the day before Thanksgiving. I also got a pedicure with Tina. I waited for this appt. for almost 2 weeks, even though I had a broken nail. Nancy usually takes about 2 hours for my nails. I don't get anything special done. Just a natural pink powder and clear gel on top. So I made sure to text her at 9 am letting her know I have to be out at 11 a.m. I got there at 10, Tina started on my pedicure. When I walked in, there was already a customer waiting for Nancy. A few minutes later, another customer comes in waiting for Nancy. This one is very antsy and pacing impatiently. In my mind, I was like, "WTF?? She has TWO people waiting for her when she has me down for the first appt of the day??!!" When Nancy finally came in, around 10:15-10:20, she did the 1st lady's brows, which took about 10 minutes, and the 2nd lady was sitting in the chair at her station. I was so mad. She knew this and was telling me, there's no way she could've done my nails in an hour anyway. This must've been to convince herself and feelings of guilt that it was okay, what she'd done. Then Tina sees how upset I am and told me that lady waited for over an hour the night before and they weren't able to get to her. So they had her come in this morning. Ummm....okay...but I had the 1st appt so why did she tell the lady to come in at my appt time??!! After my pedicure, it was already 11 a.m and Nancy was trying to tell me to come in on Friday. Hello, I was getting my nails done for Thanksgiving, not the day after! She knew I was upset. I left and immediately started yelping and calling around to nail salons to find someone to do my nails. Was starting to feel defeated when no one had available appts until I found Nina at Nail Chic in Newark. Couldn't be happier too! She did a beautiful job, even saved my real nail under the broken acrylic one I had been walking around with for almost 2 weeks. I had been a customer of Nancy's for years. I started noticing that my very standard nail fills started to take longer and longer. I've even been there for 3 hours before! She started taking advantage that I was a regular customer and didn't make a huge stink about it. I have come to find that she is money hungry, therefore, not wanting to turn anyone away, which in turn sucks for her customers that are waiting for their appts. So disappointed, I'm never going back. I hope she reads this review and starts giving her clients better customer service! And Tina's gel pedicure was gorgeous. A complete waste of money. I was charged $30 for a gel pedicure that was subpar. I fell asleep during this service when I should have been micromanaging the work. It took me an hour at home with my own nail kit to correct the awful job they did. I have attached pictures and they don't lie. When they ran my credit card, I wasn't told to include the tip and was treated RUDELY when trying to resolve the issue. I am angry that I paid ANY MONEY for this awful pedicure. I paid $30 plus $5 cash tip to be treated RUDELY by people that don't even do quality work. I got dropped off here by my boyfriend who has raved about this place. First and last time spending money at Cathy's. DON'T COME HERE. read more

Horrible customer service, the staff was really rude. I tried to get a pedicure done by them and when I stopped by their shop they stared at me and made me wait for them for five minutes until they could decide whether they had time or not. I would like to say that I have been coming to this place for quite some time more than 5 years. All I can say when it comes to nails they know what they are doing. This place might be small but the quality of work is superb. They are not like that big spa places that they do so fast but nails are not clean. Yes, you have to wait at times but it's a small nail place and understanding the business. It's best to call for an appointment. Your money is worth spending here. Nancy and Tina do the best they can. And they have been at this location for quite some time. Great job for both for making it happen. For nails i would give them 4 stars. I was going there for 10 years because it is a block away from my house. After i had my son i gained a ton of weight. Nancy the main lady was very RUDE telling my i used to be skinny and beautiful. She even took it upon herself to hit my stomach and tell me i needed to loose weight!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME! Nancy always brings me back to life! I can go with 4 to 5 weeks without needing another fill. The fact that she is very attentive to detail and the quality of the service is really on point. I got a pedicure at this place and everything went wrong. The first thing that happened was the lady made fun of how long my toes were. She and her friend laughed at me and the lady continued to cut my foot twice. She then pushed to ask me if I wanted a design on my toes and I made it very clear that I do not. After she filed my toes she washed the equipment WITH THE WATER I HAD SOAKED MY TOES IN and continued t use it on another person. I do NOT recommend this place. read more

Great service, amazing attention to detail, friendly, and very accommodating. You will have to wait even if you make an appointment. So yes I have to give them only 4 stars for that. I gladly wait because they are that good. It's a tiny little hole in the wall place with two workers. They are superb at what they do. Make an appointment, show up and they will tell you if there is a wait, then go get a drink in the shopping center and come back. Simple. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! My two girlfriends and I came here to get acrylic nails done. First off, the shop small and filthy. I'm not expecting it to shine, but I don't even feel comfortable to breath in this shop. ugh! The ladies are not friendly...actually they are pretty rude. However, my friends and I were really excited and catching up so I just ignored the filth and poor customer service. I mean the nails would be pretty, right? WRONG. My lady actually cut me not once, not twice, but THRICE. Yes, THREE times with that little electrical file. I even started bleeding! What's worst is that I can almost bet my life that she did it on purpose the second and third time AND she started to giggle. I specifically asked for a clear layer polish over my acrlyics but instead she used pink. I was so disappointed... Although this place was cheap and close to my friends house, I'd go to BettyTily's nail salon in Pelton Center. She provided a MUCH better experience. read more
