This used to be my go-to nail spot when I was in high school. Came every 2 weeks. Never left unsatisfied. The only reason I won't give them 5 stars is because the smell. It just smells like crazy chemicals!! That's why I had to switch up my nail salon and am so thankful to have found "Victorias Salon in San Leandro!" You walk in and it doesn't even smell like nail polish! Anyway, I promised I'd never cheat, but I did and came to Miss Nail last Saturday, around 11am, because it was date night and I couldn't wait til Tuesday to get them done and my usual nail tech Jessica at Victoria Salon was off.. so I had to come here. I was extremely pleased with the outcome. I didn't have an appointment but they seen me immediately. I told the lady exactly what I wanted. I almost wanted to be selfish and not review so it doesn't get out of hand busy here but I had to praise this shop on the internet. Diane is the nail tech of all of our dreams. She's seriously an amazing artist between her airbrush work and freehand work, I'll never go to anyone else. I made the switch from nice salon to miss nail at the beginning of summer and it was my best decision of 2021 so far. I've come to her with some pretty unique and challenging ideas and she has gone above my visions every single time. The prices here are super fair, especially compared to the quality of work you get. I've gotten pedicures from a few different of the ladies and am always happy with those as well. They've definitely gained a bi-weekly loyal customer out of me, I just can't get enough. read more

They are finally open again 1) by appointment only 2) must have your temperature checked and a mask 3) there's a $5 charge to all of their services 4) because of Covid they cannot provide waxing services for now I've been going to this place since I was in high school and used to see Randy, then his wife now I see Linh only. She is great listens to what you want your nails don't break or peel. She is sooooo good at what she does I wouldn't see anyone else. The pedicures are done by other ladies who I have not had great experiences with lol they don't listen and sometimes massage you for 10 mins other times for 3 mins. So I don't get a pedicure here often only if I am in a rush. They do have a great color selection that has gel matching with regular. They are physical distancing, wearing masks and sanitizing after each client. read more

Miss Nails has really gone down hill now that Dianne is running things. She has a really bad attitute towards customers, when calling for appointments she says that you cant book with the same person for pedicure and nails, I called 2 weeks in advance for an app and she stills says that there wont be enought time to do both service. She got mad because I choose another nail tech over her, but asked her first if it was ok, which she agreed that it was ok. Her problem is that no one wants to do the nails with her because she does not do a good job. I have gone with her for years and spend over $100 every time I go, but will not continue to go anymore!! Customers should not go there anymore!! read more

Randy did a great job on my nails! I asked for a chocolate wine and gave me the perfect matte color. He was so quick which I really appreciated because I hate sitting for long periods of time. I have been coming here for years and always tell people to come here. Diane also does amazing designs! read more

Waited 25 mins to get told that they only have one nail tech that is able to make designs. I was asking for hearts on my nails due to v-day around the corner and they couldn't even do hearts smh. Waste of my time. Lady with the notepad needs to ask clients what they are looking to get done before making them wait 25 mins so people don't waste their time. Don't recommend if you want cute nails. read more

Horrible experience here i have been going there for 3 years I was kicked out because I wanted them to fix my nail I paid 87 dollars last week too get nail and feet done my nails messed up I went back to show them and than they where upset however I said I will be able to go here to get them fixed and I will pay the lady suggested I go some where else and never come back in front of a lot of people I had already had a long day then she gave me 5 dollars saying how they will give me my money back I said the money isn't a problem and she continues telling me to get out and I had been waiting there for 40 mins Waiting to get my nails fixed that I was going to pay for now i am bring my lawyer into this because I was humiliated and she had no reason she also called police on me and I was a faithful paying customer I hate to bring the court into this but I have no choice I was embarrassed and I wasted my time there so I say never go there !! read more

They lack in the basic elements 1) my gel polish chipped off same day 2) tech struggled to do a regular French tip and kept offering me gel bc it was easier..so I got a solid color 3) not a good system for walk ins! I was the first walk in before it opened and three more came in after. An appt came in with a friend and the owner said "only one appt, friend has to wait" - well the friend got to go before all the other walk ins and when I interjected, owner said so they can both be worked on 4) always pulling out cash is a pain in the A$$ and always strong chemical smell in small place read more

Needed a place to get my nails done since my girl is out on maternity leave. After reading reviews on yelp decided to try out this place. Upon arriving I asked if I could get a full set done and asked if the manager or owner could do them. Learning from experience and my moms opinion always ask for the manager or owner if you want your nails to look good. Sometimes going into a place you dont know they might give u a noobie and you might not be satisfied with them. I got glitter and pink with stars and they came out legit. The prices are pretty cheap too compare to most places i' ve been to. Theres ton of designs, airbrushing, and color glitter designs to choose from. As for the location it can be hard to miss so just do the speed limit and look for the sign and the gate and pull right in. Place is a little crammed and small and placement is sort of all over but for the prices and the variety of stuff its worth it. read more

I was referred to Miss Nails by two of my coworkers. My friend made an appointment for her and I and one other friend. I, luckily, was scheduled with Van. The place is what I would call a hole-in-the-wall. Looks like a house from the street. I was really surprised how big it was inside. Our appointment was at 1 and when we arrived it was packed in there. I was taken first around 1:10, while my friends followed in intervals of no more then 5 mins. I definitely enjoyed having Van do my nails. She was nice and listened to what i wanted. I even had a cough attack while she was doing my nails (eff being sick) and she kindly filled my water bottle up so that i could catch my breath. My nails are just how i wanted and the design is soooooo cute. I definitely will make further appointments with her :) Minus one star: -Automatic lock on the door: once i was finished i stepped outside to make a call and get some fresh air. Another customer and i both headed for the door and it was locked. She asked me if they were open and i said yes i just came out (and clearly there were a mass amount of people in the window). The nail ladies could clearly see we were trying to come in but would not unlock the door for us. My friend had to get up and let us in -Heard a few negative things about some of the women who work there being judgmental & racist. Thats a definite turn off. Money is money -Heard a few negative comments about some of the women who work there being rough. Couple of my friends said two ladies there had cut there toes during pedicures. read more

I've been going to this nail place for over 5 years. And I always tip above $10 I've recommended so many friends and have given my regular nail lady so much hype. Randy need to prioritize his best and regular clients but he sadly doesn't. I missed my first appointment god forbit I had a emergency and missed and forgot to cancel. I tried to come in and book an appointment and he refused to book me for missing the prior day. Can you do full designs? No. Can you do 3D nails? No. Can you put glitter on? No, glitter is old school. Can you do any design? Yes but the girl who does everything has cancer and isn't here anymore. So you'll just wait for whoever available. So why did I book an appointment for full set with 3D nail designs on every finger and end up he can't do anything? Then he tells me that designs they do have are for pedicures. Maybe his attempt at humor? Who knows Are you kidding me?!? Came in at my 10:30am appointment at 10:35. Called in advance to my appointment time as a courtesy to let him know I'm running late and there was no parking. Didn't get seated till 11:00am. Owner started on my nails but kept getting interrupted with helping other people and answering the phone. I told him I had to be out by noon to pick up my daughter. An hour and a half for a full set and simple design should have been enough time. Nope. He proceeded to tell me he refuses to do my design service and to just pick a color. I said just slap some gel on and I'll be on my way. He was annoyed the entire time. Kept trying to make small talk but condescendingly told me I didn't know anything cause he knows it all. Also asked me if I was Vietnamese. I said yes I am. Then he said, "no you're not". Dude! Are you trynna tell me what my own ethnicity is?! C'mon! Alrighhhhttttey. Never coming back here again!! Owner needs a lesson in customer service. Especially with new guests. There goes building your business! I'm Vietnamese. We are known for nails! If I don't want to go here, what makes you want to?? This review is for Emily! I was able to see her for a fill today with almost no advanced notice and I couldn't be happier with my nails. She was patient, sweet, and paid close attention to detail. She saved my nails after an appointment for a full set at a different salon left me disappointed. I know it may not seem like a lot of money to get your nails done but to me it is, so I'm at important that I'm happy with the results. recommend Emily!! read more

BE AWARE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! I was referred to Miss Nails by my sister who gets her nails done by Diane (the owner with a horrible attitude). I was told to go to Diane or her husband Randy(the other owner who is beyond rude), however i dropped by as a walk-in and they were kind of busy so I just went to the first person available(this lady was surprisingly very nice). I needed a full set I was told $30 plus $15 for the paint I wanted and another $5 for cutting my cuticles (no problem). While getting my nails done a young lady sat down at Randy's table not sure what happened between them but in less then minutes Randy is screaming and yelling at this young lady. The young lady gets up and leaves and states she will never be coming back. Now fast forward to two days later I notice my nails (EVERY SINGLE LAST NAIL) is lifting up and look as if you can just pop them off. So I stop back by Miss Nails to show Randy and Diane my nails. Randy says he remembers me coming in two days ago and they can fix them for me. So I'm like great can I make an appointment to come in early Saturday because that is the only day I will have time to come and sit down. I explained my situation that I work in SF I live in Hayward I have a long commute to and from work and have to pick my one year old son up from daycare every day as well. So I would only be free on the weekends( this was a Monday that I came back and I had gotten my nails done on Saturday) so Randy then states I have to come in before a week was up. I said great well Saturday makes it one week exactly I can come in early Saturday morning. Randy then proceeded to tell me if I waited till Saturday I would have to pay because it was over a week. I explained why I couldn't come in until Saturday again and then explained that's why I dropped in today so they can see with their own eyes that ALL of my nails were lifting after only two days. Randy began to get loud with me and telling me "oh well" if I could not come before Saturday then I would have to pay again(if you could see the looks on everyone's faces in the room, some of them were even commenting on how wrong they were treating me). I asked for my money back (since I couldn't do a charge back on my card being that they only take cash) And NOPE couldn't get a refund I was told to leave the shop. Smh I am so disappointed with the service I received at Miss Nails and I will never be returning. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU SAVE YOURSELF THE TRIP AND NEVER EVEN VISIT THEM. I promise your not missing out on anything but two rude owners who clearly hate what they do for a living and does not have respect or even cares for their paying customers. read more

My daughter and I have been getting our nails done here for over a year now. I'm not to picky on who does them but Van does a really good job. I love the variety of designs that they have and I usually change designs every 2 weeks. The prices are very reasonable. My daughter (7yrs) loves the little flowers they put on her nails and the attention they give her. I always get acrylic over my nails but will be trying out the gels for awhile. Havent gotten a pedicure yet so I cant comment on that and have had my eye brows done once but I'll continue to do my own. It's always easy to set up an appointment and never a problem if I walk in. I love there late hours, (I always go after 7pm) most shops kick you out or wont take you once its close to closing but they always finish with there customers which is awsome read more

Staff is very unprofessional & are not knowledgeable of any good customer service skills. I went to Miss Nail on Wednesday because all the other shops were busy, and I haven't been there for a few years so.. why not!? I got my gel full set done by the woman that sits in the first row, left side. She was very rude. She cut my skin under my real nail really bad with her pointy filling tool. My reaction was to obviously remove my finger from the pain so I pulled my hand back towards me while saying "ouch!, that hurts!!" The woman pulled my hand back toward her and didn't even look at me! She only said "sorry".. that's it!.. I asked if she wanted me to wash my hand because I was bleeding from under my nail and she said no.. alright, accidents happen BUT know how to react when you make a mistake! She didn't make any acknowledgement of what she did wrong. OK we got to the nail length part of the process, I asked her to cut them a little shorter for me after we had already cut them once. She rolled her eyes and cut again. This time she didn't compare both hands to make sure they were even. I asked her to please make sure they were even with each other and with so much attitude she replied "no, later later!"... I was like uhmmm ok?... ( she never did) OK so now, we're at the polish coating part. She added color on just my thumb, so I placed my hand backwards inside the light machine as I do in other nails shops. She said "no no no, other way!" I said okay sorry... and she replied, "haha is this your first time getting your nails done" I said uhmmm no why? And she said it seemed like it because I didn't know what I was doing. RUDE! So what ever, I sucked it up and finished up.. I got my pedicure from another lady. She was pretty nice, but the polish on my thumb came off THEEE days later... (lost the picture of it) I went in to get my toe's polish redone on Saturday since I payed $20 for it.. when I went in, the nail lady that was helping me grabbed her coworkers little portable pedicure car. She came up to me with it and told me to put my foot up so she can take care of it.... I was sitting there for 10 minutes before she approached me and I observed her coworker working on another customer with that same portable... SHE WANTED ME TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE SAME TOWEL AS THAT OTHER CUSTOMER. There were nails on it from being clipped.... I was disgusted!!! I said NO THIS IS DIRTY!! so she got up and grabbed me another towel without saying a word. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! NEVER COMING BACK. Take your $$$ somewhere worth it. read more

I went to miss nails on a Friday morning around 9:45am to get my nails filled and a pedi not to mention my cuzn funeral was at 11am .... i didn't have enough time to get my fill so randy told me he could make a appointment with me for 2pm ... Cool wasn't a problem I could just come back after the funeral no biggie So I come back at 1:45pm to get my nails filled as I set my appointment for and I patiently waited while Randy finished up with his client .... Before he was even done he was directing me to sit in Diane chair which I didn't mind because she done my nails many of times before but then I also remember that she had messed my nails up the last time I came there so I really didn't want her to do my nails again ... so I explained to Randy that I booked with him for a reason and I didn't want to get my nails done by her ... he tells me that he told me earlier that she was who I was booking with when I clearly asked what time could he take me after my cuzn funeral ... had I knew he booked me with her I would not have came back ... any who I let her do my nails and as she's doing them I see she has a attitude ... she basically filled my nails from the root of my finger to the middle and left the tips very thin as if it was my real nails ... I was so irritated I just left not to mention I tipped her ! A couple days later on Sunday which was EASTER SUNDAY I realized my toes were chipping polish ... I called Monday morning to let them know my nails were fucked up and my toes were already chipping and I was told to come back ... so I returned waited patiently for 15mins while Diane took her time to do nothing at all ... I sit down in her chair tell her what the problem is what I don't like etc.. she starts yelling at me like I don't know what I like and I'm wrong so I CHECKED her ass told her I paid my fucking money it shouldn't be a discussion about anything period especially when I paid you my hard earned money ... she still kept going on and on I told her either you gone fix it or not cuz at this point I'm ready to knock everything over in the shop ... she end up fixing them and making them worst then they was when I came ... then she wouldn't give me alcohol to rub on my nails after she was done or cuticle oil ... I didn't even get my toes fixed I walked out and told they ass I was never coming back ever ... The customer service is horrible employees are rude and this isn't what I pay to come deal with I WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY AT MISS NAILS NOR WILL I EVER GO BACK THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST NAIL SHOP I BEEN TO IN A WHILE 0 STARS FOR THEY ASS ! read more

0 fucking stars for this place!!! I got here at 1:30 & they started my nails at almost 3 & then did my toes, my toes took almost 2 hours!! She was mad about taking gel off my feet telling me gel is not f r feet like what?! And she charged me extra to take it off I've never been charged to take off the gel , & she would paint 1 nail & put it in the light each time, & I came with my mom & she also got a full set & pedicure & the young girl who was doing her nails also complained about the gel & she had a mad face the whole time like she didn't want to do it & after I walked out I noticed ALL of my toe nails are cut crooked!! It's not even a little bit, you can tell at a quick glance. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN ! My first & last time. read more

I don't know if I just caught the wrong person on the wrong day but I was completely unsatisfied. Except for the fact that it was super cheap in comparison to other spots (that's why I have it that extra star) but I guess i got what I paid for. Got a new acrylic set that is super thick & looks like a ball of clay in top of my regular nail. Tried to ask the chick to file them down & she looked pissed. Never going back there again. read more

Seriously, I really want to like this place because it's conveniently located next to my daily routes...however, this place sucked. I've been here twice and both times I've been disappointed. My first full set that I received from this place was honestly the worst manicure I've ever received in my life. Within ONE week, my nails lifted and turned color. The lady that did my nails was also extremely unfriendly and had the "I just want to get this over with" attitude. I had to get another full set done within one week and the lady at the other salon said it was worst nail set she's ever seen, and I'd hve to agree! They were thick, lifting and coloring. I'm writing this review as I'm sitting here a the Miss Nail salon. My toes are drying under this UV light they have set up for my feet. The pedicurist charged me $3 extra for a foot scrub... Uh, wtf? She didn't even massage my feet or legs. She was rude. And everything was done within 10 minutes? Quickest pedicure in the world. I'm seriously never coming here again. read more

Pedicurist tore my skin with pumice. Waxer placed the wax in the opposite direction of the hair growth-- then pulled the cloth at a diagonal towards the direction of hair growth. And kept farting the whole time. Enough said. read more

She started doing my manicure first because she said she was the only one who could do hard gel. While doing my nails she was handling my hands and nails very aggressively to the point where I was worried she was going to cut my skin. I also noticed that some of my nails looked uneven and off center so I politely pointed it out to her. Instead of listening to my concern she became defensive and sounded angry. She told me she was trying her best but could not fix it because the problem was my natural nails. She also told me that she had been doing nails for 35 years. At that point I became too uncomfortable to continue and asked her to stop. The photos I posted are how my nails looked when I decided to stop the service. They are not photos of a completed manicure. I did not want her to finish because of how aggressively she was doing my nails and how rude and defensive she became when I expressed my concerns. After I asked her to stop she told me that I still had to pay her because I had wasted her time. I understand that someones time and work are valuable but as a customer I should also be able to speak up when I am uncomfortable with a service without being treated rudely. I did not stop the appointment for no reason. I stopped because I no longer felt comfortable allowing her to continue working on my nails. After leaving I went to Golden Nails and the difference in how I was treated was amazing. They were very welcoming nice and understanding about what happened. They were able to fix the problems with my nails and they did not even charge me for fixing them. I am extremely thankful for their kindness and for making me feel comfortable after such an unpleasant experience. I am sharing my experience because customers should feel comfortable communicating with their nail technician especially when something does not look right or they are experiencing discomfort. Unfortunately I did not feel listened to or respected at Mimi Nails and I chose to leave rather than continue a service that made me uncomfortable.

I don't get manicures regularly so I didn't realize the man doing my nails was butchering them until it was too late. Basically, he used the machine for gel removal/nail buffing to completely annihilate my nails and cuticles; instead of using cuticle softener or soaking my hands in warm water, he went straight in with the machine and essentially drilled everything off. The surface of all of my nails is now ruined, and I have cut up cuticles that are bleeding and aching. I went home and put Neosporin and band-aids on all of my fingers. I can't stress enough that none of these fingers had hangnails or anything that would warrant roughness/leave them this red and bloody. Multiple staff members saw the blood and did not offer any kind of discount - they did put some rubbing alcohol on two of the fingers, but it didn't feel like enough to mitigate infection risk.

I could of gone out and got a deli sandwich sorry that's a meal right there $2 charge for using a CC which I know ok it's 2 dollars (I don't agree with especially being a business owner myself you need to just eat that cost/write off those CC fees yourself for all of your transactions you do a day. Also it's not like I was trying to pay my $5 tab I paid $79 on my card. I got no special design or any rhinestone I didn't get a copy of my receipt but I swear they must of charge a service fee for tip or tax. Now I got to spend more money on another place to fix because you know I'm not going come back for a $10 per nail fix because you know they wont fix for free having it be only 3 days. Also in the front they have a sign that says no refunds so they must rip off a lot of ppl by charging all the upcharges without informing customers of price.

this place is horrible!!!!!! a friend of mine refered me here i called prior to coming in asked about prices i was told if possible come asap and id get in .however remember this is my first time here walked in was greeted properly! half way through my nails when i got up to wash my hands i seen a "cash only" sign all the way in the back of the nail place i asked the nail lady if they took debit just to be sure because we are in 2015.she said no and direct me to go across the street to the gas station atm, she asked me to pull money out first then she will finish i agreed when i got up she asked me to leave my phone and i responded i have 3 kids i cant do that.then she asked for my driver license with all my residence info which i didn't feel comfortable either so i said i would leave my medical card with my first and last name and she got really mean! so i proceeded to walk out to go to the atm she jolted up and grabbed my back mind you i am 7 months pregnant! horrible customers service i would never come here! read more

Miss Nail is a little difficult to find (the picture on Yelp is a huge help), but definitely worth the search. Van is amazing, and I always leave with my nails looking incredible. She has two huge design books to look through, and she will customize them to make you happy and pleased with the end result. Van is the only person in the south bay who I trust with my nails! I'm going to see her this week so that she can do my nails for my wedding this Thursday. :) One small negative: The lady who did my pedicure the first time I went here was really pushy and not very nice. Yep!!!!!!!! I finally found a place for my nails after years of trying. Thank you for the post on recommending Loan at Miss Nail, and yes I tried her. She is the best of the best. She is also very nice and speaks good English. 10 stars for Loan if I can. She only works there on Saturday so try to make appointment with her as soon as can. The place is nice too. It does not look that great from the outside, but it is very nice and clean inside. I called in maybe an hour beforehand to see if they could see me for a gel-X soak off and a gel manicure and was super lucky they had time. I went to the awful nail salon across town (see other review) for a removal previously and they ruined the integrity of my nails. Ree took her time to actually soak my fake nails off and when that was all gone, she took care of my real nails and cuticles. I only get manicures before special occasions but they'll all be with Ree from this point on. This is a family run business. Ree shared they've been there for 30+ years. I believe Anna is her mom? Anna was there too. All the other clients there were regulars. I can see why! Only small downside is they don't have a parking lot and Castro Valley Blvd can be busy but not impossible to find a spot close by. They accept cards with a 2% service charge but do have Zelle to avoid fees or good ol cash.
