I really needed a relaxing day for myself so after donating Plasma I stopped over at Lux Nails & Spa. I originally messaged them to make an appointment but I didn't give them enough time to respond before I showed up. I walked in on a Thursday afternoon, it was not too busy and I was able to be sat within minutes. I wanted a full acrylic set and pedicure. The pedicure was just the basic with no add ons. The nail tech pushed a bit to upsell but a basic pedicure is all I needed. She did a quick and clean job. The manicurist was great. Got to work immediately and got exactly what I wanted immediately even after I changed my mind a couple of times she did not skip a bit. I was out of there within the hour and paid a reasonable price for it all. Pedicure was $30 and the full set $50. Definitely a convenient location I'll visit more often. read more

My first time here I got a regular pedicure with acrylic and got French tip which was $85 in total that's fine it was nice ! I tipped $20 I come back different nail tech which is okay and I get a pedicure and I get the regular pedicure with acrylic all white & it was $80 ... & it's been 2 days and it's already coming off... lazy job and rude . I say they do a lazy job to those who they THINK won't tip. In my opinion you'll get a tip regardless but for $80 can my pedicure last at least a week? You would think for that price.. They judge you based off what you look like, what you wear & they ALL talk about you. They greet the ones who dress better even though the ones who don't dress all that good little do they know they got more money than the ones who dressing nice. Never coming back again read more

I'm a licensed cosmetologist, so it makes me sad to write this review. Asked for 2 full face waxes. -The wax was not in a heater so by the time it was my turn it was not hot enough. -My skin was not held taught, halfway through I helped hold my skin so it would be a little more bearable. -Wax got in bf's hair because the used waxed strip was put on the bed next to his head. -Completely missed the front of my chin, when I told the owner after I heard the price he said "there's nothing there." -felt extremely rushed. In a race to use the wax while still warm maybe ? The lady doing my wax was very nice but I think maybe needs more practice or maybe just rushed. I was suppose to do my underarms and my legs still but got scared because I knew by the time they got to my armpits the wax would be even colder and with the skin not being held down I was scared it was going to be excruciating. Nice little gem in a semi vacant strip mall on Mission. I booked an appointment for a gel mani pedi for a recent trip and celebration of getting the digits out for fair weather..... Nice service, they do offer lots of upsells to their services but they don't push hard. They set a timer for the massage which I thought was unusual, but I guess to show you're getting the full monte. The place was busy, but not too busy, in and out in an hour. I came at 4:30 on a Sunday and they said they were closed. I asked them, "How come the sign says 5?". They said, "Because they want to go home and they have things to do at the house". All I wanted was a quick manicure to get rid of this hangnail I have. I was a little frustrated because this is my favorite place to come to and I work during their business hours and Sunday was my day to treat myself. These are my nails 10 days after my service. I got a gel-x fullset. As you can see, 2 of my nails fell off, one broke in half, one charm is rusted and the other charm is missing. For an 85$ service, this is ridiculous. It looks like I got in a fight, and all I have done is go to school and do various school activities. I was very excited to come here because it was recommended to me by several people. I will say they all get acrylics and this place seems to do great with acrylics, but if you are coming for a gel-x service .... please save your money as mine was clearly WASTED. read more

I like to treat myself from time to time or relax when i decide to go get a pedicure or get my nails done. I got a pedicure once & never again after that because obviously she did a horrible job. I officially stopped going because the owner brian himself didn't do a good job on a full set acrylic set that i wanted. I like to get them long too. Not even a full week & they were already lifting. Didn't seal my cuticle. And obviously didn't do a good job over all & on PURPOSE. If someone gets long nails you ensure to make them strong and do your job right period. Nothing to it really. I was in the East Bay Area and really wanted to get my nails done because it was all chipped. I was able to book an appointment online right away in the morning and came in on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy and had to wait 10 minutes, so it wasn't too bad. Jessica did my nails and did the chrome look exactly how I wanted. The shape however wasn't what I was really looking for, as it became too square for my liking but it wasn't bad! I also wish it was cleaned just a bit more, but I still liked how it came out. I also got a gel pedicure and was really pleased with it!! I appreciate the massage at the end even just for a regular pedicure. I forgot my cash to tip, but love how they have the option to pay via Venmo or zelle where you can also add your tip. Life saver to have that convenience!! Ive been going to this place for months to get my nails done and have had no issues but today was a different day. I showed my assigned nail tech the picture that I wanted her to immulate and the front desk receptionist as well. I confirmed with them both twice that she could do it because I know that not everyone has the same skill set. So when she did it wrong, I said something. She called the front desk guy over and I showed him the picture again to compare what she did. He agreed it didnt look the same but then proceeded to tell me that my nails will not be exactly the same as the picture sarcastically. I told him, thats fine but it has to look like the picture to some extent. I was trying to give the lady feedback as she was doing it but she was not listening to me. She honestly was not far off from the picture but she was not open to hearing me. He then tells me that no one can do the style I wanted, which was a simple ombre style, and I'll have to reschedule for one of the male technicians who are busy today and have no time to do my nails. I asked him, to give me a time and day and he said he will double check with them and walked off. Immediately the lady attempted to cut off my nail extensions that she just put on. I had to pull my hand back and tell her to hold on until we figure things out. She was making it seem like I was going to walk out, no girl, I want my darn nails done, like calm down. Fast forward, they get one of the guys to finish my nails and he was being hecka sarcastic with me the entire time. At that point, I just wanted to be done. He Did a pretty good job, but at the end just to stick it to me, he placed the cuticle oil on my knuckles instead of the actual cuticle smh lol. Didn't lotion my hands, no finishing touches. These people are entitled as if I don't pay them...never going back as I can spend my money at an establishment that knows how to conduct business and has basic customer service skills. If you go here just know that some of the nail techs do a good job but do not give them feedback, they will catch attitudes quickly. And I know they were talking about me on their language. Mind you, I was very respectful and tolerate the entire time. I never got out of character or raised my voice, I just told them what I wanted. Ivan and his team here are amazing! This is my new go to for all my nail needs. I love how clean they are here especially with their COVID precautions and what not- they sanitize their equipment, chairs, pretty much everything in between clients and I have not seen that in any of the local salons. I always request for Lynn for my pedicures (the deluxe package with the orange scent is my personal favorite). Lynn is so detail oriented and will literally strip my gel polish off and redo it if something looks a little off. Their online scheduling system is convenient to book your own appointments without any back and forth. So happy I found this place! read more

THE WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! 100% don't recommend. I couldn't wait to write this review. I was looking for a nice nail salon in Hayward and came across Lux Nails & Spa. I made an appointment to get a fill which was granted. The next day I went to my appointment and was sat down right away. I should have got the woman's name who did my nails because she did them super sloppy and cut me sooooo bad because she was moving waaaaay too fast. After she cut me she rushed over to another station to grab this powder and sprinkled it on the cut. I assume the powder was to stop the bleeding? But why wouldn't she explain that nor tell me what was in it? I could have been allergic. At this point in my appointment I am super uncomfortable and frustrated AND IN PAIN! I chose my nail polish color and she proceeded to finish my nails. As I was sitting in the chair I realized she didn't even ask me to wash my hands before we started. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Once she was finished I looked down at my nails and saw lots of acrylic around the skin of my cubicles. How sloppy!!! A rushed nail job with poor service and poor nail practices. Just wanted to update my review from some time ago. This place is still my go-to for my pedicures and my occasional manicure. I made a visit today, 6/25/23, and had the pleasure of having Daisy take care of my toes today. I really want to highlight that she did an amazing job and I will definitely be requesting to book with her for the future (all of them are excellent though) Daisy just had great hands and it seemed extra relaxing for some reason. I did want to mention that they no longer accept Zelle nor do they give a cash discount. On a side note that I will not ding them on because it's on person and not all of them, I had one of the male gentleman on my previous visit a few weeks back passive aggressively reiterate that cash is best and that tips should be left in cash. I understand that, but you shouldn't pester your customers with that. On occasion, some of us do not have the time to run to the ATM as cash becomes less common as oppose to electronic forms of payment. If cash is something that they prefer, they should have kept their discount as an incentive. read more

Efficiency Friendliness Cleanliness I had an emergency, and my normal nail salon doesn't take walk in or have online booking so I decided to Google a place, and was pleasantly surprised this nail bar is near my house and I can book online! There was a 9:30 am which is also when they open the salon. I arrived early and waited in the parking lot. At exactly 9:29 am, on 5/5/23, I watched 10 nail technicians + walk in to work. It was all very efficient. Pedicure spas were being prepared for the reserved appointments at 9:30 and manicures set up. The gentleman at the reception/cashier area checked the schedule. Techs were ready to work. I ordered up a Deluxe regular mani/pedi. This service included a 10 minute massage, scrub, and paraffin wax. As this was just an emergency run, I didn't do my regular gel. There were 2 nail techs assigned to me for each service. The pedicurist was rather quiet and my manicurist was friendly and chatty yet not overly which I really appreciated. I was asked to pick a color and I picked a pearly white. The massages are timed with a timer. It was accurate for my feet but the hands was much shorter which disappointed a little bit because my hands were soooo tired and in desperate need. It was still good though. The place is cleeeeeean. PeriodT. I love it. After all the basics were done, I was ready for my nail polish. unfortunately, my nail tech returned to report that the nail polish I selected was not available. The conversation them became somewhat confusing because of the language barrier. I tried to communicate my preferences, but in the end, she selected a color for me that I didn't ask for - I was kinda bummed, but couldn't muster enough energy, honestly, to have another conversation. I mentioned that my cuticles needed extra TLC, but that clean feeling you know when you've had years of manicures wasn't there. - I didn't take a picture of the before which was decent enough, but here's a picture of the after - literally just 4 days. $91 including tip of 4 days nail polish and cuticles that have been "manicured" . - if you pay in card, apparently there is an additional $1 charge. The minus 1 star is for not disclosing that information up front. This isn't about the $$, it's about business integrity. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to rate higher than 3 stars. But! I think I will go again because of the + starred reasons I gave above. read more

Save your money and go somewhere else. The location/spa was very nice inside, pedicure massage chairs were in good condition. No one talks to you. They hand you a menu to choose from and that's it. When it was time to pay my total was $15 higher than the listed prices on their menu. Come to find out it costs $15.00 for them to place gel polish on your nails, in most cases I am ok with this as I have seen the upcharge before. BUT I BROUGHT MY OWN GEL NAIL POLISH. Seriously, I bring my own gel polish and you still charge me the extra $15.00. I could see a few extra $$$ because of UV lights but $15.00!!! Sorry ladies your tip went to the cost of gel nail polish that I didn't even use there. read more

I believe in second chances, so I went back on a weekday (again with an appointment) and chose Bryan as my nail tech. I wanted a gel manicure with a simple design on one hand. He did a great job and replicated the design I wanted perfectly! So I would say the place is hit or miss, but 1) always go on a weekday if possible and 2) Bryan and Ivan are the gems so stick with them if possible. read more

Been here a couple of times with girlfriends. They are typically really busy and they have quite a few stations for pedis and manis. I like it when they can work on both at the same time. It's a real time saver. They have a lot of colors and gels to choose from. The massages could be a bit better but it's not a massage parlor. I don't usually come here because it's so expensive.
