i had the catfish and shrimp combo, $10.75 and its an incredible amount of food. the catfish was really delicate and fresh tasting. that being said the shrimp was pretty meh. the combo comes with fries and toast, which makes for an overly heavy meal. also the catfish was way too salty imo. u could make this combo into three meals by adding in a good amount of veges, while cutting the salt with a lot of lemon juice. i'm not from the south or anything but fried catfish will always have a place in my heart for that scene in 'beasts of the southern wild' where the lil girl is feeding her dying dad some.. not to ruin the movie for u :3 read more

Today I filled my fix for catfish! Fried and to be honest I have never heard of nuggets nor have I had them but I really enjoyed them today:-) my boyfriend grabbed us some lunch and I was not disappointed. So! The nuggets were seasoned very well and they give you plenty of sauce! If you are looking for a nice greasy meAl then this place is it!! Surprisingly the nuggets were not over the top greasy. If you're looking for decent catfish, this is the place. The place isn't fancy or anything but its a good place to call in advance and just go pick up your food. This is one of those places that definitely thrives on word-of-mouth. You would ride right passed this place if you didn't know how good the food was. Tucked away in an unremarkable strip mall in the Northeast, this place is easy to miss. It's a hole in the wall but in a great way. Best catfish in El Paso and amazing customer service. Every time I've been there (which is A LOT) the owner comes by to ask me how my food was. Could be cleaner and there isn't a ton of seating but that is completely overlooked by the quality of the food an service. I usually order the kids meal but sub the fries for okra and it feeds myself and my toddler 2 meals each. I can't give this place 5 stars, at least not yet. This little spot out in the northeast is by far the best place for fried catfish that i can think of. They offer a variety of things on their menu, from the catfish i mentioned, both in nuggets and full sizes, gyros, shrimp and the best sweet cole slaw in the northeast. I have been lucky enough to try their catfish nuggets and cole slaw so this review is off of those delicious items. As soon as you walk in you get the divey feel of the place. The times i've been there the small t.v. at the entrance always has COPS playing so it's kinda funny to walk in to that. Service has always been good and with a smile, you walk up put your order then sit down and wait. The booths fill a bit small for me, i'm a big guy, but are still comfortable to sit in. They bring you out your meal and all you see is a mountain of fish, once you move them around you find their fries at the bottom being kept hot by all the fish stacked on top. They ask you if you need tartar sauce since both their hot sauce and ketchup is usually at the booth already, and you get to dig in. Each bite tastes just as good as the last. Most places that offer these portions will be a hit or miss with a few of the nuggets but every time i've been here everything is perfect. I usually recommend places where if you are in the area they are a must go, but with the Catfish Basket, even if you are a far eastsider you have to make the trip to try this place out. read more

Nevertheless, this hole in the wall amidst what looks like an abandoned plaza, serves up the best catfish nuggets I've had. It doesn't say much, but try it! Good stuff. Surf AND Turf?
