My husband has bought me jewelry from Catbird in the past, so I was very pleasantly surprised passing by this storefront unexpectedly! I knew I had to wait until they opened to check things out in person, and luckily they are very punctual. A surprising amount of people came in at opening - I guess it's a very popular store/location! We were first window shopping around, and it was initially hard to get a staff to help answer a few questions about pieces we were interested in. Finally we got someone's attention and they actually pulled out the entire collection for us to see and ask to try on. It wasn't on display, but as part of the box of pieces that were for sale, I found an adorable ring and knew I had to get it. Unfortunately they had sold out of my size - at the time, my fingers must've been extremely swollen from the heat because my size was way bigger than I remembered it to be. The staff didn't mention anything like that to be wary of, but I felt like they would have known. I left the shop without buying anything but did note the ring I wanted and got on the waitlist online. Eventually they came back in stock, so I'm glad I did go to the storefront to see it in person! read more

I'm stunned to leave this review but also want to warn others and hope Catbird will actually remedy my situation. I purchased two name rings late in 2025, I had been a customer at the original location since they opened in 2005 when I was in college! I've bought so many rings from them, many by Wwake but also very nice ones by their in house line. A lot of personalized ones over the years with sentimental value for me. I think quality and production must be way down and I'm worried maybe these rings I have from last year may not even be actual gold. Maybe it's a fault in the design? I put one on and almost cut myself- it had split!!! I was so shocked and reached out to them immediately since this hasn't happened in 20+ years as a loyal customer who recommended their brand, bought gifts for family, etc. I emailed customer service and they said it's under warranty and can be fixed. I felt like that would be okay until I looked at my other name ring, purchased on the same date. I can see a split forming but not complete in the same exact location as the other one!!!!! I don't want a "fix" or replacement anymore unless it's another brand. I'd like my money back, I've never ever had real jewelry break on its own like this and I take very good care of these treasured objects. I can see these will break again and again :( If they can actually give good customer service I'll return as a customer to still buy trusted brands like Wwake but would never buy from their line ever again and can see numerous recent Reddit posts describing Catbird line jewelry falling apart! Sticking to Kathryn Bentley and other cool designers who take more pride in their work. Buyer beware :/ read more

Catbird - Brooklyn - Dollhouse Diamond Heart Gold Locket - Jewelry Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I received the Swan Lake engagement ring from Catbird which my fiancé spent thousands of dollars on only to have multiple prongs bend, break off, and catch on all fabrics of clothes within 4 weeks of daily wear. Upon reaching out to them, they were told there's nothing they could do except repair the one broken prong (the ring is only under a repair warranty and only temporarily) while admitting in writing to us that the ring is not meant for daily use. This goes directly against the info their employee told us when he said ring was sturdy and would hold up for a lifetime as we were considering buying it, which is the reason we bought it. This is what I'm most upset about- they lied to our faces and now are admitting it's not meant to be an engagement ring. Funny how your salesperson said it was! We've reached out to their store multiple times and spoken to a manager and they say there's nothing they can do and won't provide contact info for their customer service department (because one doesn't exist). We are now working with an independent jeweler to see what our options are, which will cost us more money. They confirmed the ring was designed in a way where prongs would catch on clothing and bend and rip off incredibly easily. Please avoid this company like the plague, their rings catch on hand towels, knit fabrics, jersey fabrics, sweaters, literally will get huge clumps of fuzz stuck in it and prongs bend and rip off. Literally the ring is a ripoff and the company is a scam. read more

I first visited this location back in October 2025 and again this past weekend (I'm not from New York). Each time, the team that helped me was super kind, patient, and helpful when I browsed their selection. A special shoutout to Haley and Luis for being super awesome! An additional shoutout to Emma, Mia, and Kimberly at the Rockefeller location and Faith and Paula at the Soho location! I was met with the same level of kindness, patience, and helpfulness at these NYC locations as well! read more

If you love quality gold and/or silver jewelry that is on the dainty, delicate and modern side and can be worn every day, Catbird Jewelry is a place you should check out. Their pieces are smaller, more delicate than classic jewelry found in "fine jewelry" stores -- perfect for a more casual, subtle everyday look. I own a collection of Catbird pieces, mostly the 14K gold stackable rings which I mix and match, but also necklaces and stud earrings. And I'm not done collecting yet! LOL. They also offer "zapped" bracelets in-person which I find intriguing. Several celebrities have been sighted wearing their pieces (e.g., Meghan Markle). I love that Catbird's jewelry is made in New York, is ethically sourced, and offers convenient purchases online. Shipping is fairly quick -- 2-3 days for my orders. I also love that Catbird has a level of quality I can trust without needing to try pieces on before ordering. I would love to visit the brick and mortar store. Prices aren't always to my liking for some of the thinner pieces, but the store sometimes offers discount codes and/or sales. read more

I have never been in to the store, but I ordered a necklace from them for my sister-in-laws birthday. They have so many cute options. Their jewelry is definitely on the more expensive side, but the quality of product and service does seem to match. I got this necklace from the Clairo collab. The whole collab was adorable. I used a picture from the website since I don't have a picture of the actual necklace. I marked that it was a gift and they sent a cute bow for my to wrap around the box. They also included a sticker and a cute little flower. It felt like a very personal experience even tho it was just something ordered off a website. I would definitely order from them again if I'm looking for a nice piece of jewelry. read more

On line experience was the worst. Tried to order a gift card that per website was supposed to go out immediately, I needed it in two days Card was charged immediately, no gift card no order confirmation via email. Customer service ignored website communication tree times for follow up, just AI auto responses for days. Finally so frustrated we tracked someone down THRU INSTAGRAM to cancel THEN I received an email BTW we had to cancel your order because it was flagged as potentially fraudulent. If that was true I wonder when they would have let me know......Great company. read more

I've been a loyal Catbird customer and have purchased 3 rings from them, so this review genuinely pains me to write. I bought two chain rings at the same time, different sizes, different fingers. Both stretched out significantly within 2 months: not a little, but enough that they were sliding off my hand. Fine, maybe that's a known quirk of delicate chain rings. What is NOT fine is how Catbird handled it. I called the SoHo store to ask about resizing (past their 20-day window, yes: but we're talking about gold rings, not a final sale blouse. Rings were stretching out more and more over time.). The rep was dismissive, unhelpful, and borderline rude. The only solution offered was to send me a replacement in the exact same size. When I pointed out the obvious: that the same ring in the same size would just stretch out again, the response was, verbatim, "probably." When I asked what I was actually supposed to do about a stretched-out gold ring, the answer was "I don't know, buy a smaller one." From a brand advertising made-to-last gold jewelry, charging premium prices. The design stretches, they know it stretches, and their solution is to keep sending you the same ring in the same size until... you give up? I came in as a repeat customer ready to buy more. I'm leaving as someone who will never shop there again and will be telling everyone I know. Disappointing doesn't even cover it. read more

BUYER BEWARE: Don't order anything online from Catbird unless you're willing to roll the dice on actually getting the size you ordered. Bad quality control and horrible customer service. I ordered a ring in a size 8 based on both the size guide online and based on other catbird rings I bought several years ago. The ring I received was clearly not a size 8 (see photos of a size 8 catbird ring I bought long ago and the new catbird ring, which is much bigger). I reached out to customer service asking for a simple exchange for the correct size, and they refused. My only option was to return the one I got and buy a new one. That's fine, but a reputable company would at least offer to cover the shipping for the new ring in the correct size. Catbird refused to even comp me the $6 shipping for me to order a new ring, on the grounds that 'actual ring size can vary from the measurements on the size guide'. WTF? How can a reputable business get away with claiming that a product will be a certain size, and then selling the wrong size and refusing to make it right? I was thinking about buying my engagement ring here, but based on this terrible customer service, I'm better off looking elsewhere. If Catbird is too cheap to even cover a measly $6 to ship me a replacement, how could I trust them to correct it if they messed up a much more expensive engagement ring? read more

We went in person to try on and the person who helped us was fabulous! Their online store is awful. You can't talk to a real person. We put in an order for our wedding bands and got an order number, the money came out of the account. We received no confirmation, we emailed, we called, lack of response until we started urging and pleading with them. Now we may not have wedding bands in time. Extremely disappointed. read more

The band Catbird sent me looks nothing like the photos on the website. Most of the time I would let something like this go and just enjoy it for what it is, but this is my *wedding ring* that I will be wearing forever and I am extremely disappointed it isn't what Catbird led me to believe based on the photos. I've gone back-and-forth with their customer service about this with EXTREMELY detailed evidence, but they continue to gaslight me and stated they are not going to accept a return. There is a huge difference between the beautiful craftsmanship displayed on the listing and the obvious laziness and complete lack of quality in the ring I received. I ordered a ring with stars and received a ring with Xs. I did NOT order a treasure map for my wedding ring and I will not accept their agents attempting to downplay the issue that I have very clearly explained with visual and detailed proof. I understand them saying each ring is "one of a kind", but nowhere on the listing does it say the ring I receive will look nothing like the listing at all. There is not a single ring on either listing that looks like the one I received. I wanted a variation on a specific scheme, not a whole different visual design. Entire advertised design elements being missing is tantamount to fraud. It's a whole different concept. And furthermore, what is the point of the zodiac illustrations on the listing if the rings are going to just be decorated randomly? Based on my two combined signs, Scorpio and Aries, there is only the possibility of having ONE X and multiple asterisks. You certainly shouldn't have MORE Xs than the design calls for. I can't believe Catbird would just sell some "random" ring in place of the one pictured. For those prices, you really need to take individual pictures of each ring if they are going to be THAT different. I understand them being somewhat different, but the shaping is entirely different, it's not domed at all, they just used thick rectangle wire for my actual one. I know this is long winded, but I am hoping you can avoid the same fate! Save your money or use it somewhere where they care about their customer. Please see my emails with customer service and attached photos with annotations. read more

Stopped by for a little bday present for myself during a quick trip to Brooklyn. I came in and went straight for the forever bracelet and charms so I already knew what I wanted. Trinity helped me pick the right one and was able to zap me immediately. She measured my arm and asked me how I would like my charms to look, initial facing others or myself & I said others. To my surprised she went ahead and zapped me -- before I could test the length of how the bracelet felt. However my uber was there so I said thanks and waited by the door. Thankfully my uber was running late, for which I noticed that the charms were zapped in incorrectly. I asked Trinity if she can fix it and she did! Later that evening, I noticed how tightly the bracelet were. I knew that if I gained another 5 lbs, the bracelet was a serve risk lol Waited til the morning and messaged Catbird onIG and FB asking if I could come in to get my bracelet fixed. I also called the store probably 20 times throughout the day and no response. After work I rushed over 30 mins before they closed, and thankfully they were able to slot me in for a fix before my flight the next morning. Overall I got exactly what I needed and had a good experience the 2nd time but the -1 star for the really really difficulty in contacting the store & inconvenience of needed to return back not knowing if I would be helped. read more

I'm a big fan of Catbird's jewelry style, and really love all of the pieces I've purchased from them. My only negative experience was in purchasing the Tiny Crescent Moon necklace. After only two years of regular wear, the chain completely broke off from the crescent moon out of the blue. I do think that this is unreasonable given Catbird's price point. After doing some research online, it looks like their repair program is a bit reliant on the consumer -- you are required to insure the package yourself, you are required to procure your own secure packaging, the cost of the repair appears to be placed on the consumer, etc. I ended up getting it repaired by a local jeweler, which apparently voids the warranty altogether on the item. TLDR, really gorgeous jewelry, but I'm somewhat unimpressed by the quality/the repair service. read more

We've stopped in here a few times and there is always something different to purchase. Local artisans pieces, to cards, rings, necklaces, and assorted sparkly trinkets. Prices range from cheaply affordable to pretty expensive. As it's a tiny place they are only allowing in a few people at a time during to covid restrictions. I just ordered some bracelets online. I checked out and provided a SHIPPING address. Because I live in Texas. Not NYC. So I get an email stating I can pick it up at the store. What? Huh? Then I find out by calling a store that they don't have a phone number for online orders, just chat and email. Who does not have a phone number? That screams of a scam. Be warned, they are idiots. I've really loved Catbird's jewelry and have placed multiple international orders over the past year - including higher-value pieces. Sadly, I recently lost the Spun Gold Bracelet due to a faulty clasp, even though I'd already had issues with it once before and had been very careful ever since. I contacted customer service on March 15 with a full explanation. I received a response on March 18 offering a 20% discount, which I appreciated. I replied the next day (March 19) with a more detailed explanation and photos, asking if a slightly better solution might be possible - but since then, I've received no response at all. I followed up again on March 25 and April 4, and have also reached out through their contact form and via Instagram. I'm still waiting for a response. I honestly didn't want to leave a negative review, but I'm deeply disappointed by the complete lack of communication - especially from a brand that claims to value ethical, quality craftsmanship and loyal customers. read more

Horrible customer service and ambiguous information. I order for in store pick up and was informed that it should take 1-3 business days and I inquired on the 3rd business if it had arrived yet since the email was input wrong by the system and was told three different stories by different people. I actually call the store and the girl that picked up said they just got shipment and will call me back and never did. I contact customer service chat and then was rudely told that they're doing inventory and won't give any information formation till it's done. All I wanted was for someone to tell me if my items are there and if I can pick it up the next day which I was promised a yes then maybe then whatever happens happens. If you don't plan to provide customer with service at all the don't put it out there I know maybe it wasn't a big purchase but definitely a turn off when the service part is so so poor. read more

Note that this is a review for their online store (which does not have a separate review option), so it does not reflect the in-person staff at the store. I have been attempting to order a Marigold necklace charm from them for close to a month now. The first order that came had a Morning Glory charm instead. Ok stuff happens, I contacted their help center and they sent out a replacement order as well as a prepaid return slip to return the incorrect charm. The replacement that came was ALSO a morning glory charm. I am still awaiting the 2nd replacement now with hopefully the correct charm. What is baffling though is that both the original and 1st replacement orders had the correct label on the outside of the boxes for a Marigold charm. The charms inside the boxes did not match the outside label. You clearly have an inventory/QC issue if this exact same situation happened twice in a row. Hopefully the 2nd replacement that arrives is actually the correct charm. This should've been an easy order but turned into a big hassle. The only upshot of this entire experience is that the customer service representatives were kind and understanding and dispatched replacements quickly. They should not have to clean up after such basic, *repeated* mistakes associated with order fulfillment though. read more

NOTE: This review is for ONLINE services + NOT for this location. I ordered some pieces during the Black Friday sale. A week later, I receive a text at 8:30 PM saying that a messenger tried to deliver my order and since I was not home, they would try again next Monday. There was no prior correspondence alerting me that a messenger would deliver my order instead of UPS/FedEx/USPS. How could I know to stay home if I didn't know a messenger was on the way? On Monday, I stay home the entire day to make sure I don't miss the messenger. By 10:30 PM, I assume they are not arriving. The following 5 business days, I contact Catbird's online support via their website email and chat. The chat is a mess. I was ghosted each time I tried to initiate a conversation about this order. When I emailed, I received subpar help from someone named Kimberley. After 3 days of failed contact, I finally am able to switch my delivery to a store pickup. Kimberley does not ask which store I want to pick up from -- and she assumes the Williamsburg store will be fine. It is not. It is an epic poem of 3 trains for me to reach the Williamsburg store, especially during the busy holiday season. I request she switch to the Soho store, which is easier and near my work. She refuses, saying she is unable to reroute the messengers. I work with messengers daily for my job, and unless there's an earthquake/flood/etc, you can re-route messengers, so....I'm annoyed by her response. When I finally get to the Williamsburg store, Kimberley has messed up my order and input an incorrect item. So then I spend even more time trying to fix the issue to ensure I leave with the correct pieces. Catbird seems completely disorganized, messy and uninterested in helping customers. I'm super disappointed and annoyed with how much time I invested in a simple online order. I've been shopping at Catbird since 2006, but I won't be back. TLDR: Their online customer service is a mess. Huge lack of communication and no desire to help customers solve issues in a timely fashion. read more

I was visiting from out of town and stopped by Catbird on 11/2 at 3:45PM. A few of my friends spoke very highly of their jewelry and I wanted to pick up gifts for my girlfriends to bring back home. Upon entering the store, an associate with short blonde hair tied back in a low ponytail made eye contact with me and as I was about to ask her for help, she ignored me and walked away. Strike one. I was not greeted nor was I offered any assistance when I was, very clearly, walking around the room looking at pieces. Unfortunately, the only other associate (who seemed very helpful to her customers) at the store was unavailable and the blonde was at the counter LITERALLY DOING NOTHING. Standing and breathing. Minimal to zero effort. I had to walk up to her, stand in front of her while she still ignored me, and ask her to assist me. I asked a few questions about metal choices and lengths and I got short, sarcastic, monotone answers. As if I was somehow lacking in intelligence and should have known their products like I work there. Strike two. THAT IS YOUR JOB TO KNOW AND TELL ME. I honestly should have left the store at this point. It's really rare for me to give a one star review, but the way this associate made me feel deserves this lengthy feedback. Why are you even in retail??!? When shopping at a "luxury" jewelry store, or any retail establishment, the expectation is you'll be treated with warmth and offered help. I've gotten better service at a McDonald's. I ended up purchasing gifts for my friends (regrettably) and would have spent a lot more but I felt so uncomfortable and was pretty furious so I left as soon as I could. That was one of the worst customer service experiences that I've ever had. I'm never coming back here. Spend your money elsewhere or online but don't come to this retail location. read more

I was greeted and asked multiple times whether I needed help. The store is also beautifully curated and fun to look at. In addition to their own line they also sell jewelry by local designers. However, I found their jewelry rather disappointing. Most of their pieces are thin, lightweight and tiny. The designs are also nothing special. Ear studs are very small and their bracelets and necklaces are so thin that they will most likely break after a short while. I know the price of gold is very high right now but I would rather safe up and buy a more solid piece that lasts me a lifetime. read more

Don't buy Knuckle Rings from Catbird!!! https://www.catbirdnyc.com/mignon-memory-ring-yellow-gold.html?308=65&ab_version=A&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=SCM%7CPmax%7CBestseller&utm_content=&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADsOdPfeu5b5B52nXn4UbzaWfTnau Very disappointed in the customer service response I've received from catbird today. Let me start out by saying that I am a loyal catbird customer. I have a 5 or 6 catbird rings and a bracelet. This past summer I purchased the Mignon Memory Ring in the size 3.5 from the soho store. I was between sizes and bought the ring in the 3.5 on the advice of the sales person. Before purchasing in the ring I SPECIFICALLY asked the sales associate if there are ever issues with these knuckles rings staying on people's fingers. I asked this question because when I tried the ring on, it just didn't feel secure on my finger. I actually almost didn't buy the ring for this reason. However the catbird sales woman assured me that I had nothing to worry about. She specifically said, "I know it feels like it'll fall off but they never do." I went on to buy the ring but in the back of my mind I was always worried about it falling off. 2 weekends ago I was in Amsterdam for my birthday and was wearing the ring. At the end of the night I went to take my rings off and I realized that one of my knuckle ring had fallen off! I so annoyed and upset because my instincts had told me not to buy the ring but I had let the sales woman at catbird convince me otherwise. I had bought the ring over the summer and still have the receipt for it so I emailed catbird customer service and asked if I could get a credit for the ring. I shop a ton at catbird so I knew I would probably buy something else. Unfortunately the catbird customer service people were only willing to offer a promo code for 20% off a future purchase. However that's not the part of this that is upsetting to me. I went to go leave a review on their website basically saying that while I loved the way the ring looked, I wouldn't recommend purchasing the ring because it's not stable on the finger and slips off very easily. Also because the ring is so light you don't even notice if it falls off. However, I found that there wasn't an option on the catbird website for me to leave a review!! I emailed customer service back asking them how I could leave a review for this product and they basically told me they're NOT currently allowing reviews for this item! Personally I think the reason catbird is not accepting reviews for this product is because they've had other customers that have had the exact same problem that I've had with the ring falling off and they don't want a ton of reviews on their website of people complaining about the ring not being stable on their finger. I find this type behavior extremely sneaky and unethical on the part of catbird! please beware when purchasing their knuckle rings! If they don't feel secure on your finger then do not buy because it will fall off! read more

I ordered a necklace from them. Everything came, that was fine. The necklace looked a bit different from what I expected so I decided to return it. The return was sent back nearly 2 months ago and I still have not received any refund at all. I have reached out to their customer service for an update and received no reply. So I have had to shoulder an over $400 charge on my credit card for 2 months now. This is ridiculous. Edit: Honestly don't do it. Lovely in-store experience, but terrible customer service via chat or email only. My fiance and I purchased wedding bands from Catbird Williamsburg. He was measured as a 9.5, and the band they sent and claimed was 9.5 was too big. We had it checked by a local jeweler who said it was 9.75. I've asked customer service to ship the correct size to the store because our wedding is in a few weeks and they keep telling me there is nothing they can do. I would first need to send back the ring to get the replacement, but it takes weeks to get a replacement. I've been going back and forth with them for a week now and can't speak to anyone on the phone. I would never recommend Catbird to anyone for wedding jewelry. I'm shocked by how a store specializing in wedding bands could make this kind of error, and then not take ownership for that error. read more

Emily was amazing, she took the time to look in the back upstairs for the loggia ring in gold/rose gold. She gave us her time and knowledge and she saved my life. In general make sure you call ahead and ask if they have a certain ring in stock if you are traveling from far. At the wedding annex you would expect them to have their rings in yellow gold, white, and rose gold, and varying carat sizes, but a lot of times they don't have it, so make sure to plan ahead! read more

Awful experience with Catbird. I'd been considering buying some of their jewelry for a long while and finally decided to. Two gold necklace chains and a black diamond charm. I never received the charm in the order (which clearly states the three pieces on the receipt) and Catbird refuses to right their wrong. Either send me the charm or refund me the money. They basically stole $70 from me. I've never experienced missing an entire item from an online order and just being dropped by customer service, no attempt at amending the situation in any way. I had hoped they'd be a good place for minimal jewelry but after this horrible experience with customer service I would never take the chance of ordering from them again - and I recommend other buyers beware. read more

This has to be the most overrated and disappointing service I have received in a long time. My boyfriend and I went to "get zapped" after I read up about the service, and I wanted to do something special as a couple. Having read about this previously and coming to visit NYC, we set aside one of our days, made the appointment on the website a week ahead, and we both looked forward to the experience. First, they needed the bands in stock. As they are listed on the website (almost no white gold and silver), we sit down after picking a strand out from what was in stock. We chose the swimming pool bracelet and unlike the website that states that charms can be added to any bracelet, we were informed that none of the charms could be added to ours. The clerk that did the zapping completely ignored me when I said I wanted a longer length; she advised against it, and even though she said we could change it, she just went ahead with the size she wanted to do and sealed the thing. Also, there is no "zapping of the bands together." It's simply a little gold ring that gets inserted that turns into a bracelet that is not removed. But in no way is it seamless. Now, my biggest disappointment is that I was so much ignored that the clerk ended up having a lively conversation about NYC schools, and I sat on the side watching and listening to these two. (I am from out of town and this conversation was meaningless). She finished me in a few minutes, and with my boyfriend, she held a long conversation that made me want to ask if I should return later. (I did mention when it was all done that this was a huge disappointment and that I felt entirely left out). He just wanted to be polite. However, she didn't seem to adhere to the experiential narrative as advertised on the website and I simply felt left out: if you sell this as a couple's experience, please make it one! I was so disappointed and underwhelmed that now, all I see when I look at this thin cheap bracelet, is that I am reminded that we spent over $540 on it. We could have purchased more excellent, higher quality bracelets with a clasp for that money and probably gotten better service. Overall, I hated the experience, really disliked the unprofessionalism of the clerk, and the bracelet was not the length I wanted (do they want to save gold since the clerk herself had many various sizes?) I can't believe I made this part of my NYC experience. I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale. For me it was a costly lesson learned, and to top it off, I now get to carry a daily reminder. read more

I purchased a ring from catbird around 3 years ago. The ring was close to 5000 dollars. When the ring was around 2 years and change, the opal inside broke. I took care of it exactly as they instructed. Since the ring was SO expensive, you'd think they'd replace it for free since it was relatively young right? Not at all. They told me the fee would be 700 to replace but that was no promise. They'd give me a real number once they saw ring in person, so you know it would end up being far more than that. I am SO disappointed in my experience with this business. They're literally scamming people. I overpaid for my ring in the first place due to my omen ignorance. I hope others do research before buying from them. read more
