The only jewelers I trust to take care of any repairs, valuations or advice on family heirlooms. Michael and his team are lovely to work with and so knowledgeable. I feel very lucky to have them on my doorstep. Also, their curated jewelry collections are beautiful and unique. Well worth a visit! read more

I dropped off my grandfather's wedding band for resizing on August 6th. When I handed it over in person, they assured me it would be done well before my wedding. On September 1st, three days before I leave town for my wedding, I called for an update. The staff had no idea where it was. I called back. Still nothing. I called a third time that day and was finally told they hadn't even located the ring in their shop and hadn't started the work. I drove over immediately to pick it up. When I got there, the jeweler asked if it fit -- completely oblivious that they'd never resized it in the first place. A month to resize a ring with an explicit deadline and repeated assurances, and they lost it in their own shop. Three separate phone calls, zero useful information, zero accountability. Absolutely poor business. Don't trust them with anything that matters. read more

Michael is knowledgable and friendly. Great suggestions and easy to work with. Custom work is also a great option.

My fiancé and I went to Fitzgerald Jewelry because we wanted to find somewhere: 1) Local, taking in person consultations, 2) Make custom rings, and 3) Could source alternative/unusual stones or gems for the ring. We had looked online but my fiancé was nervous about shipping it so far away, so after reading reviews and scouring the internet, we were happily pleased to find Fitzgerald Jewelry met all the criteria! We set up a consultation through email and went in person to meet with a jeweller. The first consultation was fairly quick. I knew what I wanted already (a salt and pepper diamond engagement ring) but went in person with my fiancé to get a better understanding and gauge of what we wanted. He picked out a beautiful engagement band for himself that we later customised for him. For my ring, however: we had an idea and Olivia (who is no longer working at the store, but still creates jewellery that is AT the store) helped us and it took a week to source the stones. We found the perfect one within our budget, and gave them a deadline. I'm giving five stars because the service was impeccable. We did have a snag in that the setter placed the stone in wrong and we were disappointed and worried we would not have the ring in time for our trip. They even gave us options, both of which were disappointing but understood with the time crunch of the holidays. At the last minute, the setter changed their plans to accommodate their error in setting the stone. Got our ring in time. Turn around for customs is probably around ~2 months if you're fast. I would recommend this store again since it delivered the ring of my dreams! read more

Got my beautiful wedding band here! (Pictured above the engagement ring) I wanted a unique v shape that worked with my oval engagement ring. They were so lovely here and not snobby at all. I went somewhere else and the ring they wanted to sell me had a smaller diamonds and was way overpriced. They have a great price bracket here and I'm pretty sure they make the rings on the spot! Lovely place l, will go back in the future. read more

What a wonderful asset to the neighborhood. I had a catbird charm that I wanted to add to a mejuri necklace...and catbird was not able to do so because the chain was not their own. They instantly recommended fitzgerald jewelry to do the trick, and I swung by and they took me in instantly. They explained that putting the charm onto the necklace was an easy fix, explained how to do so (and how I could easily do this myself - the charm couldn't easily be slipped onto the necklace...). Not only that, they didn't charge me anything! Such sweethearts! If I'm in need of more jewelry or jewelry repair, Fitzgerald Jewelry will be my first stop. read more

Great service and very reasonably priced. I popped a diamond out of a ring that I recently inherited and brought it in for repair (fortunately I had the loose diamond). They reset it, cleaned it, and checked the remaining prongs for defects -- all for $80. I was very pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was and the ring really sparkles now! read more

My fiancé did not want a "traditional" wedding ring, and left the design entirely up to me, which was a LOT of pressure! The incredible designers at Fitzgerald made me feel totally taken care of, and were extremely meticulous; they wanted to get it right as much as I did. They took an idea I had from a pictures I found on Pinterest and made CAD designs, silver casts, and put up with my OCD when I asked for minute changes. In the end my fiancé (now wife!) was overjoyed, and the compliments do not stop coming in! Thanks Fitzgerald Jewelry! read more

This is WAY overdue, sorry! I'll start out by saying, when it came to all the parts of planning a wedding --- the rings were the last thing on our mind ( major procrastinators! ) with 30 days until our big day, I went into Fitzgerald simply to have an older sentimental ring of mine (rough cut diamond) resized to use as my engagement ring (after being engaged for 1.5 years without one ). Michael was extremely helpful with not only a speedy turnaround but an in person second resizing because i was between sizes. The ring came back looking better than it ever did (after 5 years of constant wear). My husband came with me to pick up the resized ring and started browsing bands (with no pressure at all from the staff). I knew I wanted something with stacking ability but wasn't sure anyone would be able to customize something with such a short timeline. Fitzgeralds went above and beyond! Not only helping me pick custom sized stacking bands (one solid gold and the other with grey matching diamonds) that perfect fit my engagement ring, at an amazingly affordable price... they also promised to send the rings to us in Texas (where the wedding was, if they couldn't turn around before we left - 2 weeks before our wedding). They came through and we were able to pick up my two bands, in the type of gold I wanted as well as my husbands custom band (which he didn't even know he wanted until we saw the texture options available in shop for men's gold rings). I think he spent more time trying on options than I did! The point is--- these guys are the best! Fantastic staff, jewelers, and store in general. read more

A little over three years ago, I needed to find a jewelry repair shop that could downsize a man's palladium wedding ring. Fitzgerald came up in an Internet search and, after calling to confirm that they could work with palladium, I went to their shop and left my ring. The image of the receipt, attached to my review, shows a $100 charge from Fitzgerald for a downsize by "Mario." I recently dropped the ring in my bathtub while taking a shower. It split apart, no doubt where the two ends were fused. I left a message on Fitzgerald's website, explained the situation, and said I assumed the ring would be fixed at no charge. Fitzgerald's reply: "Once you leave the store, the ring is your responsibility." Some guarantee! And yes, I have since learned that a palladium ring is more brittle than gold. Would have been nice to know when I brought it in for repair -- but the complete lack of a guarantee on jewelry repairs at Fitzgerald isn't limited to palladium. Buyer beware. read more

I went here for wedding ring shopping with my fiancé. They have such a great selection of beautiful and interesting jewelry. The customer service is great too; the person helping us was so patient at letting us take our time to look at a bunch of rings. I found one I absolutely loved and is perfect for me. Highly recommend this place! read more

I came in with an idea and left with a much clearer vision of how to make it happen thanks to Jake. I can't recommend visiting with them enough when it comes to creating a custom piece. I had never been to a proper jeweler prior to going to Fitzgerald Jewelry and I was frankly a little nervous. My fiancé and I were getting my engagement ring resized, and I wasn't sure if asking for just a small service would mean they would be dismissive or something. But honestly, they were SO friendly, educational and patient. My ring was resized within a week and the results are perfect. Highly recommend! read more

This place is amazing! I felt really covid safe in there bc the store is pretty big, everyone is in a mask and they have everyone sanitize before trying anything on. I came in needing a last minute (temporary mini-mony) wedding band and they were ready to dig through everything they had. They got my perfect ring measurements, and turned around a beautiful piece in the same day. I don't recommend going in there in an extreme rush like I did, but it was amazing that they were willing to help me make sure I had a ring for my wedding day. They went above and beyond! They're not dirt cheap, nor are they priced outlandishly. I was super grateful to have their help. read more

I love this place and I'm so happy they are in the neighborhood. They have helped me resize some complicated rings, repair & redesign bracelets, and they very creatively fixed a problem I was having with some Pamela Love clasp earrings that kept falling off my ears. They are amazing problem solvers & excellent designers--they once made a gorgeous rose gold wedding band for a dear friend of mine. Jewelry design and repair that is independent and small is so valuable!! Please stay open forever. read more

Best jeweler in Williamsburg. The owner, Michael Fitzgerald, is so helpful and kind. Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I got custom wedding bands at Fitzgerald, and we had such a good experience all the way through the process! From discussing design options with the team, reviewing the casting and stones before the final setting, and even the follow up support they provided when there was a slight miscommunication about the design of one ring (they fixed everything cheerfully and turned it around within a week)- all ahead of the estimated deadline we had initially set), and re-sizings, the team has been so great to work with and we LOVE having rings that are so unique and locally made. read more

When I proposed to my girlfriend I knew she wanted to design her own engagement ring. I used a family ring for the proposal and left it up to her (after she said YES!) to find the jeweler of her choice. She found Michael on Yelp and we made an appointment to meet with him. Our first consultation was a breeze and we left feeling very comfortable about our requests. Our family had been very generous with supplying diamonds and gold so we left Michael with all of our "booty". Two weeks later we returned to pick up my engagement ring. He made it out of 100% recycled gold and it far exceeded what I had envisioned. Because we had so much gold and jewels left over, we decided to make gifts for our Mom's that we could give them on our wedding day. My future mother-in-law really loved the ring I had used for the proposal, so we had Michael refurbish it with a sapphire and clean it up. For my mother, he designed a setting for a Ruby and we reused one of the gold chains they had given us. Today we returned to pick up our wedding bands, the gifts for our mother's and my girlfriends engagement ring. We couldn't be more pleased with the final product and all of Michael's attention and customer service. I would highly recommend Fitzgerald Jewelry for all of your jewelry needs. His willingness to work with us on our respective vision and his ability to add his own touches were great. It was truly a personal and wonderful experience. read more

I was looking to get my grandfathers antique wedding ring resized & thought it was going to end up being a nightmare to figure out. After searching, Fitzgerald seemed like the obvious choice but I still had my concerns. The moment I stopped in (didn't need an appointment) my concerns were blown out the window! Such a great little staff here & I couldn't believe how helpful they were in the process! They were even able to speed up the process for me for a little extra cost (& it was STILL less than I was expecting to have to pay)! Highly recommend these guys to ANYONE & there jewelry needs. I am already looking forward to future reasons to make my way here!! read more

I can't say enough things about Michael and this studio. Michael introduced my wife and I to the art of jewelry making over 2 years ago and we have take more than 4 classes at his studio. He recently moved to a new beautiful space on grand that is a fantastic showcase for his work and the work of his students that he amassed over the years. If you like to make things stop by and take a class. If you like to buy the jewelry is beautiful and very reasonably priced compared to most other stores. read more

My husband and I got our wedding bands at Fitzgerald Jewelry and couldn't be more pleased with our choice! Their selection is great and everyone who works their is super friendly, knowledgable and helpful -- over all it's an incredible jewelry store. But the best part of our experience is that we had essentially forgotten about wedding bands until one month before the wedding -- we went in I think June 24 and our wedding was July 21 -- but Fitzgerald was able to accommodate our procrastination and strict timeline and had our bands ready for us with plenty of time to go! The designer also had me come in a few days before to ensure I was pleased with the ring and that it matched my vintage engagement ring, since I planned to wear them as a set, and added a few finishing touches to make sure it matched perfectly. I seriously appreciate this extra effort; the final changes took my ring above and beyond anything I could have dreamt, executing my vision flawlessly. The rings look amazing together, and even on its own, my wedding band is GORGEOUS and I haven't stopped receiving compliments on it. I will definitely be returning to Fitzgerald Jewelry for jewelry shopping soon, and highly recommend them for all of your jewelry, engagement ring and wedding band needs! read more

I went to Fitzgerald Jewelers because I was drawn in my the window display and excited to have a place in my neighborhood to buy and possibly make jewelry. I had the worst experience there. The man who helped me told me my rings had no street value and he could make them better. They are family heirlooms and have sentimental value to me, and, I never asked for his opinion. Then order was supposed to take two weeks took five weeks and the everything was all wrong. I was happy to get my rings out of there and had them fixed at another jeweler. I'm writing this review now because I was talking to a co worker and she had a similar experience. It brought back the way I felt walking out of the store. read more

Amazing experience. My fiancée and I took a private class to make our wedding bands and cannot say enough good things about it. From our first email to the finished product, they were so attentive and informative. The actual class was so cool, they made you feel really comfortable (which is good because we are both totally rookies at this). When we told friends what we were doing they kept misunderstanding us that we were designing the bands. They were really impressed when we showed them pictures of us in the workshop physically making them. read more

My partner and I stumbled upon Fitzgerald on a wedding ring-shopping trip to Williamsburg, and I couldn't be more thrilled! While shopping for the traditional male wedding band, I decided I wanted to make my husbands wedding ring to make it a bit more special (even though I am not an artist ha). After EXTENSIVE research I found Fitzgerald Jewelry Store. From start to finish the experience was amazing and unique. I worked with Sue and she was very supportive, thorough and overall a wonderful teacher. At times I was nervous working with the saw and gold but she guided me through it. We had a few sessions, but it wasn't overly time consuming. The owner Michael was also very engaging and supportive as well. My husband had an idea of the styling he wanted, and Sue helped me make it happen. I LOVE the finished ring, and so does my husband. The store also offered beautiful designer jewelry, so I knew if it didn't come out the way I wanted it was another option to purchase something there haha. Overall a wonderful experience that made our wedding even more special. I also plan on returning to Fitzgerald Jewelry Store to take more classes. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about working with Michael and the Fitzgerald Jewelry team to design a custom ring. When proposing to my girlfriend, I knew she would want something unique. I visited several jewelers to try to find a ring that would fit the bill, and finally found Fitzgerald Jewelry. At Fitzgerald Jewelry, I found a ring that was close to what I was looking for, but that I wanted to customize a bit (swap out the diamond for another stone, add engraving/filigree to the side, etc). Using that ring as a jumping off point, Michael and George made an entirely unique ring that was more beautiful than I would have ever been able to envision. Michael and George were amazing to collaborate with through the entire process - they were very invested, responsive, and patient with what was probably very vague direction on my part. I would highly recommend working with Fitzgerald Jewelry if you're looking for something custom! read more

I wish I could give this business 6 stars! I took my engagement ring in to get resized and didn't make it small enough.
