I love the Ridgewood Market!…read more This Sunday was the first time that I attended. It actually took place on Summerfield Street, which is right near my house (so I had no excuse not to attend!). So my local artisans and businesses were represented here! Not only establishments from Ridgewood (Norma's, Rudy's) but there are tons of other cool vendors from all over NYC represented here! MartiniHandmades (from whom I got an awesome terrarium and bracelet), an awesome empanada table, someone serving shrimp and grits! So many local artists, jewelry makers and thrift stores! I know that this market is awesome, because even my boyfriend, who usually does not enjoy these types of things, found several vendors, items and foods that he loved! Score! Everyone was friendly and some vendors even took credit cards! What a great way to get to meet people from your neighborhood and support local artisans! It actually is a monthly event held at Gottscheer Hall; I stopped by the initial one in April. It is categorized on Yelp as a "flea market" at moment, but that is really a misnomer; while there were a few booths selling used goods it is predominantly an indoor arts & crafts fair, with some booths selling food products to boot. This might be a good place to check if you were buying gifts; the majority of the goods are likely more appealing to women than men from my judgement. One aspect I do appreciate is that the vendor pool seems to display a relatively diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and tastes and the same goes for the crowd perhaps due to advertising that is also locally-focused; it doesn't feel so much like some of the similar craft markets held in other boroughs, but has a less-pretentious, very neighborhoodly Queens vibe. It seems to, consciously or not, embody Ridgewood quite well rather than attempting to replicate an outside aesthetic in this old neighborhood. Hopefully it becomes even more diverse and representative of the neighborhood as the event evolves. The best part is seeing so many people at Gottscheer Hall for a public event during daytime hours, as well as being able to get eggs and other brunchtime foods they don't normally serve.

I happened across Gemelli Jewelers in my search for an engagement ring. Proposing marriage to someone is difficult enough but choosing the right engagement ring feels down right impossible. Already beaten up by the process Joe & John Palmeri peeled me off the ceiling and made the process easy. With my awful taste in jewelry and zero ideas of what my girlfriend might like, owners Joe & John came to my rescue. They began a very systematic process with a battery of questions. Very patient and informative the Gemelli team quickly emerged in my mind as the leading experts. Making it a point to learn about me & my girlfriend first, they very quickly narrowed down the options. I went from being utterly confused to becoming a diamond expert almost immediately. They were overly concerned with my understanding and being comfortable with what I was spending my money on. The expertise, product quality and overall service is second to none. That initial purchase was over six years ago and made me a customer for life. I go only to them for all my jewelry needs. Plus they are identical twins which makes you feel like you're always dealing with the same guy which is kinda cool. read more

The only jewelry store i will go to! Very trustworthy and understanding. I went to buy an engagement ring and have my grandmothers diamond put on the band. I did not know the workers at the time and requested to watch the work take place because i heard about stores switching diamonds. They were more than accommodating me with my issue and we sat in the back and put the ring together. They are a very professional bunch at the store and they are more than accommodating. Do yourself a favor and make this the only jewelry store you ever do business with . Since then have made 3 or four purchases there and they always give top notch service! read more

Another great experience with Joe and his staff at Gemelli (on Fresh Pond)! I had my engagement ring re-set about 3 or 4 years ago and it came out amazing, so I went back in to order a name plate for my daughter's upcoming 16th birthday. It came out beautiful and she loved it. Not only that but when I asked for my ring to be cleaned, found out my stone was loose and could've lost it. Joe fixed and cleaned the ring while I waited. Highly recommend them! read more

I knew I had to wait until they opened to check things out in person, and luckily they are very punctual. A surprising amount of people came in at opening - I guess it's a very popular store/location! We were first window shopping around, and it was initially hard to get a staff to help answer a few questions about pieces we were interested in. Finally we got someone's attention and they actually pulled out the entire collection for us to see and ask to try on. It wasn't on display, but as part of the box of pieces that were for sale, I found an adorable ring and knew I had to get it. Unfortunately they had sold out of my size - at the time, my fingers must've been extremely swollen from the heat because my size was way bigger than I remembered it to be. The staff didn't mention anything like that to be wary of, but I felt like they would have known. I left the shop without buying anything but did note the ring I wanted and got on the waitlist online. Eventually they came back in stock, so I'm glad I did go to the storefront to see it in person!

I purchased two name rings late in 2025, I had been a customer at the original location since they opened in 2005 when I was in college! I've bought so many rings from them, many by Wwake but also very nice ones by their in house line. A lot of personalized ones over the years with sentimental value for me. I think quality and production must be way down and I'm worried maybe these rings I have from last year may not even be actual gold. Maybe it's a fault in the design? I put one on and almost cut myself- it had split!!! I was so shocked and reached out to them immediately since this hasn't happened in 20+ years as a loyal customer who recommended their brand, bought gifts for family, etc. I emailed customer service and they said it's under warranty and can be fixed. I felt like that would be okay until I looked at my other name ring, purchased on the same date. I can see a split forming but not complete in the same exact location as the other one!!!!! I don't want a "fix" or replacement anymore unless it's another brand. I'd like my money back, I've never ever had real jewelry break on its own like this and I take very good care of these treasured objects. I can see these will break again and again :( If they can actually give good customer service I'll return as a customer to still buy trusted brands like Wwake but would never buy from their line ever again and can see numerous recent Reddit posts describing Catbird line jewelry falling apart! Sticking to Kathryn Bentley and other cool designers who take more pride in their work. Buyer beware :/
