Julian and everyone over at Castle Flooring did a wonderful job for us. I got bids from two different contractors for installing wood floors in my house. The bids were very similar in price but I felt like the customer service at Castle was better, and I am pleased with the choice I made. Julian's bid was much more comprehensive than the other bid I received and felt that I wouldn't have any surprise charges (and I didn't). Julian was also very patient going through our flooring options and explaining the pros and cons of different kinds of floors. After a few visits to his store I found several options I liked, but nothing that was quite perfect. I described what I wanted and Julian called me a couple of days later and had found exactly what I had described to him. The process of installing floors in a house you are living in is a hassle and there is no way around it, but Julian and his crew did a very good job working with us. They made installation relatively easy, and were enjoyable to work with. I had a few questions and concerns during the process and they promptly addressed every one of them. The project got a little behind schedule, but instead of saying they would come back in a week to finish (like many contractors do) they asked to work late a couple of nights to make sure it would get done on time. Contractors can be a mixed bag, but I recommend Castle Flooring. We had a very good experience with them. read more

We recently contracted with Castle Flooring to replace the first floor floors in our home. Preparation for the job included demolishing a large section of ceramic tile and removing old carpet from additional rooms. Castle then laid stranded bamboo flooring in three rooms and new carpet in the master. We have had tile work done before and knew it to be extremely messy. Castle sealed the entire area (difficult to do in an open floorplan!) and did a fabulous job of containing the microscopic dust the job generated. The floors are beautiful. Castle's hardwood installer is a true craftsman, an artist with hardwoord. He did a beautiful job in a demanding space. It would have been easy to have messed it up. Julian, the owner, was invaluable in helping us to decide how to go about the job & in laying out the basic plan. Also, his quotations are very complete; you know exactly what you are paying for and how much it will be. To top it all off, the entire Castle staff is excellent to work with. read more

I LOVE Castle Flooring. Due to a water leak in an upstairs bathroom, I needed to replace tile and flooring in that bathroom and kitchen backsplash and floor. The range and quality of products, expertise and great customer service is the best I've found. Julian went waaay above and beyond in helping me find what I needed and could afford. While the view from the street is unassuming, the price and quality of selection and service inside is excellent, far beyond any flooring or tile shop I've found in Austin. They located a tile I found at another shop who couldn't get it right away, found a distributor and were able to sell it to me for less than the other vendor. They helped me find the perfect backsplash tile and trim and helped with design ideas for the walk-in shower and floor. I have purchased tile here for my home three times over the past 20 years, and I always find just what I'm looking for. Stephanie and Julian are patient and give good advice while respecting that I know the look I want. We never felt rushed, and were able to take samples home to 'try out'. The selection and quality are so much better than the big box stores. There is a difference! Julian gave us a thorough and fair estimate, and when my husband was adamant to DIY, Julian made sure we had everything we needed for the project. I called Julian at Castle Flooring for some finishing touches/repair work needed on our laminate wood floors. My husband tried to do the remodel himself but ran into a problem at one doorway. I explained the situation to Julian, and he requested that I send him some pictures. I was given a fair quote, and he quickly scheduled an installer to come out, knowing I had a deadline. Brad, the installer, was professional, courteous and did a wonderful job. Julian called about 30 minutes after Brad left to ensure that I was happy with the work done. Castle Flooring redid all my floors after I had an insurance claim for flooding. They were a big help in getting the best claim result, which enabled me to upgrade the floors at minimal cost. Julian also made some great suggestions and had very good workers do the installation. They went out of their way to do little extras that they did not have to do, such as install pads on all the furniture, touch up some areas not relating to the damage, and even do a little extra carpentry. At first, I was a bit hesitant because it was not the lowest bid. But what impressed me most is the attention to detail with the bid and later, during the hardwood project. Not only was the hardwood installed professionally and with the greatest attention to preparation procedures. In fact, they cared enough to cover non-work zones and my fixtures with plastic. I was especially glad to get progress reports and was asked for my opinion on a few minor items. Julian and his team did a beautiful job installing hardwood floors in our entryway, living room, and office, and porcelain tile in our master bathroom. Julian met us at his showroom and helped us select our materials, then created proposals that were fair and easy to understand. His team was able to get in and complete the work earlier then expected and it turned out beautifully.
