I worked with Christian to pick out vinyl plank flooring in early Spring and after making my choice Christian came and measured to give us a good estimate. I called her several times asking for different options (installing over existing 27 yr old wood flooring, tearing out wood flooring, and dustless option) and each time she sent out revised estimate via email. We decided to proceed and after ordering materials gave us a date for early Sept. A crew, headed up by Uriel, arrived first day at 8:30 AM and worked till 6PM. Highest work ethic I've seen/experienced in a long time! Ripped out old wood flooring and perfect install from Tues-Thurs. Christian had follow up carpet stretch in 2 rooms meeting new flooring, and painters next day to paint shoe molding and job completed by Sat.AM. We've been customers of Convict Hill Flooring for 28 years. Last week we had them remove our original laminate flooring and install new flooring. Upon completion of this $15,000 job we called to let them know that one of the floor electrical outlets was not secured to the new floor. Christian told us that she would bill us extra to send someone to secure this outlet! It was fine before they took it up. The other three outlets were correctly secured as this one should have been. We entrusted this store owner with our floor covering throughout our house. There were lots of problems at every turn. 1. We came home after a long day at work and the wrong floors were lain. As it turns out, the manufacturer mismarked the boxes. The way they handled it was very poor. Instead of making it right, they gave us a small discount on the price. 2. When they laid the bathroom tile, they chose tiles that looked as though someone had dropped a wrench on it. Our brand new tile had big gashes! They fixed that, but it should not have happened in the first place. 3. They carpet they laid went well, but I later felt ill-advised on it as it does not hold up to stains as I was promised. First impressions as you walked in our front door - yuck! So we bit the bullet and went and looked at flooring options at the showroom. I am extremely pleased with Convict Hill Floor Covering. We have used Christian and her store twice. We originally had them install handscraped hickory floors in our home. They did an amazing job. They had to undercut our stone fireplace to make the floor fit under and it looked amazing. Then fast forward 2 years and we ended up deciding to sell our house. Our realtor told us that it was the most beautiful floor he had ever seen. It truly was amazing and we loved it. It held up amazingly well for 2 years. It was a Johnson variable width floor and we picked it by throwing keys and toys at the sample. Christen's crew did an amazing job installing it. When we purchased our next home it had really plain white tile with white carpet. Having three kids we knew that carpet had to go and we decided we had to have the same exact floor we had in our old house. We had a very tight schedule because we wanted to have the floor installed the one week we were leasing back our hold house. Christian made sure that we could install that week and also made sure that she wouldn't deposit our check until after the deal on the house closed. (We didn't want a large amount of money coming out of our checking account that would cause the bank to freak out). She really put her neck on the line by agreeing to order our supplies without cashing our check. They did another amazing job. They did crack one tile on our fireplace and came out and repaired it right away. To me a company that goes out of their way after payment to make things right is worth their weight in gold. I can't say enough good things about Christian Gribble and Convict Hill Floor Covering and Design. They just finished a complete remodel of my bathroom and it is stunning! Christian gave me a detailed schedule at the beginning of the project about who would be in my house on what days and what they'd be working on. Subcontractors we're knowledgeable, respectful, and on time every single day of the 2 month job. Christian was on site at the start of each new stage of the remodeling process. I will second the recommendation of the installers. They are very careful and professional as well as being polite and considerate. That really makes a difference when you have them in your home all day for a few days. There were some issues with my installation, but they were resolved to my satisfaction. I got estimates from 3 different companies and CHFC was the only one that really seemed to want my business. I feel an update is warranted after reading Christina's review. I am insulted she felt it appropriate to resort to name calling and the blame game. This reply is directly to Christina. Christina: First, how very rude to call any client names no matter your experience. You are in the customer service business and dealing with all sorts of clients is part of the package. I have read several review sites and what I found in response to all poor reviews by your clients or potential clients is you or other staff never take responsibility. All issues are turned around and blamed on the client. That alone is extremely poor customer service and in my opinion, you should not be in this business. It's not for everyone. You claim you have been in the industry for 25 plus years, yet you're unable to take square footage and calculate it into linear feet? You have the audacity to write in your reply the client did not know what they are doing. Regardless if you are dealing with an experience client or inexperienced client, you are the supposed expert and should have the knowledge and ability to guide your client. You actually told me to stop asking questions and to figure it out myself. I support a very large and worldwide client. I would have been fired if I spoke to my client in the manner you spoke to me. It doesn't matter if they are nice, rude, knowledgeable, unknowledgeable, right, or wrong. Trust me when I write they have extremely high expectations and I ensure they are met without exception. I never place blame on my client. I am in the customer service business and I conduct myself professionally 100% of the time and would never tell my client I will not do business with them, resort to name calling, be rude, etc. I value them above all else and they are always right. It should not matter if you took the measurements when it comes to assisting the client with turning feet or square feet into linear feet. It's fine for you not to be responsible if the number provided by the customer is incorrect, but it's not okay to be rude when the customer clearly is asking for your assistance. People order carpet by the square foot everyday regardless how the vendor submits the order. We actually ordered the additional carpet needed by square foot and it was a perfect foot. Your pride bit you square in the nose, and you have lost a $15,000 job I had quoted to have new cabinets, countertops, and sink and cabinet hardware. Pretty sad. I actually wanted Convict Hill Flooring to do the job, but when elsewhere at your request. I've read so many reviews that state they feel the staff is snobby and rude. read more

Went there looking for bathroom tile... Nice guy tried helping me out, however the owner did not seem to think it was worth his time. While he was trying to help me, she tried to continue having a conversation with him about a large project they were working on, ignoring the fact that we were discussing tile, or that I was even there! When we budgeted for a home remodel we wanted to make sure and support local businesses to aid the economy so we chose Convict Hill Floor Covering . Over the past 2 months we have dealt with many contractors while going through our home remodel. In comparison to the others CHFC was average. We dealt with the same issues as most of the contractors we dealt with (example: workers showing up more than an hour late, more than a few imperfections in the work, language barrier resulting in unintended results, etc.). I think this review would have had 3 stars but we did deal with a contractor who was superior in quality, service, and price which set a very high bar to compare the others to. By chance we found Convict Hill Flooring and Christian can't be more pleased with the renovations to the lower level of our home. This was our first renovation and Christian was there to make it as painless as possible. The subs that installed the flooring were absolutely amazing. They were on time and when they left you would not know they had been there. They cleaned up after themselves every time they were in our home. The painter also did a great job painting all the cabinets and floor molding. I am a very precise person as well as a business owner and I am sure I drove Christian crazy, but she was polite and took care of all minor issues. Christian is very knowledgeable in all aspects of renovations. She provides a timeline and schedule outlying what and when each stage will be performed. I contracted Convict Hill Flooring to do a total remodel of my kitchen, guest bathroom, interior paint, tile and carpet in my entire house. Christian and her crews were professional , on time and followed their daily schedule to a tee!! A mix of snobbery with general disdain for our home and project. Their material is overpriced and the labor although quality was also overpriced. Just had the best experience walking in here. My husband and I are looking to have a few rooms carpeted and after stopping in Lowe's and leaving frustrated and heading to Home Depot for a better, yet mediocre, experience it was so refreshing to receive intelligent, friendly, prompt and helpful service here! We found something we liked at HD but really didn't want to give them our money if we could avoid it. I was afraid an indie store would be super pricy but like to support local when we can. Not only was the service great right when we walked in but they are mailing swatches of the 2 we liked right to our house to decide. The price is actually LESS than the HD carpet and they include the pad, installation, removal and furniture moving. HD included installation but charged for everything else. Once we get our swatches and finalize color we will definitely be using them! Hope install goes this well- will update after it is in. Thanks Brad! We have had our floors, countertops (kitchen and bathroom) and backsplash provided by this Company. We had a wonderful experience. Christian was great on giving guidance and the work personnel were amazing. All the work was done, well, done timely, we love the selections we made and couldn't be happier. They also used Uncommonly Clean to remove our furnishings and replaced them when the flooring in the entire house was replaced. I had already paid HD to do a carpet measurement, but I had an uneasy feeling about HD's "carpet sales" and "carpet installation" team thanks to the other reviews I read on Yelp about buying flooring at HD. I stopped by Convict Hill Flooring and the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about carpet. I chose something similarly priced and much higher quality. Extremely unpleasant experience. This was such a bad experience that I still shudder when I drive past this business. Unfortunately, when I went into the store, I was wearing my gardening clothes, which seemed to have compelled the owner to treat me like a homeless street urchin. When I asked about materials and prices, she said "her clientele" (a group of people much more elite than I, apparently) and "her customers have an expectation of quality," implying that she seemed to have deemed me too unqualified to also expect. I've never been so condescended to or treated with such snobbery. After my other home renovations, I'm fairly well-versed in materials and costs, and I found her products to be no better than others'--yet her prices are exorbitant and her attitude is extremely unpleasant. Entering this store was a complete waste my time, and I'm sorry to have ever dealt with the owner. I'm glad her business is so good that she can afford to treat people like me with complete disdain and disrespect. Unfortunately, for her, I was coming from Circle C and renovating my second home, so it was her loss of a great deal of business. read more

No doubt in my mind that I made the right choice using Christian with Convict Hill Flooring! After going through a 2 1/2 year remodel, carpet was the last big project on the list. To put it mildly, I was burnt out and needed someone to make this an easy stress free process for me and my husband. The original carpet I decided on was on back order and could not be installed for 3 weeks and I was in need asap.
