Dropped off our truck and picked up rental car. This place was recommended and just down the street. Great service by really nice ladies. Lots of funny signs on the walls. Food is southern and very good. The wife had pork chops with okra and onion rings. I had chicken fried chicken with mashers and onion rings. Huge portions.

Huevos Rancheros with plenty of bacon!!!

OK, this is COMFORT FOOD heaven. No lo-cal, vegan, gluten-free stuff here. It's what you used to get in diners and cafes across America. Had the Huevos Rancheros which came with a large serving of bacon and home fries. Large portions, great flavor. The waitresses call you "Hon" and it's all good!

Incredible homemade and fresh breakfast as usual. Made it on a Monday around 9:30 am and we weren't too late to have the fresh biscuits and gravy this time! The bacon was perfectly crispy, coffee was piping hot, and the steak and eggs were fresh and made to order. Our favorite place in Lubbock for breakfast! Don't forget to grab a slice of homemade pies on offer in the fridge by the slice ($6)!! Thank you

Fried okra was the best I've ever had. Hand breaded and delicious! Onion rings were amazing too!! Thanks for the homemade ranch! Was thinking the green chili gravy was going to be creamy but it was not so I ordered the regular gravy and mixed it in. Service was impeccable and and Theresa the owner WORKS!!! Great place!

Food = excellent Service = excellent Ambiance = amazing! I could not stop speaking out loud how amazing this place smells upon entering. The sight and smell of fresh baked goods are magnificent to behold especially first thing in the morning. I arrived just as cups of banana pudding were being filled, pecan pie being dished out sending cinnamon and vanilla scents wafting through the air. I has placed an order for chicken fried steak and egg breakfast to-go, but those wonderful smells convinced me to add a slice of butter chess pie AND Texas delight. Don't judge me!

The week of Thanksgiving is probably not the best to review but I was there today so here it is. There were hundreds of pies near the entrance because everybody wants one, and they're great. I just wanted lunch. A little disappointed because they were out of onion rings and the fries were old and hard. The burger though, magnificent. Half pound patty cooked just right with loads of flavor. Server was great and the atmosphere is always good. I'll have to go back to get onion rings.

Large place. We were promptly greeted with friendly smiles. Our waitress (Brandy M) was top notch, excellent. Didn't ever have to wait for coffee & water refills. Breakfast portions were very generous (& quickly served). Overall A++ experience. (and the pies!!! we didn't have room for dessert, should have had pie first!)

So- came for breakfast -as our usual place (The Pancake House)-was closed. Well, this was great! I had egg whites, and a short stack, while my husband had the breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were FAR better than our usual. They were moist and soft, and my husband said his sandwich was amazing. Milli was our server, and she was super sweet and attentive. This is a definite breakfast stop- a little "old school" in the way of choices, but that's probably why the food is great. Also- check out the desserts!!!

I also tried the nashville hot chicken. Let's go pros: I really enjoyed the side options and the amount of food for the price. Chicken was juicy on the inside and not dry. The flavor on the Nashville hot chicken was enjoyable. Cons: The chicken itself doesn't feel marinated or anything so the flavor isn't in the chicken itself. The seasoning on the tenders was very minimal and just tasted like a lot of salt. Same with the okra... the fry on the okra was good but just tasted like salt. The mashed potatoes were fine but the "bacon" in the gravy was canadian bacon or something because it wasn't crispy like bacon. I wouldn't get the mash again.. Nashville definitely had better flavor, but was very very very oily. It's also has like virtually no spice. Dirks signature sauce is like canes sauce but tangier... (Canes is better I'm sorry). Service was good! They do charge 2.5% credit card fee so bring cash.

Or "I'm sorry, your server should be with you shortly" or nothing! Not ONE acknowledgement. I finally picked up my cell phone and called the main number and asked for the manager. When he came to the phone I advised him we had been there a while with no one offering to get us drinks. He finally stopped by the table and made some excuse for the server, which is fine, but why didn't he stop and say that prior to my calling. He passed us at least three times, glancing at our table and still...nothing. That's all I want. Acknowledge that we are there and will be served soon! Very frustrating. Everything about this place was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the fries were delicious, and they have a great selection of beers to go with it. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. Our waiter, Drew, went above and beyond. He took the time to walk us through the menu, answered all our questions, and kept bringing extra sauces, jalapeños, and anything else we might want without us even having to ask. Another young man named Zo stopped by our table twice just to check in and make sure everything was perfect and to see if there was anything he could do to make our visit even better. That kind of attention and genuine hospitality really made an impression. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. My mom and I might be a little older than some of the crowd, but we felt completely comfortable and right at home. Great food, great vibe, and outstanding service. I was back in Lubbock visiting my girlfriend after she had come to see me in Austin the last few times, and we were planning our weekend. I had previously taken her to The West Table to celebrate her graduation, and since we loved it, we knew we had to go back. Last time we went was an amazing experience. We had their arancini as our shared appetizer. She had their Roasted Beet Salad and the Grilled Rack of Lamb, while I had their Caesar and their Cast Iron Seared Duck Breast, which was amazing. We also enjoyed their specialty drinks. This time we arrived for our 7:00 reservation and were greeted and sat immediately. We both ordered a drink to start the night. I started with the Hibi-Jibi, a hibiscus and gin drink, while she had the Peach Ring Margarita. West Table is a farm-to-table scratch kitchen concept, so it's very important that you order all your food from appetizer to main course up front to give them time to craft it at the right pace. The West Table is at the floor level of the luxurious Pioneer Condos. It sits right across from their sister location, The Brewery LBK, and even serves their current brews on location. However, opting for their brews and not their cocktails is a mistake in my opinion because their specialty cocktails are truly one of a kind. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It feels like a ballroom and all the tables are well spaced out. In the back is the open kitchen where you can see all the chefs putting in hard work and mastering each meal. All around, there is great energy. We started with their Roasted Bone Marrow. I was worried about the idea of eating bone marrow since that was something I had never had before, but my girlfriend assured me it would be great. The bones were filled with an onion jam and lemon caper vinaigrette that were placed inside the bone. You could spread the jam and vinaigrette on their grilled bread, which was fantastic as well. It was purposely charred and really added to the jam's flavor profile. We then split their Caesar Salad, and it was a needed divider between our appetizer and entree. Their salad is a good portion for one person, and it was still satisfying being split for two. It was the perfect amount of salad. We got our next drinks ordered to go alongside our main entree. My girlfriend ordered their Fig Old Fashioned, while I got the "C" Monster, a celery-infused vodka drink with a name that sounds so stupid saying out loud that I almost changed my drink after saying it. Can I get the C Monster? WHAT A FOOL. The drink was really solid. The celery flavor was super noticeable, but in a good way. It balanced with the vodka quite nicely. For our main entrees, my girlfriend got their Salmon over Angel Hair pasta, and I got their Pork Chop over mashed potatoes and asparagus. The noodles with the salmon were strong with a very heavy Cajun kick, which complemented the crispy salmon piece, but my pork chop was the star of the show. They recommended it medium, so I got it medium, and it was delightful. Portions of the pork chop were nice and fatty, while others were lean and tender. I was a big fan of its flavor, and the sauce and mashed potatoes really added to it. Perfectly fluffy mashed potatoes. We closed the night with no dessert, but dessert drinks. My girlfriend got The Cold Fashioned (a mix between a smoked old fashioned and coffee liqueur), and I got the Buenas Noches, which mixes coffee liqueur, chocolate liqueur, and orange liqueur. Of all the "nice" restaurants in town, West Table stands alone. It has a price tag but still feels fair. Everything we had was top notch, and I still think they've made the best duck I've ever had. Their waitstaff is attentive and amazing and really sells the experience. At the end of the night, she was happy, I was happy, and West Table proved itself to be the LeBron of Lubbock restaurants. RIYL: Specialty cocktails that make you go "Ooo that's interesting" and some of the best New American in West Texas
