One of my favorites that I frequent. Local coffee shop vibes. They typically have somewhere to sit…read moreeither inside or outside. There's parking in a lot next door, otherwise street parking close can get tricky depending on the time. I highly recommend getting a coffee and an any pastry and walk to the beach. Everyone is always friendly.

Greetings! My long overdue review for Tanner's is finally here! I visit this place while working so…read moremy time is limited, so my apologies! For me, this place hits home. I'm a bus operator and layover down the street, so this is the perfect 'usaaa' place for me to unwind and just be in one with the abyss. Its my peaceful and relaxation time from all the up & down chaos from the city streets, as I drive through it lol. I do like the ambiance. It is definitely a modern style luxury. Not too fancy, not too poor of a setting, it's just right. Being shoreline close to the beach, I think is pretty cool! I'm normally there in the mornings and the staff is always great and ready to help you. I even phone order sometimes to beat the line and time and they are always great over the phone as well. One thing that I really like is that they openly answer any of your silly questions you may have. I love coffee, but I'm not a coffee connoisseur and I know it can go far deep and there's some coffee places where you walk in and you automatically feel like you should already know what you want? Well this really isn't the place. I would say their coffee is a little different and I finally had the courage to ask why and it's their espresso. It just always taste a little bit more stronger no matter how I ask for the latte, which I don't mind. I just didn't know it was espresso being used on the latte. Let's dive into the food; If you're reading this part, I'm assuming I still have your awesome attention so I'll get right to it, the 'Green Eggs & Ham Sandwich on a jalapeno bagel hits 10/10! You should definitely give that one a whirl. I also switch it up and go regular croissant as well which also tastes really good. Now I don't know why they don't add mayonnaise to their sandwiches but be mindful to ask for that if that is your go to as well. I finally tried their pastries on my last visit. The chocolate chip cookie does have a unique taste, which I really enjoyed and it was not too crunchy yet still somewhat soft, which made every bite really good. I think I got the loaf of bread too, but I might've saved it for my mom :) If you're a regular, I would recommend getting in their point system. After signing up, I got a free pastry on my third visit. They give you cashback rewards in store credit. Btw, i did notice they moved their menu around a little bit since the time I took their menu pictures, so don't hold them to it lol They are dog friendly btw! So bring them on that nice walk or trip. You may not see it, but they do have a restroom for customers that you can use. And one of my lovely things I like about it is that it's always, clean! I'm sad that I got relocated to another division, but in the near future once I'm back, I will definitely be back, thanks!

THIS IS LONG CAUSE I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!:…read more Soooo: SUMMARY (FOR THE RUSHY RUSHY PEOPLE): great vibes has French music of different genres flowing in the air. DELICIOUS food (kudos to the chef). Good portions for the price. Food takes time cause it's bomb. #DontRushGreatness. Wonderful staff! Would love if open more hours to resume fun events ex: wine tasting open mic??? more chargers needed, clean bathroom. Parking lot small and tricky. Please be careful on that intersection. Traffic lights are meaningless to some. Beautiful decor ! And they change the menu :-) Go there it's lovely. Tell your crew but keep it classy. THATS IT! Phew. NOW GET COZY AND READ ON IF YOU HAVE THE TIME: The owner and her staff are so kind warm and welcoming! I've been coming here for what feels like a year? You walk in and feel instantly relaxed from the decor. Think ; vacation spot , "White Lotus" season 1 and 2 vibes. TIMING: The morning time is really popular from what I hear and there is sometimes a line. However go between 11-2:30 (closing time) and very calm 90% of the time. If/When there is a line people are so nice! No joke! Maybe because it's not a place you rush things. Everything is made fresh so some dishes take a bit of time. So I suggest going when you are not in a hurry. Or order to go. AMBIANCE: If you are a music lover, and enjoy international grooves, a French radio station or playlist is always on. Plus it's different styles of French music! There was rap, hip-hop, jazz, alternative. So while in line you'll probably find yourself tapping your feet. I really like the booths for the privacy. When it's busy those go QUICK. The basket chairs look glorious but I haven't tried them yet. Not sure if they are still up. But one day I'll nest in there...one day. NOW THE FOOD! The menu changes every so often which is exciting ! If you are minding your dollars and cents it's a bit pricey. HOWEVER, the food is great quality and from the dishes I've ordered the portions are a good size #WorthIt. I like their coffee and that they have milk alternatives. And I appreciate the menu is not overwhelming. If there are condiments they don't carry (due to the authenticity of the restaurant) they always recommend something comparable as a substitute. RECOMMENDATIONS: I dislike eating breakfast when it's not time for it. But when I come here? It's on! The goat cheese omelette is fluffy and delicious!! I add chicken to it que magnifique! (Hope that's right as I'm not using Ai in this moment . Apologies if it's wrong corrections welcome #respect) They had a juicy burger and it was so good they run out of it pretty often. The lox bagel has a decent amount of lox! The home fries aren't greasy (great with avocado for some reason) Bannana Bread is so tastes and moist! It feels more like a cake. I'd buy the whole basket but that would be unfair to "the OTHERS..." Just kidding lol. The lemon squares are about to be my new addiction too. But they keep it real sometimes popular dishes run out. And that's ok, it's a boutique spot. It's also a mini-rush when you order a dish that's finally available lol. ADVICE: PURPOSE: I'd come here for a smoothy after a workout. Breakfast with peers or a more relaxed business mtg. if you're in an ASL (Or any group/team) club like I was this is a great place to meet. The light is fantastic! They have their own wiFii. CLEANLINESS/KIDS? Their bathroom is clean. Place is spotless. You might see a table with dishes to be cleared but it's never overwhelming or a bunch of tables in that state so, chill! I'm not sure I've seen a lot of families with kids in there. And I'm not sure if I saw a changing table. I have a 4 year old so I look at things like that but I know they'd be very accommodating. DRAWBACKS?: I've only seen one outlet over a booth in the middle? So make sure you are charged up or have a looong chord. They also close pretty early when I'm there at 2:30pm. CREATIVE PLANS FROM STAFF: However, one of the baristas shared with me they used to be open longer. But due to Covid it's been slow. So they adjusted the hours. They have lots of ideas if things pick up. And I think in the past they did wine tasting with selections directly from France! I think they could have a fabulous open mic poetry night. Maybe even a small live band every so often. Game night classy style? hehe. If they allowed the tables to be moved I'd do an art premiere there! No joke #Ideas. YOU, yes you: Step one? Get more awesome people to adore this place like I do. So check it out! Enjoy the food and ambiance and the kindness. I'll see you at the open mic wish I could add a pic but maybe next time!

This is gonna be an easy review because of how terrible this place is…read more I ordered at 6:54 A.M, right before I left from LMU to go pick it up. I am on the way to an admitted student day so I figured 10 minutes advance is enough time for an order to be ready- like any other starbucks or any other restaurant period for that matter. I get there and my drink is ready, then I wait 10 minutes. No food yet. 20 minutes. Still no food. I'm actually typing this while still waiting. Seriously ridiculous, it does not take 45 minutes to make a sandwich and a bagel. If an actual restaurant can push out meals FRESHLY MADE at a high rate, there's no excuse for the frozen bricks of flavorless mush that they heat up in a toaster oven to take this long to make. Seriously, do they just hire anyone these days?? I saw an employee repeatedly dropping a bagel while trying to cut it in half. Speaking of which, All I ordered was a sandwich, a bagel, and a pumpkin loaf for my girlfriend and I. 45 minutes for that. The bagel gets toasted, the sandwich is assembled when its frozen so what could possible take so long. If you have places to be, do NOT go here. If you're hungry, do NOT go here. If you want to wait over half an hour for food, then this is your place. Seriously, few experiences in my life had made me this angry. Corporate if you see this FIRE EVERYONE THAT WAS WORKING THIS MORNING AT THE 8400 LINCOLN LOCATION. I saw numerous others waiting for a very long time to get their food, and I know that I certainly wasn't the only one inconvenienced by this. Absolutely ABSURD that this place is still in business. I will make new yelp accounts 10 times over to give this place one star. I'm seriously astonished about how you can possibly be so terrible at running a restaurant where you unwrap things, heat them up, and put them in a bag. Pls find something to do with your career that isn't food service. Food was okay

The place is eclectic, warm, and instantly inviting -- the kind of spot where you walk in and immediately feel the good vibes. The South-of-the-Border aesthetic isn't just décor either; the Mexican-American hospitality here is the real deal and you can feel it in how welcoming everyone is. And the food... honestly emotional. The Banana Pancakes were light, delicate, and perfectly sweet -- the kind that make you pause mid-bite because they're that good. The lattes were rich, smooth, and full of flavor (not the watered-down excuse for coffee you get at so many places). The breakfast burrito was next-level too. The tortilla is layered with melted cheese all around it, so every single bite has that warm, gooey, cheesy goodness. It's perfectly balanced and incredibly satisfying -- and trust me, definitely add avocado. It takes it over the top. My husband almost cried when he took his first bite! Huge bonus: tons of options for meatless eaters. Soyrizo, fresh veggies, amazing juices... everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. YUM. If you're anywhere near Playa Del Rey and craving breakfast by the beach, do yourself a favor and go. This place is something special.
