We haven't detected any activity since. --Either have our dogs, who first alerted us to the problem. When Elmer came out, he took about 30 minutes to walk through the house and gave us a completely different--and much more reassuring--assessment. He identified entry points where rodents were getting into the crawl space, explained that the air ducts did not need to be replaced, and instead recommended insulating the rafters, reinsulating the attic floor, and cleaning and reinsulating the crawl space. He also suggested installing an attic fan to improve air circulation. Throughout the visit, he was straightforward, knowledgeable, and very approachable. We decided to move forward with the attic fan. Umar updated the contract promptly and even came out personally to help program the fan and connect it to my phone. Their team worked tirelessly over four days and did an excellent job. They were professional, detail-oriented, and left the house clean when they were done. Let me start by saying Definition Insulation did a great job with the insulation removal and…read moreaddition for my home. My house definitely feels cooler in the morning and although it's hot outside, I haven't had to run my air conditioning nearly as much. I believe I will start to see the benefit more over the next few months. Honesty is the best policy and I choose to be transparent in my reviews. I did encounter a few issues related to the financing and some inaccuracies displayed on the company website. On the website when I was researching, there was an option for 100% financing, which as a single parent I needed, however, it turned out that wasn't an option and was incorrect on the website. Payment methods are either cash, check, or card, however, if you use a card there is 3.5% fee added to the transaction which can add up based on the job. This fee added $100 to my total, which I don't even think goes to the company but to the merchant. I wish this information was accurate and more readily available as it was one of the reason I was even able to find this company based on my search criteria. However, financing alone should not deter you or prospective customers from using this company. The owner, Anthony, was apologetic but I believe it was out of his control with the fees. His customer service alone is why I chose to continue doing business although my other quotes had financing options. Anthony definitely seemed like he would work with you if he could. The company was able to provide a quick turnaround for service, I believe he came on Monday for a quote, and then I had an appointment on Thursday. He was very responsive to emails and questions that I had. He has a crew, but is hands on with his jobs as well. One thing I should known and I hope to share the information with others is to check your vents after job completion. I wish I would have had them check after blowing the insulation. I had insulation coming out of the vent in my downstairs living room and still have insulation that blows out when I turn on my air conditioning in my bathroom. It was stuck in the vent so when I turn on the air, it blows out and I have to clean it up. So that's the only thing that I wish I had of known, or at least spot checked prior to their departure. In summary, I still give 5 stars. I would definitely recommend Definition Insulation. I felt comfortable with the owner, the job, and the crew and that means a lot. They were very knowledgeable in the field, in fact, Anthony used to work for an HVAC company, so he isn't just selling insulation to be selling it, he knows the benefits of it and how it can help cool your house down and lower your electric bill. I am hoping to notice a different next month. The customer service and fast turnaround were win-wins for me. I did as much research as I could and received 3 quotes from other companies, but Definition Insulation was the only one that included the removal on their quote, all of the others were going to put new insulation on top of at this point decades old insulation. It might be the difference between fiberglass insulation and cellulose insulation, but either way there should be removal as part of the newer insulation. Sometimes the cheaper or brand name option isn't always the better option if they can't do the job right, so I felt very comfortable in my decision to choose Definition Insulation and I would choose them in the future should I have another job or know someone who needs this type of work done.

He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Ian is the owner of the company. From my experience with him in this short while , I've learned he is a family man with astounding integrity. Second, I did not contact this company Cal-View Property Inspections casually or without cause. I reached out because there were serious ongoing concerns in my home, involving exposed walls, abnormal air quality, and conditions that affected my family's health and safety. At the time, children were living in the home, and the wall area had remained exposed for an extended period. The inspection was not the cause of the problem. It was conducted because I needed answers about conditions that already existed inside the unit. The inspection helped confirm that mold concerns were present in the air and on surfaces within the home, including in my daughter's bedroom. After the inspection, I pursued code enforcement. That process resulted in multiple code violations being identified, and repairs were required. My family was displaced as a result of the condition of the home, not because of anything this company created. The statements suggesting improper motive or lack of professionalism do not reflect my experience. I hired this company because I needed an independent assessment, and from my experience they were professional, responsive, and helpful during an extremely stressful situation. This company did not create the conditions in my home. They documented them. I am grateful I contacted them.

He was recommended by my mortgage broker for a VA refi pest inspection. Not knowing what to expect, I was highly amazed at how far outside of a "Pest Inspection" this guy went. He wrote up things that had nothing to do with pest issues. He wrote up things that his own contract stated he was not allowed/qualified to do. He referenced a state "Structural Pest Control Act" and he did not even follow those guidelines. He asked for access to certain areas, told me I had to start removing boards, he would not use the access door that was available. My mortgage broker threw his report out and says they will never use or recommend him ever again. Total waste of my money and time. read more
